I think the coolest thing is the variety of aircraft seen here. There are still a lot of different aircraft models at the airport nowadays, but they aren't as unique and iconic as these. And am I the only one who misses this Delta livery? I remember flying an L 1011 in 2001 and that was the only and last time I ever got to fly with this gorgeous livery (and gorgeous plane).
Moderately decent odds I could have appeared in this video. Through mid July 1998, I was working for a firm in Salt Lake City, and the job had me flying in and out of SLC 3-4 times per month. In July of that year, I took a job working for Hudson General at the SLC airport, and spent my days working on the ramp.

No more 727, dc-10, l-1011, md-11, dc-8 , concorde, 747sp, Pan Am, TWA, Northwest, Eastern, America West, Horizon Air, Aloha, McDonnell Douglas. A lot sure has changed in the last 20 years.
It was changed because Ron Allen wanted Delta to look more like a low cost carrier (ie cheap). I would say change it back to that, but the extra paint and weight would cost money.

@elviscash56 Wait, never mind, i think it is 98, United was white orange red and blue in 88. 98 they were silver and blue like in this video. The delta planes must have about to been painted
@yblocker and just MD-80's too and Airbuses and the Fokke-100 is gone =( I used to be on that aircraft alot between New York and Chicago on American Airlines I miss the Fokker-100 (R.I.P)
@TLVspotter ..... they are gone forever !!! ...... the aviation world Sucks now !!!!!! ... when my parents both worked for Delta ..... that when flying was fun and they actually served food on Domestic as well as international flights !!! .... flying was great back than ... now, since they got Rid of the Great planes of my childhood ... Delta SUCKS !!

Favorite DL and UA livery. Only other livery I loved was the Ron Allen livery.
Agree with you on the "black mask" DL livery. Disagree on the RA livery. I hated it.

Theres no way thats '98.
It's definitely late 90's. If you look at the TWA 727-200, you will notice the nose is white. We started to take the black off the nose in the 90's.
