Nice review, I have the same bike. Just a small correction: the battery is 280 Wh, not 250. The bike is not as portable as a scooter, although I don't consider either a last-mile vehicle with ranges of over 25 km. I think the main advantage of an ebike compared to a scooter is that the bike can provide you with some exercise (if you choose so) while you just stand on a scooter. In addition, with the bike you don't have to be afraid of the battery going flat as you can ride it even with the flat battery.

I would like to be able to pack the bike in the baggage compartment of the plane I fly (Piper 28-181) and the door is 52x56 cm. It looks like it will be tight but might squeeze in. At the point of the highest spot there is some space from below so there is a chance it goes in. Appreciate your help!
I have both, Fiido D1 and Kugoo e scooter. For short distance I use scooter, but when it is raining or longer distance, I definately use fiido. 1st year impression is that I am really enjoying it. Some times I just go out riding because of the feeling.
I think it may be interesting to compare this FiiDO D2s with the fiido L2. The L2 get a 350w motor and a 20Amps Battery. This make this e-bike very "torquy" and its autonomy is incredibly good >70Km for about same weight. L2 get also a 2nd seat on the back on which you can attach a child seat or a rear bag without any problem. The price is about 700€. Both are very similar a bout the look and feel. It's a real pleasure to ride this e-bike.
Does Holland allow the three and four wheeled Invalid vehicles? I presume so, in UK it is absurd regarding electric scooters, 3 and 4 wheels good but two are forbidden. Being a Pulmonary Cripple, I could use an electric scooter to get up to local shops, being in a small flat the invalid vehicles would be impossible to get inside,or up narrow path, whereas a scooter would be ideal.
My son is looking for a FIIDO D2S however FIIDO are just launching the D11 which to me seems to be a significant step up in design and performance. Any comments?

I heard that having a moped mode on an electric bike is still illegal in the netherlands and a few other countries. Is there an easy way to disable the throttle? And how fast can it go on just the support setting? Is it easy to push/lift at the train station? How hard is it to get spare parts when something breaks? And does it have an eu certification?

@0:38 this annoyed me. They placed protection stickers where the clamps were, but negated to protect this area where the derailer smashes into when you fold it. First fold loads of chipped paint

Largely I think the "spirit of the law" is saying "Just don't be a prick" If you're in regular cycling gear they're unlikely to stop you anyway. I don't wear lycra as I have to use it for work (excluding Covid times), but I do wear overtrousers, and a super reflective jacket that I bought from mountainwarehouse, as well as my helmet and gloves. It's unlikely the police will ever stop me even if I rode an illegal bike given they see I'm trying to not be a prick whilst riding one lol! I did however buy a "Proper ebike" given I ride 13 miles to work and back
Pedal assist mode level 1: max speed is 10 km/h, level 2: max speed 15 km/h, level 3: max speed 20 km/h. You can definitely travel longer with the pedal assist modes than with full-electric mode, but the max speed is about 25 km/h with full electric mode.

@@MaxedMatthew - Dahon, Zizzo, Origami, Downtube, all are great folding bike brands, easily purchased online. You need to look at the different models to see which on suits your needs. Zizzo does have 1 special bike that maxes at a user weight of 300lbs. It's the folder I want to get next. Or, a Java Fit, which supposedly has a 360lb weight limit. The Java would be an import, as it's unavailable where I live (USA).
@@aszi77 - incorrect. The seat + seat tube add such a small amount of weight, that removing it only presents a risk of losing it during commuting. If a bike weighs 50 plus pounds, and a seat + post adds a pound, it's ridiculous to remove it.
@@thetds101 I have this exact bike so I speak from experience. The scenario is not commuting but putting it in a trunk. The saddle is in the way when you try to grab the bike, and also makes it heavier. It is a lot more convenient to lift it if you remove the saddle first.

Fiido is a good bike. But there customer service sucks..after our shop went round and round. With them trying to get parts, and warranty parts. More the once We no longer sell service or even let a fiido bike in our shop. Good luck on finding a shop that will work on it when it breaks.

Gears add weight, another point of failure and a rather hefty €54 to the price tag while a D1 with 10.4Ah battery is the same price as a 'basic' D2. The range given for the D2 is also only 20~35km instead of 25~40km for a 7.8Ah D1 and 40~55km for the 10.4Ah version. I must admit though a D1 looks even more like a toy, if appearance is important I would get the D2 for sure.

Yeah great bike with really small wheels but riding it you don't notice anything. When you need to replace it's going to be a challenge but Schwalbe has 'big apple' tires that fit and perform really good, going to swap tomorrow. Dunno what else to improve right now, it is good as it is.

Just an FYI: The seat is supposed to be pushed down into the frame, NOT removed. I own 8 folding bikes, so I have an idea of how this works. 😁

This bike is heavy, it's a lot easier to grab and lift it if you remove the seat instead of pushing it in.

When you need to replace it's going to be a challenge but Schwalbe has 'big apple' tires that fit and perform really good, going to swap tomorrow. Dunno what else to improve right now, it is good as it is.

You have only to keep the left-right brake pushed while you switch on the bike for 5-10 second! For return to the normal mode same process! :)

Does anyone who owns the bike can check something for me? What is the height of the bike when folded when the saddle is completely removed? I would like to be able to pack the bike in the baggage compartment of the plane I fly (Piper 28-181) and the door is 52x56 cm. It looks like it will be tight but might squeeze in. At the point of the highest spot there is some space from below so there is a chance it goes in. Appreciate your help!
