Mark is like you, Joseph, he can fix anything. So much respect! BTW, loved the dive video especially the seals aka "sea dogs" (also the name of my kayak).
the end of the video with the wildlife and diving was incredible thankyou for sharing that what a privilege to share the water with them and all that beauty,
As a former customer service manager, it sounds like the company mandate is to say the older fridges have been sunset, aren't serviceable "steer all customers to new models." Which is a very common tactic.
Mark to the rescue! Next time send the thermal paste! LOL I think we need PROOF this really IS Markthepaintguy! Yoo hoo where are you hiding? 🤣 eh?? eh?? Glad ya got it all fixed up Joseph ! Bet thats a relief...thank goodness for good friends !
For future reference you could of went to the local Hobart office and they would use and sell u some thermal paste .use it on all weight scales and automatic food wrappers. I know cause I was a tech for 10 yrs .glad u got it working that probe will be fine might not last as long as it could bit I bet there is enough paste in the unit you be fine.. good job Joseph
Great update! My own experience with repairs has had me making stops at every single handy-man, electrical, hardware, plumbing shop in town. Thanks for getting in some diving - always enjoy those views.
It’s a shame a company would mislead (lie) to their customers to make more money. It’s a sad world we live in today. Joseph very happy your fridge is working again!😊
Isn't it so nice to be handy and save yourself a bit of money... Had a similar situation but with a different product and through the great world of RUclips I was able to find the part and repair something that was supposedly unrepairable and glad to say a little over 5 years and it still is going strong. ✌🏼
Whoo-hoo! That cave diving looks like great fun. I'm such a chicken 🐔 😩, my mind is my worst enemy because I immediately think of all the dangers of cave diving instead of thinking I can learn to do that safely. I admire your courage to do and try new things, your environmental respect for mother nature and your willingness to do things the right way over the easier way when quality matters. I Enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing with us. 😊
Forgot to say seeing the cave you were diving in brought back a host of GREAT memories when I snorkeled off the west coast of Ireland into a cave. Just seeing the kelp "stalks"? or whatever they're called, along with the seals made me relive that majestical experience. I was also lucky enough to have a lone dolphin that I swam and played with for about 1/2 hour. Best therapy available!! Safe travels and look forward to your next video!!✌🏼
Wow Joseph...I'm so glad Mark was able to give you a fix and I'm so impressed with your patience. Wow...also, fabulous closing music...lovely message... Be well Joseph.
Caring friends are such a blessing, thanks Mark!! Great video Joseph! I would not buy a dometic because of your experience and I don't like disposable things. I have a trash picked circular saw (headed for the landfill) ..bushings were off, we reset them and it has worked great for over 30 years now. I enjoyed the store visits it drove home the lengths you had to go through.
Shame on Dometic for their customer service. Many companies train their customer service staff in this way using customer service as a sales center. (it's not generally the employee's fault). Always try first before giving up is the moral of the story. Nice to see you celebrate and experience some joy. I recently fixed my old second home refrigerator through RUclips University with mostly plug-and-play parts (relay switch & thermostat) which looked like the parts but did not clearly state it worked for my appliance. I had to modify the parts (frame on the thermostat and connections on the relay), nothing that would affect operation.
Hello Joseph! I Great Seeing you again 🤗Nice Catch! 👍Great job! I hope it won't give you anymore trouble! Thank goodness for your friend with knowledge of the problem to advise you! Friends are Awesome!Thank you for sharing! 🫂♥️See you on the next video 🙂
Awesome that you got your fridge working again! Thank you for "Sharing The Sea" with us at the end. That might be a good name for your other channel, if it's not taken :)
Heat sink compound does the same job as the thermal mastic since both are good at thermal transfer. Check the temperature rating and use a non hardening one if you want to be able to replace the temperature sensor in the future. The Super Lube silicone heat sink compound at Home Depot looks like it would work good, however I haven’t used it myself.
Awesome you got it work ✌️😁 Good feeling to have it working I just to see the you deep dive 🌊sometimes on the edge of my chair. It looks so scary in the water lol have a bless day be safe keep warm have fun ✌️😁
I work in maintenance and sometimes parts are discontinued or they are backordered far into the future. The manufacturer can't tell you what you can use as a drop in replacement for liability reasons, but most of the time with electronic/electrical components you can spec another part that is in supply with similar specs and get the product up and running. I've fixed machines that were quoted at 3months+ repair time and 4k+ dollars for less than $5 doing this.
