    Having driven vws with matrix lights I have to say they are absolutely amazing tech and light years ahead of tesla

    Good shine and wide spread. Seems to be good at registering and blocking oncoming cars. I personally like the blocking of signs when they get too bright.
    Thanks for uploading! 😃

    Amazing - thank you for your video- i am so excited- I am waiting for my Ariya E-4ORCE to be delivered in June 🤞🤞🤞. It has been delayed here in UK several times already. I went for a green colour & full spec option. Cannot wait. I will share my experience with you.
    Is yours E-4ORCE ?
    The only thing that the car is lacking of in my opinion is roof rails - i absolutely love cars with roof rails- it gives them that extra look- especially SUV’s.
    Japan and USA are the only countries I know of that you will be able to get them in with roof rails.
    Cheers

    • @nissanelectrified9583

      I'll do one, yes. But it's fairly unspectacular. The car sorta hides from you that it's an EV and will only prompt you towards a charger or your battery capacity if you are running low. That makes sense, since the car has lots of range and seems to charge best when it is nearing empty. That said, the internal sat nav is very very good. It's a tom tom based system with life traffic, which is on par with Google Maps. So this is one of the few systems that actually has a reason to exist.

      @@nissanelectrified9583 but can't you plan a long trip and see where the car wants to charge. A bit like tesla? I have seen that you can plan something in the app?

    • @nissanelectrified9583

      Yes, it will prompt you towards a charging stop if needed, I have seen that happen. I’ll make a video shortly.

    I have an Ariya Evolve in UK with these lights and they are 'brilliant'. I believe that should I drive in France I would not have to make any adjustments when driving on the right....unless anybody knows different?

    Gruss aus Belgien. Thankyou for the videos. Love the detail of your work. Its a big difference from the superfical fluff that is mostly posted here. Ive driven a TELSA Model S for the last five years, and went for a test drive in the ARIYA last week. The creature comforts and the build quality is better than the TESLA. The range was better than I expected. The thing that is holding me back is my concern about the long term quality and reliability. The ARIYA is a complex piece of tech, with lots of electronics (not that the TESLA has less and not had its own set of issues: SSD card in the MMC). I gather you are very happy with your ARIYA, but the prices is very close to that of a TESLA, would you be prepared to explain why you choose the ARIYA and not a TESLA? thanks

    • @nissanelectrified9583
      @nissanelectrified9583  2 года назад +1

      Hi Peter, that's easy: I used to drive a LOT, as in 70000Km a year. These times, it's less, but I still drive more than you would usually do and you can immagine that I went through quite a few manufacturers over the last decades. There is a reason why I got "stuck" with Nissan. The way they design and build a car is just different. They don't chase "spec sheets", they want to build a good car. And they follow a certain aesthetic. Nissan is not perfect of course, but they are among the better car builders out there, and they put their dealers in a position (by paying them a decent wage for warranty work) where they will happily will fix anything that might be not perfect.
      Concerning the comparison with Tesla: There will be a video on that soon! For now: the choice is not that hard, at least not for me :)
      What I can tell you: Long term quality should be at the bottom of your list when it comes to concerns. I've had several Nissans now and they aged better than anything I've seen out there.

      @@nissanelectrified9583 There are a couple of other plus points I could add. Nissan builds cars with framed windows (doors) These can freeze in the winter BUT the glass cannot freeze to the door frame, which can and does happen on TESLA - it happend to mine last winter - the window motor broke the lift mechanism inside the door (Euro 300 to replace). And the door handles cant freeze shut either!

      It was a pretty cumbersome contraption involving gorilla pod knockoffs holding the smartphone in front of my upper chest. I am currently searching for a better solution, just mounting it to the windscreen or so. Personally, I like the POV perspective though, especially when it comes to displaying how a lighting system works. You just get a much more realistic impression.

    can you please say something about this matrix light? Is it always part of the Evolve equipment? Is it the normal light or is it the low beam + high beam and does it work to block out oncoming traffic?

    • @nissanelectrified9583
      @nissanelectrified9583  2 года назад +1

      Hi Holger, to my knowledge, at least right now it's standard equipment on the Evolve in Germany. You'd have to check your local Nissan page to make sure it's the same where you live. It works like most modern Matrix systems. Low beam is low beam, high beam is facilitated via a matrix that blocks out oncoming traffic, so high beam is pretty much constantly on. On nice quirk of the Ariya is though, that the low beam is dynamic in it's throw, so on the Autobahn, it will shoot a LOT farther than normal and pretty much will be suffice even without the Matrix activated. This is especially nice since it means that you will have perfect lighting even in a very congested setting (in those cases, matrix lights tend to be more "off" than "on"). Hope that helped. It's awesome, you will love it I am sure!

      @@nissanelectrified9583I think the "problem" is the translation on the German website and in the brochures. In English it says "Adaptive driving beam and auto levelizer" and this is the case for the 63 and 87kWh version of the Ariya with evolve Pack.
      In the German version it has simply been translated as "high beam assistant" - which is actually something else...

    • @nissanelectrified9583
      @nissanelectrified9583  2 года назад +2

      The German site specificly names "High Beam Assist" for Advance models and "Adaptive High Beam Assist" for Evolve models. All good there.

  • @Mylittlemojo

    Is there headlight washers fitted on your Evolve?

    • @nissanelectrified9583
      @nissanelectrified9583  2 года назад +1

      No, no washers. Not sure if they would do much good with that sort of headlamp design though - they are that slim, plus they are placed right at the leading edge of the car, so that you probably would primarily spray your hood and windscreen…plus they are so wide, that you couldn’t possibly reach all elements anyways. So, regular car wash it is :)

    • @Mylittlemojo
      @Mylittlemojo 2 года назад +1

      Ok. I’ve seen pictures of Ariya with washers, that’s why I ask. Maybe they went away from it…
      Thanks for answering. 🙂

    • @nissanelectrified9583
      @nissanelectrified9583  2 года назад

      Interesting! Yeah, maybe it just didn't perform as desired...then again, Nissan and headlight washers is a weird story anyways. The J11 Qashqai had them, then they scrapped those, the X-Trail still got them though. I think the J12 never had them, the new X-Trail doesn't have them in all other parts of the world but has them in Europe...maybe they just roll the dice or so :D
