hello iam thinking to buy this .do you know can i deactivate pure electric mode;(use only pedal mode and moped mode),in my country is not allowed to drive e-bikes with pure electric mode without licence ,unless this is deactivate at 6km/h speed.
I made a recent video (year on review) of the Fiido D2S and I mention about deactivating it. I think if you follow the cable from the throttle to where it goes into frame you can unplug it there. Let me know if you need any more details.
I have no idea how to make it go faster. I know in other E bikes you can connect to the motor via a computer to unlimit them, but don't think the motor in this bike is as safisticated.
Watch out for the rear mudguard many people have problems where the wheel catches the mudguards and it’s dives right into the wheel which can damage it a lot I took my mudguard off
Scrap that Dan, I can’t think how many times I’ve watched this vid already and forgot about the part where you used the throttle only on the hill!🤦🏼♀️🤯😂
From January 1 2016, the only throttles legal within the UK’s EAPC legislation are those that assist the rider without pedalling up to a maximum speed of 6 km/h (3.7 mph) - i.e. starting assistance only. If the motor is more powerful than 250W, or if it assists you when you’re riding more than 15.5 mph, then it will need to be registered, insured and taxed as a motor vehicle. In this case, you will also need a driving licence, and you must wear a motorcycle helmet. Hope this helps!
No particular reflection on the Fiido, (I've ordered this model), but almost all these cheap Chinese bikes have a twist-and-go throttle up to 25 KPH. Why, I wonder, do no reviewers mention that this feature is illegal in the UK? It makes it into a motorcycle with all the attached expense of tax, insurance, full helmet, and eventually MOT.
If I can get a hold of one I will, slightly more expensive than the Fiido and a few kilograms heavier. The wheels look bigger though so might go abit faster.
I had a look on their site and couldn’t see India on their list. Might be worth dropping them a message and seeing if they have any distributors out in India. Sorry if this doesn’t help! Let me know how you get on!
