Alestorm-Thunderfist Chronicles. Alestorm has completed the guitar and bass parts and still have to record keyboards, drums and vocals this month. The album is set for summer 2025!
Following are confirmed and should definitely be on your radar Revenge (war metal) Sacrifice (thrash) Phrenelith (death) Havukruunu (pagan/black) Mooncitedel (black) Vultures Vengeance (heavy/speed)
I think you are 100% correct. 2023 & 2024 were legendary at times for Death and Melo-death new offerings. 2025 may indeed be more "Core" driven as you stated. I am unfortunately not a huge fan of those genres, but I wish those bands success in their new chapters. I can only hope for some great Doom (gothic/funeral) , Atmospheric Black , and Death metal releases. In time?? keep up with the great content! ☮🕊
A new Shadow of Intent album would be awesome! Super excited for Whitechapel and Blackbraid too. Hoping Carach Angren releases something this year too since they have been recording recently
Also in this year from my country (Latvia 🇱🇻)a metal band called "Skyforger" are releasing a new album.it's a folk metal and about war ,but it's really good they are releasing it in may 3 I think
2025, The Year of the Core? Im here for it too girl. I am in recovery from a crippling breakdown addiction, but relapse is a part of recovery, so lets go for one more run here in 2025 🎉 Hopefully these releases can bring some respect to thier respective sub genres so they are not automatically labeled as "twinkcore" by the Hells HeadBanger's community.
Definitely some good stuff coming this year. I’m excited for the Aborted show here in Columbus next month (with Stabbing). Also, I also know that my favorite metalcore band ever is working on a new album as we speak, Norma Jean. Their albums get better and better every release and I have high expectations for this one.
Christian munzner claims that the new obscura record is using some of his riffs after he backed out of the band, without giving them permission to use the riffs. He says that some of the riffs in the singles he has recorded for use on his project eternities and new album. Just want to put that out there if you hear the same riff in two different albums...
Big shitstorm in the technical death metal scene at the moment with that Obscura situation. And Steffen that still hasn’t adress the situation. They are losing a lot of fans there.
First off, ABSOLUTELY dig into some Obscura. I recommend Akroasis or Omnivium. And secondly, Imperial Triumphant was the 2nd metal band you listened to and it clicked? That's equal parts awesome and shocking. Nearly everyone I introduce them to just gives me this incredibly uncomfortable look while listening as if they're hearing nails on a chalkboard lol.
Looking forward to getting records from: Jinjer,Lacuna Coil,Spiritbox and Arch Enemy as i'm a sucker for female fronted music. But also the new Dream Theater,King Diamond and Testament.
Stabbing recorded a new album last year so we are for sure getting that one this year. Devourment also started recording their new album in October, so hopefully we'll see that one this year too.
Obscura is very different nowadays compared to when they started. Big lineup changes and drama within the band. I’m a huge Obscura fan but I was really unimpressed with their album from 2021. I’m not gonna pick up this new one. Their first 5 albums are absolutely worth looking into. To start the year off, I’m 100% picking up Jinjer, Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy. Also one that you didn’t mention: Phrenelith! Phrenelith is so awesome! You also piqued my interest with the Spiritbox band. I’ve been hearing about them but haven’t ever listened to them yet. Good vid! Here’s to 2025 👍
Zenith from Bleed from Within will be another good, quite possibly great 'core' release in 2025 (April 4). They're one of the few metalcore bands I'm really into because they mix in so many other elements. Triptykon announced a while back they were targeting 2025 for the release of their next album, but I have no idea what's going on with that and whether it will happen. Revocation, The Haunted, Onslaught and Inferi were all in the studio recording new material in 2024, so releases from all of them seem likely in 2025. Also, if you haven't listened to Obscura before I highly recommend Diluvium, it's just incredible from start to finish, a 10/10 album in my opinion. As for Destruction their last album, Diabolical, was actually really good, their best in a long while.
All VADER is killer, also check out NECROPOLIS and IMPRESSIONS IN BLOOD from VADER as well but if you want a good compilation of VADER to start you off then XXV album is the way to go.
Another one I saw on a Facebook page for a band I really enjoy named Arkaik, made a New Year's day post right after the ball drop mentioning they will have new music coming up. I'm pretty stoked about that. I'm definitely excited for Imperial Triumphant, Exodus, and Testament. Would be cool to see Immolation but highly doubt it
I would love new Immolation too! They did just have those picture disks release on HHR and went on a tour last year or so, so it could be possible! I haven't heard anything about the new Testament, but that would be stellar!
2024 was insane for death metal, with Fulci, Undeath and 200 Stab Wounds latest probably getting the most playtime from me in that genre. I'll pass on most of the "-core" stuff
As an old man (that started into metal with Paranoid) that has only recently got back into metal - well, the first Slipknot was a while back, as was Mudvayne, but the years fly by - for a while there, it was really mostly nu-metal, then prog and stoner (I got into Tool a good while before all this, but didn't get into others) some doom and sludge, it took me a while to embrace thrash - at any rate, cores hold my interest at the moment, like Darko US, Lorna Shore, Slaughter to Prevail, and quite recently, Disembodied Tyrant. I'm still mostly out of the loop, but 2025 sounds encouraging.
About the Destruction album with 13% rating: It was the 90s! You are lucky you weren't there. Everything went grunge/groove/nu-metal. It was a horrible time! Also that album was made without main man/singer/bassist Schmier. Shouldn't have been released under the Destruction name.
Releases u missed: The Halo Effect - 'March of the unheard' (Band featuring all former members of In Flames) on Jan. 10 Bleeding Through - 'Nine' (O.C, California metalcore band w/ black metal and emo influences) on Feb 14 Primal Fear - 'Domination' (German power metal giants) on Sept. 5 New Destruction records are actually superior to their 80's thrash metal albums, mainly because the 80's production could never capture their live sound... They have recently upgraded to a 2-guitar line-up, despite founding guitarist Mike Sifringer leaving in 2021. Vader is a crushing death metal band from Poland... They don't get enough credit w/ Piotr 'Peter' Wiwczarek (vocals/ guitar) being the sole original member.
I have been waiting on the cornholers album all holes slammed it's gonna be a banger as the kiddies would say all about cornholers and cornholeing everything in sight love these guys can't wait 👍
So am i the only one that knows that all that remains is coming out with a new one this month? Suprised you have missed this one. Yeah if five finger is making a new one they said it is his final album because he wants to focus on family so yeah i mean i love five finger.a couple of songs on their first and second album but after that i really like all their others
I watch a few of these videos, and I'm regularly GOBSMACKED at how often Devin Townsend is excluded from them. One of the most important, prolific and talented artists in heavy music history. Set to release one of the key albums of his three-decade-plus career. 🤦🤦♂🤦♀
Are you talking about his new record Powernerd? If so it already came out in October of 2024! I know I promoted that one in an earlier video a few months ago. If not, then I haven’t seen anything on a new album for 2025 since he just released something.
Blackbraid- "nothing super groundbreaking"....how many other Black Metal bands use Native American influences? I'm not even a fan but you're talking nonsense. Who really cares if Pestilence use AI? It's the music that counts. Then I stopped watching. Fucking dumb about Vader too.
I bought a Pestilence record on Bandcamp after seeing them and Mexico Metal Fest last fall, and then a week later I heard about the AI art and asked for a refund, and thankfully Bandcamp gave me my money back with no questions asked! I deleted the downloaded files (although they're obviously okay with stealing art, so I could've kept them without compunction, but I don't want to give my attention to a group that steals from artists). Fuck AI for stealing from artists while burning up our environment!
January: 03 - Paleface Swiss: Cursed 10 - The Halo Effect: March of the Unheard 16 - Harakiri for the Sky: Scorched Earth 24 - Fleshbore- Painted Paradise 24- The Great Old Ones: Kadath 31 - All That Remains: Antifragile 31 - Afflicta: Origin of Sorrow 31 - Revenge: Violation.Strife.Abominate 31 - The Night Flight Orchestra: Give Us the Moon 31 - Unreal Overflows: Slaves of the Inhuman Future World

