Hi Marz. You can pet Agro (by the way Agro is a girl), by pressing square next to her or on top of her. If you bring her close to small ponds of water she will go and drink some water and eat some grass. Agro is very intelligent. She can lead the way by herself. You point her in the right direction and ,if you don’t want to steer, let her go, beacause she avoid obstacules automatically. Trico, from The Last Guardian, was created once Fumito Ueda noticed the relationship that builds apon who’s playing and Agro. She is your companion throughout this vast desolated world. She will never leave you behind. My God, I loved Agro when I first played this game. I think that at certain pont in this game, everyone feel bad for killing the colossi, but you had the feeling on the first! That surprised me. They are this huge beautiful creatures, roaming around, and we are destroying them... But I guess the love Wander has for Mono (the girl in the altar) make him a little blind. You can go and explore the world, but the sensation of loliness and desolation will never leave you. You can kill the small lizard with white tails to increase your stamina and collect the fruits hanging in the trees to increase your health, grab the eagles to fly a litle bit, play with the turtles on the small ponds and admire the nature and the architecture, but iin the end it’s just you and Agro on a journey to find the Colossi and save Mono. I hope you play the game till the end.
The loneliness and lack of beings is what makes this game so intriguing to me, probably one of my most favorite things about this game is riding Agro through the forbidden lands. I'm glad you are really enjoying this game, makes me smile :)
I second this comment! So good to see someone taking the time to explore. So many let's players fall into the habit of rushing through games like this so they can move quickly onto the next LP, which ruins the atmosphere the game was trying to build. Or in the case of Journey, completely fail to grasp the plot because they're too impatient and don't pay enough attention. Play what you want, how you want, and enjoy!
One of my favorite things in the game is the soundtrack. The music when the battle kicks in is just amazing. I like that the devs stuck with only having the colossi in the game. The world is fantastic, but at the same time really haunting since it is empty. Something you can try when you're bored, you can actually hold on to birds and eagles. There are some eagles you can hold onto for quite awhile. There are going to be a couple colossi that will test some fears, so that will be fun!
As a veteran of the PS2 version (one of my favorite games of all time) I would like to give a few spoiler-free tips. The sword can't reflect light if you're not standing in sunlight. You can't see the Colossi's vital points if you don't have the sword in hand. The glowing sigils are the only actual vital points. The cracked glowing areas are lesser weak points used to manipulate the Colossus into doing something you need it to do to progress. Hope that helps and that you enjoy! :D Edit: Also you CAN pet Agro. You just have to have an empty hand, then I think its the grab button.
NOOOO...Ico is rly overrated.It has great atmosphere like The Last Guardian.but the gameplay is rly lacking Its nothing more than a scort-mission/puzzle game.It barely works as a plataformer.Lets leave at that.
ico is a bit too short so if they were to do that i'd like to see them at least double the length of the game by adding more puzzles and making the existing puzzles more complex.
The fact that you are understanding what makes this game good and enjoying the same things I enjoyed when I first played makes me very emotional, the eye of the blind shows us the beauty of sight.
The journey here has been long. With only Agro as hes company Wander has travelled many moons to get to this place, an ancient mystical tempel in the middle of a vast deserted landscape. When he lays the girl on to the cold stone pedestal he starts to wonder if the tales of this place really could be true. But before he starts drifting off in these thoughts of hes a voice echoes from above...The first voice heard in a long time. It appears to be true there is a hope - a chance to trade death with life, and get her back from the dead. But such amazing powers also brings big consequences. Wander is ready to do anything, no matter the price. He has come a long way to loose faith now. The voice speaks of big creatures in a wondrous land. Creatures if slain will behold the power to bring lost souls back to life. When all seems lost love will always find a way. And now Wanders real journey begins... It's a late intro brought by me from the manual in the original game. Can't wait to see some horse petting in the future :) There is alot of things you can do with agro in the game, b.t.w. Managing you stamina is very important. Whenever possible try to find those little breather moments. The grab button automatically functions as a crouch, which helps speed up your stamina and health regeneration. Don't be too afraid to fall from great heights, since your fall damage is very lenient in this game. It also looks like they slimmed Agro down a bit in this remake -- in the original he was pretty bulky. And don't worry about Agro falling off shit, he steers himself away from edges and other dangers. The first game horse to do that, I think. There's also tons of little secrets in this game, it's crazy.
@@locomojoboy2 there's the secret garden all the gold coins the special whistling arrows a parachute, you can refight colossals you can also trigger time trial mode. And more There plenty of secrets and easter eggs if you only got lizards and fruit you missed out.
I played this as a teenager in the ps2, it was a very different game to what I was used to, but I loved it. Such beautiful art and design and does a great job at inspiring solitude and sadness in the player
Finally :) Lil tip: you can press R1 to put up your sword and see the path while riding. no point to get off Agro or even stopping her for that. And the light beams in the sky are pointing to the places where you killed colossi Have a good time with the game! I believe you will enjoy it) oh, and one more thing, don't worry for Agro being hurt in a fight, she can handle it :)
I know Agro can't/couldn't, but a part of me wished somehow magically she could have responded out of the blue to your questions. "Neeeiiigggh, I'm a female horse" - Agro the Talking Horse gallops away. Am so happy this game is experiencing a revival and is being enjoyed and appreciated by new people. Am glad you enjoyed it Marz. I played this game when it first came out, it had a profound effect on my artistic and creative ideas. Usually I preferred "more" as in more characters, more story, more dialogue, more options, more choices. I was a big fan of RPG's with huge casts of characters, so I was a little bit confused I liked this game so much. Its such a unique and beautiful game. Made me appreciate scale, solitude, and "quiet" storytelling and themes. Game also has a simple and sweet plot too, like a modern fairytale. Oh and yeah the controls are kind of clunky, like the Last Guardian. In a weird way, I kind of came to like that about the game. Also the game is super beautiful and huge, there were dozens of times, where a single frame shot looked like it could be an amazing large scaled painting. The remake's photo mode is going to ruin me... I already have a tough time in beautiful games, gawking off in the distance with my main character idle doing rough sketches... but with a dedicated photo mode? I'll probably end up with GB's of screenshots... Haha, I like your concern for Agro in the second Colossi encounter, I mean everyone I know, adores Agro, but I have never seen someone so immediately concerned for her welfare. Oh and nice music editing, poor Agro almost being stepped on. Also I think you are the first person whose natural inquisitiveness led them to the white tailed lizards so soon in the game, without hints or prompts. Nice!
What I think gets me the most is that at first you think you're fighting evil creatures to save Mono until you kill the 1st one. At first, heroic music starts to swell like you are about to slay a great evil being, however once you thrust your sword into them... Somber music starts playing, like you killed something beautiful. Most people at first dismiss it until the 8th or 9th, then you start to realize that you are killing creatures that are scared of you.
I remember the first time I got to this bridge. I was riding full speed and tried to slow down but accidentally hit the jump button and went right over the edge. 😂🤣
Don't worry about not being immediately proficient at the game. We all went through pretty much the same learning curve our first time too. Plus you seem to catch on pretty quick anyway.
So you finally are playing SoTC.... You are definitely in for a treat, trust me. It is probably one of the most ambitious games of its time. If you explore you won't find much to do, but a lot of beautiful vistas to see. PD: It was amazing that you learned some of the tricks you can do with Agro on your own, and there are more hidden tricks. Some tips, the white lizard tail you grabbed improves your stamina, and there is another thing that increases your health (won't say what). Good luck Marz!
After getting frustrated by watching others play it for the first time, your lp is so refreshing. I feel like you grew as you fought each colossus. You've already figured out a lot of things in the first three colossi you fought and I think that's really remarkable. Plus you spend less time(if any) complaining about the game's camera or Agro's controls and spend more time having fun. It's also so cute to see you try and pet her. I love animals so much too and I was really sad when I realized we couldn't interact with her more than necessary(aside from a little petting I think?). I also wish we could feed the lizard tails to her but unfortunately, those are for us and increase our stamina just the tiniest bit. I think you already figured that out though. Also I have officially subscribed and I am so excited to finish your walkthrough. Thank you for being so amazing! You're really pretty too by the way! i was expecting hers to me the most frustrating because in her older playthroughs she spends an absurd amount of time running from enemies. i thought she would be running from the first colossus yelling "oh my god, you guys!" for a half hour before she even went near it.

