I've owned 3 Saabs in my life, they are great cars. It was a sad day when they stopped production.

Sitting here watching this remind me of sitting in SAABWAY classes in Georgia, That's when they would fly dealership employee out for the week for training one of the bettercar companies back then until the bean counters at GM ruined them.

I'm so upset that our only dealership has closed in Hawaii!!!!!! I love my SAABS and I especially love the one I bought in Germany. it's the 2006 Aero (9-3, no 9-5's made that year)... but my baby is 11 years old and I absolutely love this car out of all the cars I've ever owned!!!❤️🇺🇸🤙

Dayna Hello. You are incorrect on an item in your post. The 9-5 was built for the 2006 model year. In fact, that was the first year of the face lift model.

40 years later innovation.... still needs head gaskets? Just bought a 2002 9-5 wagon, very nice shape with records, needing window regulator track repair and after getting it started, a head gasket. Something for the wife to drive.

I know I'm late to the party, but here are my suggestions based on owning one. Check ALL the power options (seats, sunroof, ALL door locks, including trunk), run AC and heat on full, check SID display for pixel burn-out.
Under hood, do all the checks you would with any car, but pay attention to oil change history - it's critical on a turbo, and the oil flow has a restrictive component that encourages gunk build=up and eventually can lead to engine failure. There is a after-market fix available and you should look for more info on forums and YT.

Depends on how you see if, But for the most Yes. Mainly becouse it dosen't have the shitty turbo gt17, But insted a td04. Cheaper and better(If you ask me). To convert a 2.3t or 2.0t to an aero! :)

I owned two two Saab before 2001. It looks nice and drive good because of turbo charge. When it comes to repair, Saab is piece of junk, no dealer is nearby within 60 miles. Then GM destroyed the Saab Brand and stopped the production. Thousands of Saab owners got no service any more. I would never purchase a GM products.

There was a reason SAAB needed to be rescued by GM in 1990. It was failing. All was well until 2003 when GM forced production and design into their Russelsheim Opel shop and stopped allowing SAABs to be Swedish. BUT GM's supply chain allowed for the installation of Japanese transmissions and turbos [more reliable]. BUT GM should have allowed them to keep the car different and quirky- not turn it into a Swedish 3 Series...
