Hi @Jesse, many thanks for this. I just started exploring design for passionafter the redundancy and hope to make a living out of it. Its really helpful and guides me to the right direction. A question:Are these platforms still recommended for 2020? Do you have a vdo or resource for the latest tools and books for new starter? Cheers. Si 😊
Hey Jesse, you have become my morning motivation 😃😃.. While seeing your videos it feels like you are actually talking to me and solving all my problems without even knowing. 😊 After listening to this episode, I need to update my portfolio with some changes that you have mentioned. So after that I will love to show it to you, if you'll be interested in it. Hey man, thank you for being there. 😊 Keep growing n teaching nnn motivating. 😊 😊
Hey I'm a new subscriber from your Figma review, and I have really been enjoying your content! Here is my portfolio: nilsgermain.net Im a French university student in South Korea and I try to make a portfolio of my works. I want to get a job in UI/UX, web design but I just recently found interest in these subjects so I don't have that many web projects, is I try to show that I am versatile putting all kind of diverse works. In university I always get critiques for my works, but never for my portfolio and how I present my projects, is ill take a chance! cheers!
Hey Jesse! Just stumbled onto your page yesterday. Currently in binge watching mode! I just started embarking on the journey of becoming a self taught logo designer. Generally speaking, how many pieces of work should make up my portfolio? Also, what do you think of Inkscape as a first program to learn graphic design on? Thank you in advance!!
Hi Joel, thanks for watching the content. I think if you had 3-6 solid pieces of work in your portfolio that our really proud of it would speak volumes. I’m not a fan of Inkscape. I think there are better programs that will not hinder your growth.
@@JesseShowalter I know this is old but I just came across your videos they are excellent. like the original commenter I too just started learning and I have gimp and inkscape I was going to ask you your thoughts on it but I see someone else already did. Would you mind sharing some of the cons as to why you don't like inkscape? Thank you.
You are doing a great work. You are currently my role model. looking forward for your latest videos and trying to finish up watching all the videos you uploaded. Im just beginner would like to be a great designer like you! THANKYOU😍❣️

hello! i've been drawing all my life and was wondering if it'd be a good idea to scan my drawings and use them in my designs? as well as my portfolio, thank you!
awesome videos, really selfless of you to share your insights in video. will be sharing my work soon as i am a industrial designer whose getting into UI UX.
Jesse Showalter I'm actually a "frustrated" music education student in college so I find these type of videos perfect! I would love to know what software you recommend learning first for web design. At the moment I'm going through colt steeles course on web development and absolutely loving it!
+Caleb Taylor the first episode in the series is about learning and i recommend everybody learn a photo editing software and a vector editing software. If you want to focus on web design I would recommend Sketch for sure 👍🏼

Hey jassi ☺️
I have a blog www.thecodestuff.com ,did I need explicit domain name to build my portfolio or I can host my portfolio on my blog .
If it's a design portfolio, I would have a separate domain for people to see your work. It's all about you and your work, not your other interests.
Thank You for the informative information, very Helpful for a beginner....Enjoy Your Day, On My Way To See Your Next Video....
Thanks so much!!

I'm stoked that the videos are a help. Good design never changes, although the techniques or methods might. Your gonna crush it!!!
Thank you for this great video. Could you explain how to get a project to do for free on Behance or Dribble ? Thank you.
I think you just need to reach out to people and offer your services or just do your own concept projects as if they are for a client.
Can i Get a job from Photo Manipulation
sure, just get really good at it and specilize