This was a game that has always been in the shadows with me (pun intended). I knew it was there but never played it. I’ve been very interested in this game now that it’s out with all its improvements. I’m glad to find a channel that is playing the game “blind.” Many have played the original which leaves out the experience of surprise and awe. I’m happy to find this and joining you on this journey. :)
I started to play this myself and I sincerly think that this is the kind of game that doesn't work when you just watch others play. I enjoy it much more when I play this myself. When I watch others play it everything just seems empty. Of course it is, but when you have your own pace at exploring, your mind is more capable of filling in the blanks. I was also quite surprised at how easy it felt to me. I have seen Let's Players struggle with the controls and maintaining their Stamina when on a Colossus. That was not problem for me at all until the 5th Colossus.
Just subbed after recently started watching your play through's and they are a lot of fun. This game is one of my all time faves from the PS2 era and I really hope they're going to remake Ico for PS4 next.
Just started playing this game for the first time yesterday. The first thing about the game that really struck me was how beautifully animated the blanket was that he threw to the ground. Glad you thought it was noteworthy enough to mention. Animation is not an easy thing to do.
I love how the message of this game is intertwined with the gameplay mechanic. You play Wander, who cannot accept the death of his love. What he is doing is "not letting go." The idea "Don't let go" is the mechanic of the game while you beat the the various colossal beasts. While you climb them, to beat them.... don't let go. No matter how hard they shake. No matter how impossible it seems. Don't let go.
@Phawnix From what i piece together from the story, Wander valued this woman in some way. Either as a lover or a soldier sworn to protect her. His village was sacrificing those with dark fates. It was told her fate was dark and his tribe killed her. He brings her body to be restored after stealing the sword to help complete his quest and actually causes her dark fate to play out.
Last time I actually played this game was 11 years ago when I was 8 yrs old, so much fucking nostalgia love it! Now I just spent half of my day watching vids about the whole game again, I even forgot what it’s called until my brother reminded me about it. You should try legand of dragoon, oddworld abes exodus, sly cooper and Megaman legands. All super nostalgic to me. Never to late to try. In 10 years you'll still look back and be glad you played a really good game.
This is the third time I’ve bought this game, originally and first on ps2 them the remaster on PS3 and now this beautiful remake. I’m lucky enough to own a pro and the extra resolution boost and HDR takes the lighting and mood of the game to another level

