    Man you saved me some money. Just got the boat and noticed I had to put flooring down. Perfect idea with the exercise mat, also the clips on the seats is brilliant.

    Wire the depth finder into a power plug then you can plug it in the side of your battery on one of the charging ports when needed . That old Trolling motor bracket is not a bad idea for keeping your boat from tail swing but i would have not put the Transducer on the end of shaft that will be the first thing that gets broke or add some kind of guard on the backside for limbs . It wouldn`t take much a thin 1/4 aluminum flat metal bent just right . You get the pic. Your right a Rudder is a must some times i have my 3.3 Mercury motor and when i don`t . I have a small paddle and a c clamp clamp to the back of the boat . Enjoyed your video I do relies this video is a couple years old and you probably don`t have it anymore or did more upgrades . Wished i could do a pic. of mine that you could see Thanks again

    I really enjoyed this video. Just bought my bass raider and I LOVE IT.
    1 note, the "rudder" in the back of the boat is actually a "skeg". Rudders turn to adjust direction. Skegs are fixed in place in order to just keep you tracking straight.
    If I move the trolling motor to the front, I would def add a skeg, but you could make one much easier by buying one of those straight canoe paddles and cutting the paddle off the handle, replace the handle with PVC and run it to a T with male a female threaded PVC so you can just swing it down and up much easier. would also be lighter and less bulky.
    Either way, this was a great video. love the detail! Definitely going to use some of these suggestions!

      taprackbang88 Thanks bro! Haha, I'll credit you and the skeg in my deck video. Thanks for the clarification! Waiting on it to warm a bit down here in Mississippi before I start the deck insert (believe it or not).

    Yep, a rudder is a must. You can install an eye bolt on the front to attach the crank strap. It’s easier to install and remove than the trolling motor. I show it in my Pelican Modifications video. I kinda miss my pelican.

    good info...I've had my Pelican for 2 months now.....the great thing about these little boats.......they can be modified to fit your individual needs......I fish by myself so mine is set up differently than someone that has a fishing partner......I was wondering.....do you back the trailer into the water to launch and load???.....that's what I do and the launch is easy but the load, if it's windy, can be a challenge.....I generally just have to wade out and get it straight on the trailer.....I put side rails on my trailer but it still turns sideways if the wind is blowing.....

    • @NOLERSWAMP9
      @NOLERSWAMP9  5 лет назад +1

      Billy Markwell yes sir, loading back on trailer is definitely more challenging with wind. I usually stand on my trailer in water and pull it in with my rope. Then secure it and pull up.

    • @billymarkwell1105
      @billymarkwell1105 5 лет назад +1

      @@NOLERSWAMP9 I've been trying different ways.....tieing ropes to both sides and even the end.....nothing works.....thanks for the comeback...

    • @NOLERSWAMP9
      @NOLERSWAMP9  5 лет назад

      Billy Markwell I put just enough of the trailer in the water to float the boat on to it, but then pull it up the rest of the way and secure it enough to pull off. If too much of trailer is in water the boat will move all over, ha. That's a mess my friend.

    • @billymarkwell1105
      @billymarkwell1105 5 лет назад +1

      @@NOLERSWAMP9 my intent was to find a way to load.....without having to wade out into the water......currently the only thing that I think might work ....is to rais the side rails.....I may tackle that project this summer when it's too hot to fish.....

    Great video. I love your mat & rubber. My suggestions:
    In my state I have to have a USCG approved throw cushion on board, I have 2 one for each seat, they are less than $10 & just as comfortable as $100 seats. Plus they can save a life.
    I also use some VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty Industrial Strength Tape, to secure my fishing rods, at both ends, the low sides makes it easy to kick a fishing rod into the deep six.

    I know this might be a dumb question but i just got my bass raider yesterday and have a 45lb thrust minn kota , i have it mounted on the other side where the fuse wires are and your minn kota battery box is.... is that the wrong side to mount the trolling motor? i thought that was transom side?? Thanks for the help

    • @NOLERSWAMP9
      @NOLERSWAMP9  4 года назад

      From all my research, it is more efficient battery wise up front. Not a dumb question at all, man.

      @@NOLERSWAMP9 where did you get that cord that runs from one side of the boat back to battery in order to have trolling motor on the front? How much was it? I just added a small deck on front and back via 3/4 inch ply wood covered it with forest green marine carpet fits like a glove i love it . Hey also sorry man for all the questions when im operating the minn kota should i slowly ease into speed 5 or is it ok to just crank down to top speed when you want to move spots to fish?

    • @NOLERSWAMP9
      @NOLERSWAMP9  4 года назад

      FishingForBassTV Check out my other video where I added the troll king foot controlled option for the minn kota. It shows how I connect trolling motor to battery. Also, you can go straight to top speed with trolling motor. Just make sure you’re prepared for the sudden movement of the boat and don’t fall out. 👍🏻

    Why did you add a fuse to your battery setup? You said something about it getting hot..

    • @NOLERSWAMP9
      @NOLERSWAMP9  4 года назад +1

      Jamie Rice it comes from the store with an inline fuse in the back cable. I blew it when my trolling motor got hung on a root. Anyway, since I’ve gotten the Minn Kota Power Center I don’t need a fuse in the line any longer. I recommend this setup!

      @@NOLERSWAMP9 what caused the fuze to blow?

    • @NOLERSWAMP9

  • @jimmygambill1639

    Good video, why do you turn the head on the trolling motor 180?

    • @NOLERSWAMP9
      @NOLERSWAMP9  6 лет назад +3

      I like to fish from the front of my boat and the way the Minn Kota trolling motor comes out of the box is setup for use on the stern. You could technically keep it the way it is and put up front, but you wouldn't be getting what you pay for speed wise if you do. By turning the head I can mount to the front and forward is forward...reverse is reverse. With the trolling motor on the front on these boats it is a necessity to rig up a rudder or the boat will basically fish tail the entire time.
      Also, I like to stand while fishing. This boat is sturdy enough to do that easily. The trolling motor shaft is 36" and I really don't have to bend down at all to cut the motor on/steer. I usually steer with my legs, ha. They sell a trolling motor Big Foot Switch that helps not having to reach to cut the motor on as much (press button with foot). Hope this helps.
