Was there in July and loved it. 16 psi on the car for the 8 days. Yes Awinya Creek is absolutely special. Stunning sunsets too. The whale footage was unbelievable. Thanks.
That looked fantastic. I've been over twice now but still haven't been to the western side. Will definitely make the effort next time. Great video as always. Love your work.
Thanks guys. 22:35 I haven't seen soldier crabs in that number since I was a boy at breakfast time in the '60s on the mid-North coast of NSW at Crowdy Head beach.
You guys definitely got the OH WOW, I actually don’t think we’ve seen K’Gari displayed so stunningly. Well done, my jaw dropped with the whales. Beautiful family, beautiful captures, beautiful memories. I love your story telling and this is my latest favourite. Cheers Marg 💛
Ohhhhh Marg, you guys have literally made our day!!! We had an absolutely amazing time during our stay here and we put so much into this editing to give it the justice it needed. It's so nice that you have noticed :) We don't do this for the vanity, but the comment you made really hit the nail on the head, as we put a lot of time and effort into story telling through video. Thanks guys!
@@SmartTouringSystems oh lovelies, I totally relate. I’ve spent so much of my life editing videos and choosing music but at the end of the day, these beautiful keepsakes are for us and for those that wish to join us on our travels. Your episode is a stand out on RUclips, what wonderful memories for your girls. Keep them coming & thank you for sharing. We absolutely loved it! Cheers Marg & Steve 💛
As a fairly new subscriber to your page I was really impressed with the video. Great content and also great editing. I love Fraser, have been several times but never camped at Awinya creek. Will definitely stay there in the new year. Keep up the good work.
Cracking Ep guys to a awesome spot, I love k'Gari fished and camped there all my life, but my wife hates the dingoes around the camps there as her and her mates were put in the surf by a pack of them, so she is shirt scared of them now,
Hi STS, Awesome video Loved it Just a question about the camping spots Did you Pre book your different spots ? Or Book on the go during your trip ? Thanks
We got bogged also on the eastern side. To be honest it was mainly me not being on the ball. And could have possibly lowered tire pressures further. But yes a lighter van is always going to make it easier. 👍🏼
There were 3 tribes that frequented Fraser Island. The Butchulla tribe were the dominant tribe. Only 15 of their decendants have any knowledge of their spoken language. 26 million people in Australia know of the English language so it is offensive and racist to us to give preference to 15 people. What about those other two tribes who called it something else ? Regardless, the Butchulla mob had no written language and therefore no alphabet so only a virtue signalling do gooder would put a silent 'K' in the word that the Butchulla pronounce Gari. Most of us will still call it Fraser. Cancelling European Culture is offensive to most Australians
Absolutely no dramas mate. Just some common sense things like packing away your rubbish etc. Our kids are a bit older and we don't let them away from camp at night.

I fully respect your decision to still call it Fraser, but we had to call it what it is called, not my decision, not my preference it’s just a fact which I cannot control. We just enjoy sharing these places with a video and sometimes by the nature of this we inadvertently offend someone, if we had of titled it incorrectly as Fraser Island we also would have offended someone. 🫣

Welcome aboard! and thanks for the kind words, part 2 of our Fraser adventure will be out very shortly.

Thanks for watching mate. There where a lot of dingoes on the eastern side that's for sure, however we never felt threatened.
Coongal creek to the south or wathumba to the north - heaps more to do
A great watch … thanks guys .. are there doggy day cares readily available? What was the day cost ?
Not sure about doggy day cares around the area sorry.
West is so beautiful but I've heard the sand flies can carry you away. Never camped on that side but definitely on the cards.
awesome video. What camera do you guys use?
Thanks for the kind words. Just a gopro and and up to date iPhone. Plus my wife is amazing on the editing.
Hi STS,
Awesome video
Loved it
Just a question about the camping spots
Did you Pre book your different spots ?
Or
Book on the go during your trip ?
Thanks
Yes and yes did a bit of both mate. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Fraser Island
Woo hoo!! Sold!!
Mate, that's me!! Nice and quiet side of Kalgarri!! ❤️❤️
Question, did you only get bogged the once? Do you think if you took the 490 you still would've got bogged?
We got bogged also on the eastern side. To be honest it was mainly me not being on the ball. And could have possibly lowered tire pressures further. But yes a lighter van is always going to make it easier. 👍🏼
Good one. Can’t wait to camp there with my boat. Is the Telstra mobile at awinya?
thanks for watching. No reception mate
So even though there is no fires allowed on the island.. its good to know we can still take the old scholl webbers over
Yeah the only naked flame it the fire lighters for a couple of minutes then it just smoulders away.
Just don’t let rangers see it, you will still get a fine as it is not enclosed. Only legal device is an ozpig
Best beach camp ever .. those shells smell like poo though 😂😂
I don't know if I like big 4WDs wheeling around these sensitive island areas... but .... yeah.
F R A S E R I S LA N D. When they build something they can name stuff
'They'

Yep true
With that logic Aussies and the English language is fully ripped off from other cultures so stop talking please...
@@sidstevens9035 oh have a sook would ya, ya skirt 🤡
How did you go with the dingos and kids?
Absolutely no dramas mate. Just some common sense things like packing away your rubbish etc. Our kids are a bit older and we don't let them away from camp at night.
iriganji jelly fish there kids get stung all the time
Yes they are a risk in certain seasons.
Umm, you DO realise that seat belt laws apply on Fraser Island... Errr, DON'T you???
