In Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence - Ascension players can experience all aspects of the life of a Warring States officer. For the first time in the series, they can advance from a Retainer to a Daimyō, a feudal lord, with Officer Play. This mode opens a world of possibilities: rise through the ranks with aid from other clans, through conquering the land, by following orders and advancing in status, or by overthrowing superior lords!
This exciting new mode also affects the way battles are experienced as players will have the opportunity to witness thrilling battlefields first-hand through the eyes of an Officer. Aiding in victory or defeat, every command made will affect the outcome of battle, with bonuses awarded for successful deployment of a new strategy. This installment also introduces Combat Quests: extra missions that appear in the course of battle and provide extra rewards upon completion. These dynamic objectives change based upon the tide of war and allow for more in-depth dramatic battle experiences.
Players will be able to exploit the entire breadth of strategic options available to them in Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence Ascension with the introduction of two new types of warfare, Siege and Naval battles. Full-scale Siege battles create a realistic simulation that allows blockades to be deployed as a defense mechanism, as well as the use of tunnels and cannons, to gain the strategic advantage over their opponent and overtake the enemy stronghold. Naval battles provide the option to carry out skirmishes and strategic blockades on vast bodies of water such as oceans, to overcome the enemy from every angle.

i'm new to the series (watched a bit of gameplay of the version that came last year out) what did they add in this if something is known?
The primary change is the addition of the ability to play as a common officer. You can basically start out as a Ronin, Officer, or Governor rather than just playing as the ruler, which is still an option. You can also rise through the ranks and declare independence or simply serve your lord to the best of your ability.
With Three Kingdoms 13, Koei already released something similar in their Three Kingdoms series (which is set in ancient China instead of feudal Japan), and there have been other RPG/character play focused games before. However, I'm excited for this one in particular because NA:SoI is by far their single best strategy game in terms of overall design and execution.
So the rank system is new, and the possibilitys that come with it are (betraying your lord ect.) new?
Zocker Schachtel Pretty much. Essentially it adds a dimension of RPG gameplay to the main strategy game.

One of the best strategy games I've ever played. The only downside is that sometimes, and not always, the enemy is predictable in battle.
Not only did the west finally get Nobunaga's Ambition, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms but we are also finally getting a Risshiden game of Nobunaga's Ambition.
Its been a damn good year for Koei strategy and I would love to see even more strategy games that they have made come to the west.
Here is hoping maybe a HD version of Risshiden 5 with English as a text language, no need to pay voice actors for English people love the authentic languages like in Yakuza.

I still remember the last time I played this game was as a junior high school that can't read the language and played this game like a lord killer with no politic strategy. Damned
This game is really fun but hard. I worked my way up from retainer to lord, but then I got demoted back down to retainer due to losing my assigned castle.

When I play ROTK and Nonunaga's ambition. I always hope that one day they combine one of these game with Kessen...now it finally happen....Hah...I'm glad I'm still alive.
Theres alot of stuff to grasp on too but at the same time i feel like its very simple. My guy became a lord within 6 years of service and my town has so much people that I always outnumber the enemy and shoot them to death.
So it's like Total War Tropico.
These games just keep getting better, although still holding out for when the combat is a combination of total war and dark souls or way of the samurai, the game is open world and character customization is deep as balls. Having said that, this game is still awesome.
Can't wait! Expansion to the best game of this console generation (In my humble opinion).

Well Pokemon Conquest actually is a crossover between Samurai Warriors and Pokemon
@@gwenhuginnold, but the strategic gameplay of Pokemon: Conquest is inspired by the NA series

Looking forward to this, hopefully will add some of the best features from Kessen and the DW/WO empires additions that I felt were missing from the game.

I own SOI and want to grab this as well but wondering if this game is JUST playing as a single character or can you also just play it as SOI with all the new stuff? I'd figure they would be separate modes but a preview I saw had you select a single character. For SOI style play would you just select the Daimyo right away and could you still control everyone?

HI KOEI , if you add to game MP campaign , i will buy it immediately .I still remember and play time to time Gengis Khan with friends . Also add possibility to use gamepad in PC version pls
please tell me we can reject getting promoted, I'd hate to raise into a daimyo cause it would be no different than playing the usual SoI

rando muser i am just bothered since if your leading an attack it makes more sense to use an close range weapon than an long range one. I don't care that he was using one on the top of the sanada maru since that makes sense
Matthew Robertson probably koei just wanted to picture him desperate enough to assassinate ieyasu and he think he couldn't reach as close to spear range? I don't know man, all I can do is start with "probably" lol
rando muser yeah they probably just wanted to show how much he wanted ieyasu dead and it only one small thing.still going to enjoy playing as yukimura and beating the tokugawa.
Don't be fooled by the battle grahpics.... its not that good. Its a very niche game at best. Not for everyone.
PrimeChaosVC yeah , battles are meh , compared to shogun 2, but the game is really really good
