The screams in the RBB are actually Irene's scream. It's in the song as well. And RBB is actually one of my RV's fav song because it so fun to sing along.

Power Up dropped in the midst of a heat-wave in Korea, and the message of the song really resonated with the country and became the fastest ALL-KILL by a girl-group up to that point.
10 years previously, Korea had suffered a near total economic collapse and Power Up celebrated Korea's position as a top technological provider to the world and their hard-won prosperity.
Fun fact... Power Up came in at #36 on Billboard's list of the top 100 music videos of 2018.
Only Kpop group to make the list.
And I'm still convinced that RBB was a gigantic troll-job on all the bandwagon stans who crawled out of the woodwork during the Bad Boy era.
The howls of outrage when it *wasn't* "Bad Boy 2.0" were deafening.

honestly for RBB you have 3 kinds of people:
the ones mad it's not bad boy 2.0
the ones who say its too similar and IS bad boy 2.0 (based on the name alone)
and the people (like me) who are still stunned at the crazy vocals years later

11:24 yes, totally part of the song! And it was Irene (the main rapper!) that hit that note, it's the highest recorded note by an idol!
Peek-a-Boo is so damn iconic! From that cinematic MV to the choreo to the song that perfectly mixes both of their sides. It's one of my favorite title tracks! Most common theory for the MV is that they're witches/werewolfs/some kind of supernatural cult, that kill pizza delivery boys every full moon - their mansion is filled with weapons, old pizza boxes and glass cases displaying their trophies (the different tshirts of the boys). At the end, when he tries to call for help, you can see that the pay phone is covered with pictures of missing delivery boys. Between the full moons they practice and once it's time they have their fun - playing around with the unsuspecting boy, even pretenting to "free" him before hunting him down. It's amazing :D Power Up is the total opposite! Southkorea had one of the hottest summers in 2019 and to symbolize that everything is probably melting in the beginning. Otherwise that MV doesn't have any wild theories as far as I know. Fans love to say that the girls eat their CDS and that's why they sound so good singing live - so the fruits turning into CDs could maybe be a small shoutout to that. RBB was released in November 30 - so a month late for Halloween, which bothered some, but it's release was a homage to Michael Jackson's Thriller that was released on the very same day 36 years earlier x) and the MV is wonderfully campy like some "crappy" horror movies! The song itself wasn't that greatly received, mostly because most excepted a sequel to Bad Boy and didn't like the vocal acrobatics and repetitiveness. Honestly I myself wasn't sure about it after the first listening, but after watching the live performance I was all in and the RBB EP is pretty much perfection!
Zimzalabim is next up! I'm excited to see how you reponse to that song. It's one of the love it or hate it kind :D I love it, it's such a rollercoaster and just fits them, I'm not sure any over group could've pulled it off as well as them.

Peek A Boo MV, when they were running around in the house playing hide & seek you can see that there were many other t-shirts already kept as trophies!!! Red Velvet is known for having a different style everytime they comeback so if you stan RED VELVET you will never get bored.

Hahaha your face when Joy was on the table! At 2:17 you can see them running past the display cases of shirts they "collected" before and at 4:33 you can see all of the posters for missing delivery boys on the side of the payphone... RV mvs always feel like a fever dream, or an acid trip. RBB and Married To The Music are my favourite campy Halloween mvs! Yes Irene's scream is so melodic haha. RBB is such an underrated title track, one of their best bridges imo. Can't wait for your Zimzalabim awakening next time!

1) 5:20 there are actually theories explaining Peekaboo music video but I'm too lazy to explain and type here lmaooo. Long story short, the girls were sort of vampires (mv starting with them sleeping) . and yeah, they killed the pizzaboy. Also if you look carefully at the phone booth (4:38) , those are the posters and pictures about "missing delivery boys" so yeah, the girls keep killing them. maybe you can try watching some videos on RUclips because there are channels that explain the theories in a more understandable way.
2) 6:15 Power Up is a summer song so that explains the melting part. Power Up broke the record being the first SM song to achieve PERFECT ALL KILL on Korean music streaming platforms (#1 on every charts - daily, weekly and real time charts) . Getting a PAK is a huge deal especially when it's from K-pop idols because Koreans don't usually listen to K-pop that much compared to us . The hype also was partly because of Red Flavor being a summer hit before in 2017 (it was played everywhere in South Korea and becoming their biggest hit until now along with Bad Boy and Psycho). Since that, RV is called the summer queens and SK public will anticipate Red Velvet summer song.
However, Power Up got a tons of hate from International fans (merely because it sounds like a kid song especially the "baby shark" dance). But I continue to love it until today because the melodies are so "fresh" and "fun"?? idk how to explain it but the melodies are really interesting, and something you'd never expect coming - especially the chorus
3) Fun fact, RBB scream was actually from Irene. 11:55 you said about harmonising . Yes, actually the members were told to do the scream but only Irene can scream naturally in a very high pitch so the producer used her voice for the track. Her scream is actually being analysed by a lot of vocal teachers to be really "well produced" and sounds like a whistle note, instead of just a scream (RV vocal queens indeed) . Another fun fact, the scream remains as the highest note ever in a K-pop song . 😂
RBB music video was also inspired from "The Shining (1980)" film
The most popular fan-theory regarding Peek-a-boo is that it's based upon the horror/survival video game "Emily Wants to Play," at least there are a ton of similarities.