Dormin warns Wander about the heavy price, Wander accepts wholeheartedly, Dormin ponders his response and proceeds with his demand. Instead of tricking Wander or preying on his emotions he simply informs him of his condition for reviving Mono. He also doesn't trick Wander into accepting a self destructive contract, in fact, Wander doesn't even ask what Dormin achieves by killing the Colossi so Dormin doesn't even lie. And Dormin revives Mono in the end, honoring the promise. Even if reviving her is in his best interest as well. In my opinion, Dormin is the perfect villain for a game that doesn't focus too heavily on the plot.
Glad to see you playing this game, I really liked it back in the day when it came out. It's a very simple game in it's essence but the delivery is what makes it stand out and it was truely one of the first games that gave you this feeling of facing off against these gigantic colossi. Here's a couple of Agro tips: You can actually use the sword light while riding Agro. Also, if you hold back on the analog stick and press Triangle at the same time, Agro will rear back and immediately take off at full speed. Same for stopping on a dime, too. Can't wait to see you experience this masterpiece!
I was pretty stoked when I saw you stop accidentally on the metal dais with the third colossus - thought you might accidentally discover (very quickly) an important part of that battle. I recommend hunting many lizards at Shrines and fruit at trees to boost your grip & HP!
I love how she says they are probably bad or that they probably killed a lot of people every time even though they’re basically the guardians stopping people from awakening Dormin destroying everything

