So for the icing - whip your butter in the mixer first, then add all your sugar at once while the mixer is off along with your milk and vanilla. Before you turn it on again, drape a kitchen towel over the top of the mixer so it covers the bowl up. Any mess from the powdered sugar will be contained 👍🏻
I also mix cream cheese to the butter and vanilla. Mix it all together then add your sugar a cup at a time.
Throw a towel over your mixer while mixing

Your cake turned out just beautiful. The flowers are so pretty and what a wonderful frosting job. What a fantastic sister you are. You are a true party planner.
On the frosting you can also do half butter half soften cream cheese and it makes a wonderful cream cheese frosting. And if you add cocoa butter it's a lovely chocolate cream cheese frosting.
For buttercream frosting ALWAYS whip your butter FIRST for literally 5 minutes. It will double & turn into a very light color. Only then add you powdered sugar, then very little milk or cream like tablespoon for every cup of butter. also invest in a frosting spatula & periodically dip in hot water for a smoother finish. To prevent powdered sugar cloud put a large tea towel over your mixer during that mixing time. Turned out fantastic!
Seeing you and Ella do things together reminds me of all the activities my mom would let me do with her when I was a little girl. They are memories of my mom that will forever be in my heart.🙏❤ Im sure it will be for Ella too.🙂

You re so nice to host a party for your sister. I do that too, its nice being together and make somebody feel sooo special. Houses in Italy are way smaller then in the usa, so it s a little more difficult to fit a lot of people inside 😅

Luckily I don’t use powdered sugar in my buttercream or it would be a huge mess but I’m a professional pastry chef and my specialty is wedding cakes. I suggest you try making an Italian buttercream or a Swiss buttercream. It’s not too difficult and tastes amazing! Happy to help if you would like any tips :) love your channel

Kitchen aid mixer attachment that covers the top and has a spout to put the powder in. I used it putting in flour mostly but you can use it for any powder so it doesn’t fly up and make a mess.
Hey Tiffani, cut a slit in a paper plate and place it over the mixing attachment. It should fit nicely over the mixing bowl so the powder sugar doesn’t fly everywhere . 😊

I'm one of 13 with one in heaven, my older brother passed 8 yrs ago. Hes always on our minds, especially at family things like birthdays. I totally understand why you mentioned your lost sibling.. I'm glad you got to celebrate your sister, you did a lovely job on her party!!
When I'm decorating cakes I like to put the icing in a piping bag and put a thin layer on the top as you do. Then make icing stripes around the cake. If you want to you can make small icing dots on the top of the stripes and on the middle of the top. Perfect for puting decoration like flowers in. Here in Norway people like to use just whipped cream on top of our white cakes. We also like to fill and drcorate our cakes with berries. Our most famous cake is a white cake filled with berries and vanilla cream and decorated on top with whipped cream. So good and so easy. Awesome video as always. Hugs.

My grandma taught me to put the batter in the pan & then drop it lightly on the counter a couple of times to get the bubbles out.
