Sorry to hear your in a bad time I went though a terrible divorce and focusing on fitness really helped keep my mental health in a good place even if everything else was falling apart keeping my head right with workouts really helped me stay focused 💪 learn from it use all the negative things that happen to u as a a lesson and go find you again and you will get tho it stronger and better and new better things will come alone I'm about to get Married again and I have a 2 year old boy too!and all thoses years ago when I got left by my ex wife ( she cheated) I felt like that was the end of my life and that I'd never recover but we are way stronger than we think we are!but as a man we must talk to people about our mental health it's so important 💪 good luck to you

Hey Steve, Been a long time viewer and been a long time bad sleeper. However, now, since a few years, I'm a great sleeper. This is what I changed, hope it helps! Blue light blocking glasses at night: Bright light in the evening tells your body: don't make melatonin, stay awake. Blue light blockers block that. Solid sleep routine: The biggest thing that helped me was waking up at the same time and going to bed at the same time. As soon as you wake up, get some light in your eyes and wait with coffee for at least 90 minutes. This fixes your sleep cycle. If you have trouble going to sleep early, melatonin can help getting your sleep cycle in order. Check-off routine I work from home, so it's hard to separate work from home. However, every day when I finished working, I meditate for 15 minutes to basically close off "work mode" and start "relax mode" No intense stuff after 2030: Your mind needs time to unwind, especially when you have a busy schedule. After 2030 I don't do work, use my phone or any other thing that spikes brain activity. Hope it helps man, I know how much it sucks to not sleep.
Oh, I forgot: No caffeine after 1200. Caffeine stays in the body for a long time, which really kills your sleep. I also started taking magnesium. Working out, sweating, stress, they all use a lot of magnesium. Magnesium helps to relax the body and helps with sleep.
Digging the daily vlogs dude. We are in the same chapter of life (just got married, bought a home, focusing on fitness and what’s important). Looking forward to my 10 minute cardio warmup now watching these 🤙🏼 last set, best set.
Caffeine and stimulants no later than 2pm. Blue light glasses. Turn lights off an hour before bed. Watch sugars and food 4 hours before bed. No fluids an hour before bed also helps people not get up middle of the night to pee. 😂 Gym helps me be tired personally. Last thing is magnesium. At the end of stressful days, magnesium helps body relax on top of all things listed above. Of course, making sure you’re on top of blood work and vitamins during the day.

I can be in bed at 10pm start thinking about all the things I want to change in my house, my kitchen, my flooring, my backyard, then I start thinking about all these things I want to do with life, start scrolling through my phone. Next thing I know it’s 1am I didn’t even go to sleep. It’s a battle everyday for me
Hey Steve! I experience the same issues before sleep. Something I’ve tried doing is reading inspiring stories before bed time instead of stimulating my mind with work related things. I’ve also started using an eye mask and it’s a cue to my body once the eye mask is on that it’s time to wind down.
Not sure if you’ve already checked out the Huberman Lab podcast on sleep, but it’s very insightful and has useful protocols to help promote optimal sleep. Loving the consistent videos and routine from you man!
Working EMS, getting off at 8am after running high adrenaline and very well caffeinated for the last 24 hours sleep comes harddd, definitely feel you on the nightly ceiling duty

Steve you have an overwhelmed nervous system. Your mind keeps racing because your body is freaking out. You need to focus on regulation to get your body calm which will stop the overactive mind.
Little THC Steve just a little bit at night when needed. You seem like me and don’t like being very dependent on things. I do this once a in a blue moon helps quite a bit when need a good full nights rest
Take Magnezium Glycinate at 9pm, Turn off the lights. Watch a movie until you get sleepy and sleep in cold room. Coming from someone who's had very bad insomnia.
Steve I know youre prob not a drinker but a nice glass of red wine (has natural melatonin in it ) and a hot bath combo before bed will help knock you out almost guaranteed. Give it a try
But alcohol affects quality of sleep, so helps go to sleep, possibly, but in terms of deep sleep cycling, it's worse for us..better off to sleep a solid 4hrs sleep then a light 6 hrs sleep...