Okay, Im not going to lie, because there are moments when you show that you are just a mortal noob to games, but it kind of makes it more enjoyable and funny to watch, especially the funny moments that makes us all laugh! And this is after all an open world. Its also so cute and adorable to see you exploring it with great curiosity. I don't mind that. Overall, keep playing, and be nice to the Colossi! Just a friendly advice from me, Marz. You should eat an apple once and an while, its good for your health!
the sword only works when light is reflected on it, if their is a perfect amount of light it will shine a easy to see turquoise color and if you move it in different directions it will show you where the Colossi are, if their is little light it will shine a harder to see yellow showing you were the Colossi are, if their is no light it will shine yellow and will show you nothing. There are lizards with white tails, when you kill them take the tail and it will give you more stanima, they can be found on shrines. Here's some Agro controls: Pet Agro: stand next to her without a weapon equiped and press square Quick start: while on Agro, press down on left stick plus triangle Quick stop: press down on left stick plus triangle twice Standing on Agro: while on Agro, press and hold R2 while pressing up on left stick Agro jump: run her off a small cliff (must be small or she'll either not do it or start limping after)
I love playing this game! I’ve played through it multiple times, and it took me awhile to fully understand that Wander is actually the bad guy. It makes playing the game so much harder, because I have to hurt and kill these beautiful and innocent Colossi for selfish reasons. It’s such a beautiful game though. YES MARZ!!! WOOOOOOO!! It's Shadow of the Colossus time! Great job taking down 3 so quickly, and thanks for the long video. Things are definitely a little different compared to the PS2 version, but i'm curious if the opening cinematic did indeed start almost after you loaded the disc (after studio credits). Otherwise i'd feel bad for nagging you about it. They also changed the button layout, because in the original game JUMP was the TRIANGLE button and INCREASE GALLOP SPEED was the X button. It was weird to jump with triangle but i guess they changed it for this version. Now you understand why I said to include all your footage of you traversing the land when on your horse and to not cut any of it out. It really is a huge part of the game experience. You are right, this game really does give you a feeling of emptiness and being alone in such a vast land. And we want you to explore this world. So if you want to explore, then please explore and take us with you. There only goodies you can obtain through exploring are white-tailed lizards (that increase your stamina gauge) and fruit on trees (that increase your health). The last thing you'll find are smaller temples that you can pray/save your game, which can be useful if you decide to explore away from where you're supposed to go. You probably figured this out but you do NOT need to hold TRIANGLE to keep Agro running. You only need to tap it to whatever speed you want then you can let it go. Think of it as a fan with button speed settings, rather than a gas pedal. And PRO-TIP, when on Agro: -If you press Left Stick (down) + TRIANGLE from a standstill, Agro will rear up on his hind legs into a max speed run. -If you press Left Stick (down) + TRIANGLE while running, Agro will come to a quick halt as he does at 58:47. Give it a try.

I always loved how the music when you kill a colossi is so...sad. You should be feeling victorious, but the music makes you truly wonder if you did a good thing. And as anyone who has played knows, time will tell if its a good idea to destroy the colossi. =P
SWEET!! Been looking forward to this run :) Little Tips: Most people that I've watched play this really fight with the camera and Agro. You should still be able to turn off camera correction in the settings, that will prevent the camera from snapping back to Wander giving you better control of where it points. So just something to experiment with if you wish, and Agro controls herself. You only need to flick the analog stick in the direction you wish to keep her running. Its a bit odd at first, bc its instinct to fully control what's on screen, but she controls herself. Also, down on the d-pad is to empty your hand. If you stand next to Agro and press the "pick up item button", whatever that is in this version of the game, Wander will pet her. And finally, have fun and explore the best you can with the time you have. There is much to see and the entire map is open to you.

