Your videos are excellent, they should be shown in schools! People don’t seem to understand how bad alcohol is just because it’s legal, I haven’t drank for over 7 years now and my life has improved in every way. Thank you for sharing your stories.

Before retiring l wound down as an A&E porter for 8 years. Met so many nice people who were alcoholics, it was so sad, l'd see them again and again and knew when the end was coming....all ages, lovely families visiting, totally normal apart from being unable to stop drinking alcohol. Doing that job sent my own intake right down.

Hello, my name is Mike. I'm 61 years old, I have always drunk I cannot stop. I used to drink a lot of vodka but about 5 years ago I couldn't drink it anymore as I was always sick with it. I drink only wine now, but about 15 years ago I was diagnosed with diverticulosis so when my stomach became very bloated and as Steve said my belly button is red and stretched, I had a scan about 6 months ago and was told I have a fatty kidney and just given some antibiotics, whenever I have a flare up I just get given antibiotics, can never get an appointment is so frustrating they keep saying it's my diverticulosis, but hearing Steve this morning saying the symptoms he had it's exactly the same as I have. I'm feeling so happy that my symptoms are or will be recognised, maybe I know, but I will try to see a doctor. But I'm sure it's an Umbilical Hernia. A million Thanks Steve.guys like you make guys like me feel not so alone.👍
Hi Mike sorry for the delay in responding, the issue with ascites and the stomach swelling makes the stomach area very hard to the touch. It is a solid mass .. I am sure the doctor wouldn’t miss it Let me know if it’s hard to the touch and make another appointment with your GP Please subscribe and keep in touch 👍
I guess there’s a culture of drinking in the police as there was in the prison service, the club was usually just outside the jail and remained open till the early hours selling cheap booze, a recipe for alcoholism as many of the staff were and some paid the ultimate price
I've just had a drink on my Birthday been sober for two weeks 😢 I've decided not going back to it 😢 this drinking lark is so overatted 😢I've definitely decided no more for me😅
Knowing the effects of alcohol use, turning all too quickly into alcohol abuse is interesting and oh so valuable. The best way of course is to not drink in the first instant, not as ridiculous as it seems. Afterwards, if you are a social drinker some self discipline must be applied. Knowing the consequences of alcohol abuse is essential. Your insights here and your sharing of your experience with alcohol is saving lives, I’m sure it is. Well done Steven.
Richard Burton said that quitting alcohol was like being in a boxing match and when you put your head on the pillow at the end of the day you have beaten that boxer for another day but be careful because one day he's going to hit you and down you will go . . . .It's a constant fight.
After 106 days and 14 hours I had a few drinks last night. 3 beers. Probably gonna drink in moderation until Christmas. Then back to sober living. Last night showed me i am not really missing out on much. It was nice to try some beers I’ve had saved for a while quality stuff, but the actual alcohol. Didn’t have the urge to drink more.
@@stevencurry215 I don't know why they couldn't give you diazepam. I went to the hospital a couple of times and they discharged me with Librium which is even better.
@@stevencurry215 Still, he could have given you about 10-14 pills and it would have worked. Trouble is with outpatient detoxes the provider might be leery because what if you decided to drink on them? I can see that. Benzos and alcohol are dangerous.
