Notre Dame could be that surprise in all honesty. I understand why people doubt them, but when you look at that coaching staff and the talent on that roster, it's hard to think they won't have a great season.

They avoid Air Force and Fresno in regular season play . Oregon is a tough game to win and I don’t think they will but get this, Boise has covered the spread Vs the ducks every time including the last time they played when the broncos won 37-32 .
Another dark horse- Missouri isn’t getting much love and there isn’t much talk about the tigers that have an easy schedule for sec standards . They return a solid group back that beat osu in the new year 6 bowl game . I like the tigers to be in the playoff as well with uga and either Alabama Texas or ole miss not 2 or 3 of those .

The preseason polls mean nothing but the one thing that really puzzles me is how they left Clemson out for just one reason because they haven't taken anyone from the portal not to mention that they always have a top 10 defense so far they have receivers healthy all 5* but even though they say Miami is good every year they end up nothing. Ohio States last two titles were quaterbacked by Cardale Jones and Craig Krenzel. I think Howard is at least as good, if not better than both of those Qbs.
@@garretttotten4499 because the scheme sucked, we never prioritized the run game with day as HC like we will under chip as OC. We never ran the QB either. Howard isn't as great of a passer but he will be greatly helped by a better offensive scheme

People continuously underestimate what Michigan lost. Whole oline, 3 year QB, whole coaching staff and a bunch of 5-6 year players. If one or two of those defenders go down with an injury, they are looking at 5-6 losses.