Wow that was awesome ! I didn't expected the game to be this gorgeous. You had some point of views on those "bridges" that were incredible. For a game that old even now it's still magical. The remaster seems very well done and not cheap like they usually are.. and the soundtrack is calm and peaceful. The animations of Agro is very realistic and the angle of the camera when he gallops gives an impression of speed that I've never seen in any videogames featuring horses ! Concerning the story so far : I really don't know what to think of killing those colossus. Like you, it feels kinda wrong. Just because some voices told you that you could *maybe* resurrect the soul of the girl, only if you kill them. I mean you have no way to be sure they can do it, maybe they're just tricking the guy (does he have a name ?) to do some dirty work... We know nothing of those colossus so far and we are asked to kill them... Great starting episode ! Since I've never done or seen this game, I'm glad it will be with you that I'll discover it :) Can't wait for the next episode. I hope you're not crawling under homework or stuff like that^^
maybe a little late but the souls are the residents and parts of soul from the person the colossus was before, the beings are created by concentrated light and dark. the lore behind the whole game connects extremely well to different mythes all around the world.
I downed 6 colossi meanwhile and this game rocks! Its so relaxing and beautiful... think I'll play through this several times and try to get the platinum trophy. I really enjoy watching you playing it too! Also I prefer if you read the lines from the game, your voice is very pleasant for a woman.

Each of the 16 colossi are filled with Dormins shadow (soul) - you release them, take it into you and Dormin recalls you so his shadow can congregate at the temple :) Also, you asked about why theres no one living there - its a cursed land that people wont go to because of Dormin and the colossi are there.
Another great video Marz, the hardest part of the game is figuring out how to climb each colossus, that's part of the puzzle. As for other things to do, without spooling it, keep collecting the Gecko tails and look in large trees for something else to collect. Both help you but I won't tell you how. Cheers! :)

ico is a bit too short so if they were to do that i'd like to see them at least double the length of the game by adding more puzzles and making the existing puzzles more complex.
The fact that you are understanding what makes this game good and enjoying the same things I enjoyed when I first played makes me very emotional, the eye of the blind shows us the beauty of sight.
The journey here has been long. With only Agro as hes company Wander has travelled many moons to get to this place, an ancient mystical tempel in the middle of a vast deserted landscape. When he lays the girl on to the cold stone pedestal he starts to wonder if the tales of this place really could be true. But before he starts drifting off in these thoughts of hes a voice echoes from above...The first voice heard in a long time.
It appears to be true there is a hope - a chance to trade death with life, and get her back from the dead. But such amazing powers also brings big consequences.
Wander is ready to do anything, no matter the price. He has come a long way to loose faith now.
The voice speaks of big creatures in a wondrous land.
Creatures if slain will behold the power to bring lost souls back to life.
When all seems lost love will always find a way. And now Wanders real journey begins...

Managing you stamina is very important. Whenever possible try to find those little breather moments. The grab button automatically functions as a crouch, which helps speed up your stamina and health regeneration. Don't be too afraid to fall from great heights, since your fall damage is very lenient in this game.
It also looks like they slimmed Agro down a bit in this remake -- in the original he was pretty bulky. And don't worry about Agro falling off shit, he steers himself away from edges and other dangers. The first game horse to do that, I think.
There's also tons of little secrets in this game, it's crazy.

@@locomojoboy2 there's the secret garden all the gold coins the special whistling arrows a parachute, you can refight colossals you can also trigger time trial mode. And more There plenty of secrets and easter eggs if you only got lizards and fruit you missed out.
I played this as a teenager in the ps2, it was a very different game to what I was used to, but I loved it. Such beautiful art and design and does a great job at inspiring solitude and sadness in the player
Finally :) Lil tip: you can press R1 to put up your sword and see the path while riding. no point to get off Agro or even stopping her for that. And the light beams in the sky are pointing to the places where you killed colossi