Peek A Boo Theory : ever heard of peek a boo game? an urban legend scary hide and seek game with evil spirit, the rules of the game are the player must hide and not get caught by the ghost from midnight until dawn, and prohibited to get out from house while the game occur Red Velvet is actually doing a soul exchange ritual (notice when Joy sit on the table full of candle and then the pizza boy sit on it later) so the theory is Joy was dead, and they hunt many pizza boy as the sacrifice to resurrect her with peek a boo game they have done this many times (notice a lot of shirt displayed while they trying to catch the pizzaboy) and they train how to kill with weapon (axe, crossbow, knife, even they displayed SMG on the wall), and they look for victim by tempting the victim, notice the first one to try seduce the pizzaboy was Yeri, but it doesn't work, and then when Irene try it, the pizza boy fell for her the pizza boy actually manage to not get caught by them, but i assume that he was trapped by them, they celebrate his winning (while he didn't win yet because it wasn't sunrise yet) and give him a poisonous jelly, and when he ate it, he forgot that he played the game, and he halucinating that Red Velvet helped him to escape from the haunted house so when the time he set off the house, he broke the rule that the player must not leave the house until sunrise, so when he called 911 for help, Irene, the one who invited him to the house followed and killed him, and then they have a new displayed shirt on their house 🙂

Sorry for taking too much space on your comment but I have another theory on Power Up because you are write that their is something wrong behind it: So basically, Irene was like getting weak in there because of the hotness (hence the objects that are melting) , to cut it short she she drank her members. Remember when she mixing the glass full of different colors? And when the members are like became tiny and they are put in their respective color and its the juice, notice that Irene is not in there because she is the one mixing them. So yeah, she drank her members in order to power up hahahhaa. This is just an easter egg dark hidden meaning behind the bubbly MV. This is why I want you to watch this so bad!

Yes. Nobody knows what it's the next concept...they mix a lot. That it's because I standed RV since their debut.
Honestly Power Up is just one of my favorite songs ever. I can listen to it all the time because it's super catchy and I absolutely love the mix of harmonies and crazy bass synths.
RBB was btw honestly a game changer. Irene blasted out that scream even though she's the MAIN RAPPER and it's still the highest recorded note any idol has sung.
It came out on the 30th November which was a homage to Thriller by Michael Jackson even though a lot of people thought it was just late for Halloween. The mv also pays homage to That era with all the practical horror movie effects and of course the scream.
Honestly the more I keep watching red velvet the more I keep falling Inlove with them and their red and velvet sides 💯 the creepy yet cool opposite sides keeps everything interesting :)
if you're wondering what's the deal with the fruits turning into cd-r were all about, it's a metaphor for how this song is so refreshing that listening to it feels like eating a fresh juicy fruit on a hot summer day. of course, it was fitting because this was released during a summer heat wave in south korea, hence all the melting.
The instrument in RBB is brass!!! When you watch Red Velvet: A Mess , you can see the members (Wendy esp.) Imitating the sound of brass hahaaha. Trust me, it was very very good fanmade content!

It's Zimzalabim next!!! It's RV's most divisive title track but it's become my favorite since I saw them perform it live. It's such a hype song. It's meant to be performed at the concerts and festivals. I literally saw everyone in the arena chanting/shouting to the song, jumping like madmen. Same with Really Bad Boy. Since Irene don't sing the whistle note live, the audience do it instead. Oh, the screams that night. we were all laughing after every scream. it was seriously the most fun I've had out of all the kpop group line-up that night.

Power up seems like a bright song :))) but it’s not :))) The song reflected a real dark side in 90s America. When the summer break comes, parents send their children to summer camp. The children will have a lot of activites there. But all the parents were surprised when their children come home and being addicted to addictive substance. The lyric is talking about flying, feeling hype, getting high, airplane..... The concept of the song is scout girl :))) Scouts in summer camp is the reason why the kids got addicted, they let them use addictive substance illegally, and of course, the parents don’t know about this :))) anyways the song is fun and full of joy 🤣🤣🤣
