Let’s agree as a community, a crew of you will. That this song hits hard. Sub or dub this song touches your soul in ways you never something could. You know Brooks got some real backbone! This is a man who has lost EVERYTHING! His crew, his life, his body. He spent fifty years alone on an empty ship in the middle of nowhere. Yet he still manages to walk through the streets with a smile on his face and a skip in his step. He may be a bit of a coot but considering what he went through we are lucky he is not "Hannibal Lector" level insane.
A toast to Brook!
Quinn Fletcher i think his promise to the whale really helped him in this regard because purpose really helps keep your sanity in my opinion
Not to mention that time spent alone was amongst the corpses of his best friends. Serious backbone indeed.

The best part is Brook's positivity even after going through all of it. It would drive any normal person insane
The way he acts in the anime, kinda shows he lost SOME sanity. I’d think his constant positivity is a side affect of his constant loneliness those 50 years on that sea.
@@feldsparkobold2508 it's very much in the realm of possibility that the lonliness taught him positivity even more but there's also that we have seen his past and he was as cheerful as now, maybe bit less now that he knew what it feels to die and he's happy he's alive
@@msonisama8656 Thing is though there is one thing to consider, it's the Grand Line, he probably is insane anyway. I would say that it's kinda both your points. His positivity is there because he has been alone for so long and he wants to enjoy it as much as possible.

A group of young boys and girls were playing pirates on an island.
Suddenly one of the boys stop. "Hey guys hear that?"
"Hear what?" says another kid from the group.
"shhhh....listen"
They all pause and listen. They hear a faint but clear violin
echoing from the top of a hill near the shore. It is a familiar tune pirates
used to sing a long time ago. "Common let's go!" says the first boy and everyone else start
running towards the direction where the music was coming from.
They finally reach reach the top of the cliff and they find a tall skeleton with an afro sitting
alone and playing violin in fromt of some tombstones. The kid walks towards him when they
saw the tombstones clearly. They were no names.
Upon looking closer, they saw there were some items placed on each on the individual tombstones.
One had three swords, one had books, one had a slingshot, one had a metallic rod, and so on.
The kid came quietly and and stood behind the skeleton who was sitting in front of a tombstone which bigger
than the others and was placed right at the center. That tombstonewas also unmarked but there was an old
straw-hat on top of it with a jolly roger of a skull and cross-bones with the skull wearing a straw hat.
One of the kids who a bit older then the other gasps.
"Mugiwara no luffy..." he mumbles.
the skeleton stop playing and turns around.
"Oh hello there" the skeleton speaks with a gentle tone raising his hat with his hand to greet them.
"Did you know him The P...Pirate king?" gasps the kid.
The skeleton becomes silent for a few seconds and lets out a gentle
yohoho.
" Yes, he was my captain" smiles the skeleton.
All of them gasps astonished.
Their eyes widen and smiles.
"Did you really sail with the Pirate King!?" one of them exclaims.
"Well of course i did little one, I was blessed with the honor to be the the ship musician
because every pirate crew needs music you see!"
"What were they like? The pirate king and his crew?" exclaims another, all excited.
"Oh where to begin! Well for starters, our shipwright was an eccentric yet brilliant cyborg who only ever drank
cola. Our archeologist was a young lady who was troubled by her past yet
found a friendship with all of us. Our ships doctor was a tiny racoon-dog, reindeer fellow. The marksman
pf the ship was a coward, but also noble and good-hearted. Our navigator was a foxy young woman with
a nasty habit of stealing. The cook was a hothead and constantly tried to one-up with our first mate,
who later become the worlds greatest swordsmen and..."
"And the captain? The Pirate King?!" interrupts the older kid.
"our captain was the glue that held us all together, or should i say the rubner band? Yohoho! He was a spirit
as free as the breeze that filled our sails and pushed all of us from the East blue to the Grand line, and on to
raftel where he found the One Piece."
A gentle wind blew across the cliff tousing their hair. They were all speechless.
"And if i were to say any more, i would say they were my family, and i miss them very much"
simles the skeleton.
suddenly they hear a sound coming from the ocean. The kind of sounds whales make. The kids looked
from the edge of the cliff and saw a huge whale with scars all over its forehead crests, and shooting water
through its blowhole.
The skeleton looks at the kids and laughs.

