I love how the parents sleep with the baby in their bed, without keeping him in a separate room like most parents do. It gives the baby a sense of security, love and warmth, and above all, the bond with his parents, the perfect foundation for a happy caring and content adult. When the child is a little older and ready, he could have his own room. Until then, this is the perfect way to bring up a happy baby.
If you can get a good night's sleep like that, and feel rested in the am, power to you. I loved snuggling with my youngest, but if they are that rowdy and you have to work the next day? Interesting that pediatricians don't recommend babies in bed for safety reasons. Not great for "sleep hygiene." Somewhere there are boundaries...

I disagree Eleise, I feel parents should have their own space once baby is clean, fed and (should be) asleep. Parents need alone time, more so after baby arrives.

Look up studies of foster babies who were fed well and clothed well, yet did not grow as big nor had the brain development of those who were hugged and touched often. Not to mention that babies who are left alone are many times more likely to fall prey to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Just ask Elon Musk what happened to his first child at 10 months.

this is how my son Azariah sleeps every night he is almost 18 months and he moves a lot in his sleep he is all over the place lol so hard to get a full night's rest sleeping next to him but I do love his cuddles

Take it from an old granny....make sure that he is fed, clean, safe and put him in his own bed. You can always give him a toy to play with and he doesn't have to lie down or go to sleep immediately but eventually he will learn to self soothe himself. Otherwise you're going to be so tired and sleep deprived that you are not going to be able to function 🙃
That kid is why God made babies so cute!! And funny! I had one just like that. Would not allow my eyes to be closed. Would slap and poke. Now she has a baby. But she will only sleep in her own crib in a dark room!! She better have another one so I see her getting my revenge! Lol But g-baby is a huge tease, so I get some satisfaction.

The original comment meant that, yes, while the mother is responsible for her child's safety (duh), that doesn't mean other helpers can't step in so she can catch up on things her own body requires of her, like sleep and food, because she doesn't stop functioning as a person once her baby enters the picture.

I did this to my 12 year old when he was a baby. But I have only child. Parents who want many children might not be able to do this.