Afternoon Joseph ... thanks for sharing. Have you noted - when you are actually working a problem / issue, your demeanour improves ... even your voice has "life". Take care and have a great day and see you in the next share.
This is common for dometic to do this I had a problem with our Dometic ice box in our trailer. Got the same run around. I was able to locate someone who new how fix it. Glad you have it back up. Look at what Chrome has in his van. Maybe he can help you out.
This is awesome news. Super happy it’s fixed. Odd question….. When you were shopping I noticed your pants were what I have been looking for. What brand and model are they please. Thanks
@19:05 . . . sea dogs be like Wuz upppp boyz....dont be taking any of our fishies ya hear!! Stunning footage in cave and kelp forest.... omg we live within top percentile of the world I think, haha. Salish Sea babbby (like how Marky Mark says it hehe). I can see you are not in comment sections here and I am SO behind catching up, BUT IF you can burn a match under Marks behind to actually put out VIDS that would be great cuz it has been 5 months. (rant over). Glad you got fridge all dealt with needless to say. Continued best.
Heck yeah! Good job! Companies wanting to sell more stuff, so greedy! You give me hope that everything isn't really built to be disposable, just so rich people get more rich! I loved the closer of your dive! Very cool! Ive gone shore diving off of rocky beaches, but I'm a ccuba diver! I had a trainer at my gym help me build up my strength just so I wasn't exhausted by the time I got in! Lol 😂
I’m sure there are woman who could too make this fix. I’m not one of them. (without help) I wish I would have taken mechanics, wood shop as a youngster and any type of electrical class. Good job Joesph! You have patience-I have none. Lol.
I think you are being too kind giving the frig company the benefit of doubt, or poor education to sales staff. We are in such a disposable time I believe they truly just want to sell new product. The sales person probably was getting a commission or bonus for making sales. Of course I dont know for sure but the whole conversation sounded all too familiar. Anyway I'm glad you were able to take the time to fix it, way to go Joseph!
Seriously, I think Dometic just wants to sell new ones instead of repairing old ones. Selling new ones generates more revenue than repairing old ones. My 2 cents worth....lol.
Jeez Dometic, this is a bad look. Causing quite the unnecessary waste when thing can and should be repairable. Sad. I do agree there is a chance it was an error of internal communication. However, her tone and manner in which she answered, not to mention quickly suggesting buying "the latest/ new improved" does impart the scent of a practiced and/or scripted talking point. And regardless, Dometic is responsible as a company for it's product and employees. The buck stops on the same desk. Prop's to Mark and you for getting it fixed! There's a place on Burnside can "Reliance Parts" (I believe). They are a parts supplier for appliances and all sorts of stuff. If you haven't got the thermal paste, give them a shot. Not sure if they do repairs, but if they do, they may be nice enough, if not busy, to just give you a blob out of their tube, if they have it. Otherwise, pop by a local tv/electronics repair shop (Rare these days, but still out there. Bay and Bridge use to be one. And up on Hillside, around the DQ/ by Farm). Ask if they have a blob of it you could have in exchange for good karma or a box of donuts.... LOL!
I miss Mark The Paint Guy...he doesn't post much these days...Good People!
Sure miss seeing Mark the Paint Guy on RUclips. Hope he is doing well. Awesome Guy
yup we do
You are so smart.
Oh my… fixing the refrigerator 🥰 and it resolved the issue. Excellent
That last scene
⭐️⭐️⭐️ MAGICAL ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mark is good people. Nothing like great friends.
I was today years old when I learned what a Thermistor is.
Thank you.
I am seeing under water scenery i would have never scene Thanks.

I had to go find that song at the end. Baby your hurting me..perfect for that scene btw.

That's great you were able to fix your fridge. It's so sad that our society is a throw away society.
I dislike that we've become a throw-it-away rather than a fix-it society.
I don't think she lied, but as Joseph said ill informed, not properly trained. Not intentional.