As someone who watches the show subbed, I'm _very_ impressed with this dub of the song. We Are was really well done too (if only they had done the second verse too!)
XxLUIGIxX56 There is nothing sad about it for the crew. Since Brook joined the crew.
@Pixygon: Vic Mignogna was the vocalist for We Are and a number of other opening and closing songs for One Piece and other Funimation properties over the years. He has a great voice.
Like others here, I think the actor who portrays Brook nailed his version of Bink's Brew.
I feel very motivated to learn both piano and violin every time I hear this. I love this song.
i love how one piece is so universal and can connect so many people, it truly is the greatest piece of fiction ever written
There are two ways to tell someone's a one piece fan when you play this:
1: They start singing with you
2: They start crying with you
Edit: This is is easily my most liked comment, holy shit.
or they start singing and crying with you
@@rdrexm4882 me
@@rdrexm4882 I never said they were mutually exclusive.
yep thats right i remember my cousin and i cry to this song its so sad that brook live all along on his crew all of sudden so we started to listen in YT and started to watch OP
Or they recognize Lola at the start :)
Picture this:
Luffy becomes the king of pirates after an intense war, all of luffys allies and friends gather, and sing this
Don’t know to cry or laugh when it happens.
@@sufyanadi2299 why not both.
I honestly think the ending of One piece is going to be the straw hats parting to go their own way, and one of the last scenes will be this song playing as we see where each goes.
I just know for 100% sure that with the way the writing goes in one piece one of the final scenes will involve Brooke playing this song from the tone dial for Laboon.
I would sing along and cry because that is the biggest possibility of what could happen
Yeah just waiting for the one piece ending so that we can laugh and cry together 😉
Man this never fails to give me chills
I totally love this!!!! you did g great job!
this song is going to hit different when an episode ends with " THE END" instead of "TO BE CONTINUED".🙂
So true
dont make me weep 😭😭 im already close to crying
Shut up 😂😂😂😂😂
STOP IM SOBBING 😭😭😭 I’m gonna have a legitimate heart attack if/when it says the end instead of to be continued.
GOD DAMN IT DONT BREAK MY HEART 😭
Oda stated that when he wrote the lyrics for the song in the manga, he went with Kohei Tanaka (the creator of the one piece soundtracks) and that he made the melody for the song, so that it wouldn’t be a mess when trying to make in the anime. So the song was ready before the anime showed it. Just in case you didn’t knew :))
btw this was told by Oda in an SBS
Oda, continuing to eternally flex on the rest of humanity. The mad lad just went and wrote a song for his series and got the music done. Twice. (At a minimum). (Also if you don’t remember it’s here and the music for the vinsmokes when they have the epic power rangers transformation).
I love that when this happened Oda thought it would come up in a year or so. Ended up being 4 or 5 years instead.
one of the finest minds of our times
And the song was done 5 years before it appeared in the anime
Oda is so.. fking talented
This song give me goosebumps wait i dont have skin ...
Yohohoho
Hey k1ba, When One Piece concludes, it's possible we'll have moved on with our own lives and even lost touch. Let's agree to reunite here on that day, wherever we may be in the world. Thank you for being a friend.
Can't wait to hear this on the last episode it gonna hit different
LITERALLY 😭😭
And We Are in the credits 😭 😭
@@AnnihilationXable man.. even hearing we are at the end of alabasta made me shed a tear hearing it on the end of onepiece would surely make cry.
ワンピースは終わらない!
I just don't want to imagine 😭🙂
Yesterday the italian Brook's voice actor died. We are listening to this song in his honor.
VoldoNightmare fakeeee
Not fake.
From what I just looked up the actors name is Ian Sinclair and he is still alive from what I was able to see.
I said the ITALIAN voice actor.
oh ok
It brought me to tears at the end. O e piece the goat of all anime for its heart felt moments. Continoue to do great work Oda.😊
Man, Every time I hear this song I always have to put it on repeat because it may be sad but it's sooo good too.
I SWEAR TO GOD IF THEY DONT MEET LABOON AGAIN I WILL CRY.
I think at the end, they’ll do another time skip that serves as a “where are they now” segment.
Luffy will be pirate king (hell it might end with him being executed in lougetown and making the same proclamation about his treasure, setting off a new pirate era)
Zoro will be the world’s greatest swordsman and will be challenged by a young swordsman in a shifting of roles kinda like him and Mihawk.
Nami will have made a map of the world.
Robin will be studying the void century.
Chopper will be a professional doctor of the same popularity as Hogback, though without the whole, evil psychopath side.
Usopp will still be a pirate but as the captain of his own crew potentially going by the epithet “sniper king” as a nickname.
Franky will have made the final battle Franky. Potentially the size of an island kinda like Thriller Bark.
And Brooke will have kept his promise to Laboon and since he’s fully grown, sailing the seas with him.
they definitely will. Oda will tie up all loose ends i have 100% faith in him
I feel that story will end with Brook eventually making it back but on his own. The straw hats long dead and Brook finally fulfilling the promises of both Captains.