What releases are you the most excited for? Did I miss anything? 👀
Deicide Deep Dive coming to y'all next week! Stay tuned!
I'm kind of excited for Coroner to release their new album. People (Tool fans) don't know what it's like to wait for YEARS AND DECADES.
Alestorm-Thunderfist Chronicles. Alestorm has completed the guitar and bass parts and still have to record keyboards, drums and vocals this month. The album is set for summer 2025!
@@Wildchild4ever If Coroner get their album out in 2025 that would be great, but I'm not holding my breath. They've been taking their time over it.
Following are confirmed and should definitely be on your radar
Revenge (war metal)
Sacrifice (thrash)
Phrenelith (death)
Havukruunu (pagan/black)
Mooncitedel (black)
Vultures Vengeance (heavy/speed)
for me it's the release of Epica's new album
I think you are 100% correct. 2023 & 2024 were legendary at times for Death and Melo-death new offerings. 2025 may indeed be more "Core" driven as you stated. The love for Spiritbox!!!! 🩷🩷
They’re my favorite band and I cannot wait for Tsunami Sea.
2024 was indeed a great year for death metal. Funny how it goes in cycles now.
A new Shadow of Intent album would be awesome! Super excited for Whitechapel and Blackbraid too. Hoping Carach Angren releases something this year too since they have been recording recently

Five Finger Death Punch's music is unintentionally hilarious, so it's definitely good for a laugh at least. Not good for much else though.
FEAR FACTORY WITH MILO ???!!! THAT IS GONNA BE THE MOST EXPECTED ALBUM !!!
The Halo Effect this Friday January 10
I liked Angela Gosow way more too. The last album was actually pretty good though.
Man this might be a light year for me. At least Of Feather and Bone is releasing a new album I think
I think Wormrot might release a new album this year. I really hope so.
Ah! Yes I forgot that their OG singer came back!! Thank you for putting them back on my radar. Definitely hope they release something this year 🙏🙏
Why you skip January? This month is 2025 strong start with new Halo Effect, The Great Old Ones, and Harakiri for the Sky albums.

I’ve never liked her
Not to me. Angela is more agressive than her and I like it.
better than angela? lol never