This game always gives me goosebumps. Hands down, the best game of all time.
I know Agro can't/couldn't, but a part of me wished somehow magically she could have responded out of the blue to your questions. "Neeeiiigggh, I'm a female horse" - Agro the Talking Horse gallops away.
Am so happy this game is experiencing a revival and is being enjoyed and appreciated by new people. Am glad you enjoyed it Marz. I played this game when it first came out, it had a profound effect on my artistic and creative ideas. Usually I preferred "more" as in more characters, more story, more dialogue, more options, more choices. I was a big fan of RPG's with huge casts of characters, so I was a little bit confused I liked this game so much. Its such a unique and beautiful game. Made me appreciate scale, solitude, and "quiet" storytelling and themes.
Game also has a simple and sweet plot too, like a modern fairytale. Oh and yeah the controls are kind of clunky, like the Last Guardian. In a weird way, I kind of came to like that about the game. Also the game is super beautiful and huge, there were dozens of times, where a single frame shot looked like it could be an amazing large scaled painting.
The remake's photo mode is going to ruin me... I already have a tough time in beautiful games, gawking off in the distance with my main character idle doing rough sketches... but with a dedicated photo mode? I'll probably end up with GB's of screenshots...
Haha, I like your concern for Agro in the second Colossi encounter, I mean everyone I know, adores Agro, but I have never seen someone so immediately concerned for her welfare. Oh and nice music editing, poor Agro almost being stepped on.
Also I think you are the first person whose natural inquisitiveness led them to the white tailed lizards so soon in the game, without hints or prompts. Nice!
What I think gets me the most is that at first you think you're fighting evil creatures to save Mono until you kill the 1st one. At first, heroic music starts to swell like you are about to slay a great evil being, however once you thrust your sword into them... Somber music starts playing, like you killed something beautiful. Most people at first dismiss it until the 8th or 9th, then you start to realize that you are killing creatures that are scared of you.
I remember the first time I got to this bridge. I was riding full speed and tried to slow down but accidentally hit the jump button and went right over the edge. 😂🤣
The mystery and story is so amazing in this!!

I played this game as a kid. I loved it. The more years that pass, the more I fall in love with this game.
So you finally are playing SoTC.... You are definitely in for a treat, trust me. It is probably one of the most ambitious games of its time. If you explore you won't find much to do, but a lot of beautiful vistas to see.
PD: It was amazing that you learned some of the tricks you can do with Agro on your own, and there are more hidden tricks. Some tips, the white lizard tail you grabbed improves your stamina, and there is another thing that increases your health (won't say what).

After getting frustrated by watching others play it for the first time, your lp is so refreshing. I feel like you grew as you fought each colossus. You've already figured out a lot of things in the first three colossi you fought and I think that's really remarkable. Plus you spend less time(if any) complaining about the game's camera or Agro's controls and spend more time having fun. It's also so cute to see you try and pet her. I love animals so much too and I was really sad when I realized we couldn't interact with her more than necessary(aside from a little petting I think?). I also wish we could feed the lizard tails to her but unfortunately, those are for us and increase our stamina just the tiniest bit. I think you already figured that out though. Also I have officially subscribed and I am so excited to finish your walkthrough. Thank you for being so amazing! You're really pretty too by the way!

i was expecting hers to me the most frustrating because in her older playthroughs she spends an absurd amount of time running from enemies. i thought she would be running from the first colossus yelling "oh my god, you guys!" for a half hour before she even went near it.

This was a game that has always been in the shadows with me (pun intended). I knew it was there but never played it. I’ve been very interested in this game now that it’s out with all its improvements.

I started to play this myself and I sincerly think that this is the kind of game that doesn't work when you just watch others play.
I enjoy it much more when I play this myself. When I watch others play it everything just seems empty.
Of course it is, but when you have your own pace at exploring, your mind is more capable of filling in the blanks.
I was also quite surprised at how easy it felt to me. I have seen Let's Players struggle with the controls and maintaining their Stamina when on a Colossus. That was not problem for me at all until the 5th Colossus.
Just subbed after recently started watching your play through's and they are a lot of fun. This game is one of my all time faves from the PS2 era and I really hope they're going to remake Ico for PS4 next.