My brother and I have been watching One Piece for a long time, we ended up reading the manga to be up to date, my brother passed away a few days ago and his last voyage was to egghead island. We even planned to watch Film Red this weekend, but now he won’t be able to, listening to this, it hits a lot harder. But I’ll continue to watch it, for him and all the other Nakamas who left too soon..
I'm so sorry for your loss, but I hope you continue to enjoy what you and your brother both loved
I am sorry for your loss. I am sure this song will be played when Luffy will become the King of the Pirates and your brother will dance with joy in heaven. 🍻
May he rest in peace
I'm sorry for your lost may he rest in peace
he was a true strawhat to the end.
The connection of this song to the story is far deeper than i initially thought, its as if the lyrics are actually telling stuff that happened or might happen.
Take the bit for example:
""Somewhere in the endless sky, stormy winds are blowing wide, evening comes, its time to sound the drums, but steady men they never fear, tomorrow's sky is always clear, so pound your feet and clap your hands, till sunny days return."
This is literally Luffy vs Kaido fight.
The stormy winds in the evening being Kaido roaming over the skies of Onigashima, the fearless men being Straw Hats and all the samurai alliance fighting back.
Time to sound the drums - literally Drums of liberation.
Pound your feet, clap your hands - Luffy in Gear 5 having fun fighting.
Till sunny days return - Sun God Nika has returned.
Makes me wonder if the rest of the lyrics somehow also are telling what MIGHT happen in the future.
"After all is said and done" - Luffy finding One Piece becoming pirate king.
"You'll end up a skeleton" - Might be about Brook being the last one straw hat remaining as he is esentially immortal.
"So spread your tale, from dusk till dawn, upon these foamy seas" - Brook passing the story about Luffy's adventure and all what happened over to next generations.
This song can bring all of us together as fans or not great song and we all can agree it brings a tear to mY eye

One piece has entered it's final saga. Let us comeback here after the one piece ends nakama
This song invokes so much emotion, brings me to tears every time. It's essentially a song about life. Something about that Yohoho reverbs throughout your soul. Adventure, laughter, pain, and the colorful aspects of navigating through life. It's a happy sad combination that overwhelms your soul. "Wave goodbye, but don't you cry, our memories remain. Our days are but a passing , everlasting though they seem." My little brother was a major one piece fan, and in many ways he reminded me of Luffy. He's been gone over ten years, and the memories definitely remain.
