what i like about Billy is that he reads the game well he isn't just running around on the pitch he actually understands the game
Might actually contrast your opinion and what most of the English fans think, but Mason mount is the example of what you say Gilmour isn't. I fail to see the effectiveness of his aggressive pressing. Yes, his work rate is excellent but his pressing and awareness is not as good as most of the fans proclaimed. He failed to connect quick passes sometimes. He did well to score a goal in one earlier game of the season but all the rest of the game he has been running pointlessly in my opinion. He is a young player and he still has a lot of room for improvement but he should be given his space to improve.

@@jasonblack4729 Maybe. And maybe I expect much more off him. He is a brilliant attacker who can score goals but his reading of the game and involvement in the overall game play can improve. Maybe it's all because of Lampard style of play or maybe not. Whatever the case, he has tons of energy to be able to keep running all through the games so if he can incorporate tactical pressing, positioning and running behind the line into his game, he can can go all the way. For now, I think he needs more time. But that's just my opinion and how I see it.

I don't think Lewis is quite as good as Billy is he's a talented boy but Billy plays with a maturity and football IQ beyond his years, I think if Lewis was ready he'd be in the first team

Even if other players wise up to him he’ll be improving all the time... football’s played with ur head and Billy Gilmour has demonstrated some of the best spatial awareness in the prem. It’s a bit insulting that saying his two back to back motm performances were just because he was being underestimated.

Rewatching this as Gilmour has returned to training and just noticed in the game against Liverpool Azpi checks behind him when he wants to push up to Robertson and sees Gilmour covering Origi so he can go ahead and block Robertson.
He needs time to prove more. He is pure talent and well oriented player. I think if he can get at least 20-25 matches in a season, it would be very useful for him as a young boy
