DUDE! I am honoured to be named GM. Thank you. I am really happy to see your subscriber numbers growing quickly, you deserve it, keep up the great work!
You definitely get a point for the pink jersey, it really helps distract from those all white pads lol.
You've got me thinking I should start recording my games to catch little things like the blocker angle you were talking about.
I'm the same height as you, aka average height for a person, but short for a goalie. I've really worked on my flexibility to try to compensate. I can't get my legs to grow any longer, but I can get them to stretch further.
Fun fact, In Canada we typically can't buy cat eye cages for goalie masks. They aren't CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved, so retailers aren't allowed to import them. Occasionally my local sporting goods store accidentally gets shipped a few cat eye cages, but generally I have to order them online from a US retailer. Which really sucks when my cage gets bent and I have to hope I can get a new one delivered in time for my next game. Plus I then have to pay duty on it once it arrives, so it ends up being a bit expensive, but still think it's worth it.

What’s up GM. And that’s wild you can import and use them? You just can’t buy them in Canada? So if you have one on the ice it is legal to play with but have to buy it from outside of Canada?

I always found going back and looking at footage was important to figure out what you are consistently getting wrong and identifying bad habits. If you haven’t done it in a while things tend to jump out right away

@@Jbeen3596 Yeah, it's pretty illogical. It does depend on what league you're playing in, you can't use the cat eye cage in minor hockey or junior hockey, but most men's leagues allow them. The league I play in just asks me to sign an additional section of the waiver we all sign to be able to play. I just sign the extra bit that acknowledges I'm using a cat eye cage and I accept the risks of doing so.
Retailers aren't allowed to import them, but if they get them "accidentally" they are allowed to sell them, which is just further silliness. As a private citizen I'm allowed to buy them from outside of Canada and have them shipped to me. It's all so strange, and I really wish we'd just allow the cat eye cage CSA approval.
Recreational hockey is the leading cause of adult blindness in Canada, but I can tell you, it's not because goalies are wearing cat eye cages, it's hosers not wearing visors or cages on their player helmets.
(Hoser is Canadian slang for dummy, typically used to refer to rural Canadians, but not exclusively, kind of like redneck or hillbilly).