Just started playing this game for the first time yesterday. The first thing about the game that really struck me was how beautifully animated the blanket was that he threw to the ground. Glad you thought it was noteworthy enough to mention. Animation is not an easy thing to do.
I love how the message of this game is intertwined with the gameplay mechanic. You play Wander, who cannot accept the death of his love. What he is doing is "not letting go." The idea "Don't let go" is the mechanic of the game while you beat the the various colossal beasts. While you climb them, to beat them.... don't let go. No matter how hard they shake. No matter how impossible it seems. Don't let go.
Straining to get just enough don't let go juice to climb the castle is a pretty good analogy on the intimidating journey wander faced.
@Phawnix From what i piece together from the story, Wander valued this woman in some way. Either as a lover or a soldier sworn to protect her. His village was sacrificing those with dark fates. It was told her fate was dark and his tribe killed her. He brings her body to be restored after stealing the sword to help complete his quest and actually causes her dark fate to play out.
Last time I actually played this game was 11 years ago when I was 8 yrs old, so much fucking nostalgia love it! Now I just spent half of my day watching vids about the whole game again, I even forgot what it’s called until my brother reminded me about it. You should try legand of dragoon, oddworld abes exodus, sly cooper and Megaman legands. All super nostalgic to me. Never to late to try. In 10 years you'll still look back and be glad you played a really good game.
This is the third time I’ve bought this game, originally and first on ps2 them the remaster on PS3 and now this beautiful remake. I’m lucky enough to own a pro and the extra resolution boost and HDR takes the lighting and mood of the game to another level

Dormin warns Wander about the heavy price, Wander accepts wholeheartedly, Dormin ponders his response and proceeds with his demand. Instead of tricking Wander or preying on his emotions he simply informs him of his condition for reviving Mono. He also doesn't trick Wander into accepting a self destructive contract, in fact, Wander doesn't even ask what Dormin achieves by killing the Colossi so Dormin doesn't even lie. And Dormin revives Mono in the end, honoring the promise. Even if reviving her is in his best interest as well. In my opinion, Dormin is the perfect villain for a game that doesn't focus too heavily on the plot.

Here's a couple of Agro tips: You can actually use the sword light while riding Agro. Also, if you hold back on the analog stick and press Triangle at the same time, Agro will rear back and immediately take off at full speed. Same for stopping on a dime, too. Can't wait to see you experience this masterpiece!
I was pretty stoked when I saw you stop accidentally on the metal dais with the third colossus - thought you might accidentally discover (very quickly) an important part of that battle. I recommend hunting many lizards at Shrines and fruit at trees to boost your grip & HP!

Okay, Im not going to lie, because there are moments when you show that you are just a mortal noob to games, but it kind of makes it more enjoyable and funny to watch, especially the funny moments that makes us all laugh!

Just a friendly advice from me, Marz. You should eat an apple once and an while, its good for your health!
the sword only works when light is reflected on it, if their is a perfect amount of light it will shine a easy to see turquoise color and if you move it in different directions it will show you where the Colossi are, if their is little light it will shine a harder to see yellow showing you were the Colossi are, if their is no light it will shine yellow and will show you nothing. There are lizards with white tails, when you kill them take the tail and it will give you more stanima, they can be found on shrines.
Here's some Agro controls:
Pet Agro: stand next to her without a weapon equiped and press square
Quick start: while on Agro, press down on left stick plus triangle
Quick stop: press down on left stick plus triangle twice
Standing on Agro: while on Agro, press and hold R2 while pressing up on left stick
Agro jump: run her off a small cliff (must be small or she'll either not do it or start limping after)

I love playing this game! I’ve played through it multiple times, and it took me awhile to fully understand that Wander is actually the bad guy. It makes playing the game so much harder, because I have to hurt and kill these beautiful and innocent Colossi for selfish reasons. It’s such a beautiful game though. It’ll always be one of my favorites💞

