elliot, with the catnip....you can trim it back at anytime. DO NOT let it bloom, as it will die back. trim and bundle to let dry(I would hang them in the greenhouse where the kitties can't get it. my cats love it dry, don't care for it fresh. I have three pots of catnip, it will winter over in a good year.

I love your garden! The tree in your mums garden is not a weeping willow, it’s a silver birch which does have the branches hanging down to good effect. I have my own small horticultural nursery if you would like some freebies, happy to send you some of my plants! Love you both ❤

Love to see the update and the garden looks great. What a peaceful garden.
Two points for you. 1) do you know foxgloves are poisonous to cats? Maybe move them to the front garden in pots where the cats have less access.
    2) you mentioned that Matt has hay-fever...don't dry your bedding outside as your getting pollen on it and then he is sleeping on the pollen covered pillow and duvet..which may make his hay-fever worse and he may get very congested.

From a longtime lurker: your slices of life are so very soothing and I look forward to them! I do love the garden updates and the cats…I do love you all so much and wish you well always! 🥰
One thing, though (this will sound terrible and I apologise in advance) - there’s the heavy use of packaged foods and other packaged and disposable things in your videos when it’s quite easy to cook and make home-made cleaning products with minimal waste! The earth is saying “no!” and the climate crisis and pollution are getting worse and worse as nature objects to humans as a species reproducing far too much and overrunning the planet while sh*****g on the natural world (note: any straight couple having more than two kids hates the earth and humanity. Prove me wrong?)... ahem. Anyway, renovating a house is different, obvs - it’s hopefully just a one-time thing!
My parents emigrated from Liverpool to British Columbia in the mid-sixties and I grew up on hippie Vancouver Island on a small farm before internet days, so maybe I have a different, more “work from scratch” view, but one can make great, simple food from scratch with locally-grown stuff and it doesn’t have to be difficult. I’d love to see you do that sometimes, eschewing packaged stuff, especially as you do know how to garden! (It takes a bit of planning which, as someone with ADHD I know can be really hard)🤷🏻❤️
Then again, when I’ve visited my family in Britain, I’ve been left absolutely gobsmacked at the variety and quality of frozen food/meals/“junk” food available. Like, you’re SO spoiled for choice you have no idea!! 😭 We just don’t have that here in Canada. I’m a vegetarian… perhaps if I still lived in Britain I’d be taking advantage of the amazing (vegetarian) packaged food, too?! (who am I kidding? of course I would! 🤤😭)
Also, I do wish you a speedy recovery from Bell’s palsy!! It IS temporary, as you know, and I hope your case is mild! ❤️❤️❤️ (I experienced a cervical spinal cord injury and injury to peripheral nerves nearly three years ago due to doctors not taking my longterm pain and troubling symptoms due to vertebrae issues seriously for years until it was too late, but after emergency surgery, some of my function came back, and it’s still improving slightly, even now (not the spinal cord stuff, but I’m still surprised at the resilience of the rest of the nerves)! I still walk funny and always will, but nerves are resilient, even if their growth is very slow (the spinal cord not so much, but Bell’s palsy is thankfully usually fully resolved!!🥰)

Garden's looking loverly ⚘🌷🥀🪴 not to be one of those annoying dictating viewers...you shouldn't do this, shouldn't do that squawk squawk squawk... I read somewhere just this wk that pollen clings to bedding/clothing that are line dried?!
However that's one of the joys of the 🌞 weather, I understand that pollen is something that cannot be completely avoided though 😕
