      Puerto RIcan culture is very heterogenous. I enjoy all of its cub cultures, but to be honest, this is not the culture of many puerto ricans, like those in the central mountains who are descendants of canarians and whose music is música jíbara. We value all of it but we also value our diversity.

      Actually the drummer leads... it's a dance between the drummer and the dancer. Men can also dance "with" the drummer

    • @MayreniSeSe
      @MayreniSeSe 4 года назад +6

      @@SG483 actually the dancer leads, the main drummer called "primo" is following the dancer's improv. A dancer comes to the front and when she/he salutes the primo, (you can see it in 01:15) it's on and drummer follows dance. It's a game to see if the primo can follow the dancer's movements with the beat.

    Feel it
    The beat of the drum
    The rhythm driving your feet
    Feel the vibrations in your legs
    The freedom of your sweat
    Dampening of the weight that it carries
    Yes chile' break free
    You see, these tribesmen are ferrying a boat to your freedom
    Can you see?
    Across the waters, deep blues and aqua
    Salt air and sea licking your skin

    NO ES : "BOMBA Y PLENA"
    1.Son dos géneros distintos aunque tenga origen de música africana.