YES MARZ!!! WOOOOOOO!! It's Shadow of the Colossus time! Great job taking down 3 so quickly, and thanks for the long video.
Things are definitely a little different compared to the PS2 version, but i'm curious if the opening cinematic did indeed start almost after you loaded the disc (after studio credits). Otherwise i'd feel bad for nagging you about it. They also changed the button layout, because in the original game JUMP was the TRIANGLE button and INCREASE GALLOP SPEED was the X button. It was weird to jump with triangle but i guess they changed it for this version.
Now you understand why I said to include all your footage of you traversing the land when on your horse and to not cut any of it out. It really is a huge part of the game experience. You are right, this game really does give you a feeling of emptiness and being alone in such a vast land. And we want you to explore this world. So if you want to explore, then please explore and take us with you. There only goodies you can obtain through exploring are white-tailed lizards (that increase your stamina gauge) and fruit on trees (that increase your health). The last thing you'll find are smaller temples that you can pray/save your game, which can be useful if you decide to explore away from where you're supposed to go.
You probably figured this out but you do NOT need to hold TRIANGLE to keep Agro running. You only need to tap it to whatever speed you want then you can let it go. Think of it as a fan with button speed settings, rather than a gas pedal.
And PRO-TIP, when on Agro:
-If you press Left Stick (down) + TRIANGLE from a standstill, Agro will rear up on his hind legs into a max speed run.
-If you press Left Stick (down) + TRIANGLE while running, Agro will come to a quick halt as he does at 58:47.
Give it a try.

I always loved how the music when you kill a colossi is so...sad. You should be feeling victorious, but the music makes you truly wonder if you did a good thing. And as anyone who has played knows, time will tell if its a good idea to destroy the colossi. =P
I just love agro, his stubborness is somewhat similar to trico, I'm glad he's along with us for the entire journey

SWEET!! Been looking forward to this run :) Little Tips: Most people that I've watched play this really fight with the camera and Agro. You should still be able to turn off camera correction in the settings, that will prevent the camera from snapping back to Wander giving you better control of where it points. So just something to experiment with if you wish, and Agro controls herself. You only need to flick the analog stick in the direction you wish to keep her running. Its a bit odd at first, bc its instinct to fully control what's on screen, but she controls herself. Also, down on the d-pad is to empty your hand. If you stand next to Agro and press the "pick up item button", whatever that is in this version of the game, Wander will pet her. And finally, have fun and explore the best you can with the time you have. There is much to see and the entire map is open to you.
I'll have to look for it next time I play. Someone also mentioned motion blur which I want turned off asap if I can lol. I'm so excited to dive back in soon!

Kneeling will also bring back your stamina and health back quicker. Praying at shrines helps too.

Wow that was awesome ! I didn't expected the game to be this gorgeous. You had some point of views on those "bridges" that were incredible. For a game that old even now it's still magical. The remaster seems very well done and not cheap like they usually are.. and the soundtrack is calm and peaceful.
The animations of Agro is very realistic and the angle of the camera when he gallops gives an impression of speed that I've never seen in any videogames featuring horses !
Concerning the story so far : I really don't know what to think of killing those colossus. Like you, it feels kinda wrong. Just because some voices told you that you could *maybe* resurrect the soul of the girl, only if you kill them. I mean you have no way to be sure they can do it, maybe they're just tricking the guy (does he have a name ?) to do some dirty work...
We know nothing of those colossus so far and we are asked to kill them...
Great starting episode ! Since I've never done or seen this game, I'm glad it will be with you that I'll discover it :) Can't wait for the next episode. I hope you're not crawling under homework or stuff like that^^
maybe a little late but the souls are the residents and parts of soul from the person the colossus was before, the beings are created by concentrated light and dark. the lore behind the whole game connects extremely well to different mythes all around the world.

I downed 6 colossi meanwhile and this game rocks! Its so relaxing and beautiful... think I'll play through this several times and try to get the platinum trophy. I really enjoy watching you playing it too! Also I prefer if you read the lines from the game, your voice is very pleasant for a woman.

Each of the 16 colossi are filled with Dormins shadow (soul) - you release them, take it into you and Dormin recalls you so his shadow can congregate at the temple :) Also, you asked about why theres no one living there - its a cursed land that people wont go to because of Dormin and the colossi are there.
Also with the last one, it IS possible to jump onto him without breaking his armor, and you get an achievment for doing so.

Another great video Marz, the hardest part of the game is figuring out how to climb each colossus, that's part of the puzzle. As for other things to do, without spooling it, keep collecting the Gecko tails and look in large trees for something else to collect. Both help you but I won't tell you how. Cheers! :)
