  • Whilst we get impressed with the much shouted about safety features in a vehicle, the base philosophy in building a car will determine how safe that car is. The Subaru Forester comes with a little more than 100 safety features that are incorporated into the build-up: this is only possible if the car maker has a philosophy that places safety above everything else.
    This is Part 1 of a 2 part series. Enjoy!

    I am indecisive about getting a Forester or a CRV. But after getting into both of them, I have immediately made up my mind. Proud owner of a Forester today.

      The CR-V is an overrated, and overpriced shit box . Shitty fuel consumption, somewhat unsettling ride, and its an utter garbage.

    See that you are finally taking a more scenic route for your reviews sir, and a more leisurely drive. No drama and no hurry, especially for a family oriented vehicle. Love the drive by shots, keep up the good work! 😁👍

    When late 80 or 90's, SUV was not very stable and might flip and 'terbuang' when cornering too fast, but forrester was the one that didn't crash when cornering due to it's structure

    I have always been fascinated with the AWD and flat 4 boxer of the Subaru, but pity about their vehicle styling direction though. Then again, its a subjective topic when it comes to design. 😅

    Hye uncle, I wanted to ask as a request to uncle that you should do another genting hill climb in proton iriz 1.6 premium. Uncle already did the hill climbing with that car but it was raining so we cannot really see the power of the car, so it is difficult to compare with its competitors. Thank you from one of ur fan🙏

    RAV4 vs this which is better?

    • @keanbuantan3012
      @keanbuantan3012 4 года назад +6

      Depends on what your priorities. If you prefer badge status, Toyota is the more popular brand in Malaysia. However, I bought a subaru mainly because of that. Due to its less popular brand in Malaysia, they give higher discounts than Toyota. So you get more value guy or your money as a whole. A very well engineered car at much lesser costs. RAV4 uses combinations of port and direct injection to lessen carbon buildup in long run etc while subaru uses only direct injection. However, periodic cleaning of the intake valves can be done at service centres to overcome this. Like uncle Khong mentioned, Subaru’s horizontal boxer engine allows it to sit lower and the car physically has lower Center of gravity, making it stable even without all the softwares. I always favor structural advantages over electronics.

    very safe but 13L/100 km on highways.. how much worse in city driving?

    • @keanbuantan3012
      @keanbuantan3012 4 года назад +2

      Yep, I agree with uncle Khong. I drive a lot of short distance and congested traffic areas. Start and stop and very little highway cruising and it’s often only 9.7 L / 100 km. Never seen 13 L yet. When driving out of town and cruising 110km/h , it’s about 6.7 L/100 km
