Many of my old subscribers remember this unliucky song, which was very unfortunate for my channel. Now I have decided to use this topic not for Germany in the 1930s, but for the reunification of Germany in 1990, because its really important day for all Germany!. Rammstein, by the way, is quite calm about the GDR and even criticizes the FRG and NATO in his songs
Only song I could think of where they do that is Deutschland - and there the GDR is explicitly included. Amerika was criticized for its pointless wars back in the early 2000s, that's fair but they have also made it clear which side they are on in the current conflict - and it ain't Russia's!
I didn't say a word about Russia, although it is also largely imperialist, which, however, does not deny the imperialism of other countries

I am German and the ending surprisingly made me cry really hard. In school, I attended history advanced course, so I am familiar with our past, but still the animation hit me right in the feels.
The ending confuses me a little, because in the GDR it was possible to write a request to travel abroad to the FRG. For example, some residents of East Germany sometimes visited West Germany for to see their relatives. So, for example, some German from Saxony can come to Bavaria to visit his aunt

Practically, issuing such a request got you on the government's radar pretty quickly and came will all kinds of "disadvantages" to your career, social and personal life. Also, these requests were often just flat-out denied. Pensioners had it easier though. After all, if they decided to stay in the west, the East German State wouldn't have to keep paying them their pension.
After all, being too lenient on these requests would have rendered the Berlin Wall and the militarized border pointless.

Despite the Nazis and Americans destroying socialism in Europe, socialism survives and will win. Humanity will have a great future once fascism (particularly US/NATO imperialism) is finally eradicated.

@@divan_politika228echnically yes, but you probably had to be high up in power for that to ever happen. East Germany was a totalitarian dictatorship, and like all other dictatorships they’re obviously not going to allow their citizens to travel to a free country.

Pretty telling that the DDR was pseudo -Soviet garbage that their Secret Police were burning files and running away as the wall fell. They were probably also glad to escape the "proud" Soviet tradition of freezing in the winter and running short of food and goods.

NO translation sub-text. Anyway, if you speak English well enough, and have

After the war where everywhere in Westgermany nazis and mane of them were in the politic, police, Bundeswehr or founded the west German and Austrian national services of the Bundesländer. Also West Chancellors were to some part Nazi war criminals and mass murderer. West Germany is not in this video seen only the antifacist GDR on the Nazi parts of the song.

@@kozachok3543 I think you misunderstood what I said: this video heavily implied that East Germany was using the sins of Nazi Germany as a way of legitimizing their authoritarian rule.
That one part where the reunification of Germany mad me so happy, because the Germans Suffered for years than FINALLY East Germany and West Germany formed into Germany
Anschluss not unification. Also this piece of shit of a treaty were against the will of over 70 % of all East Germans which don’t wantet to be part of the west. They wantet to behold but reformed their country with real socialism.
This is not unification, this is annexation. After all, there was not a single factor of the union, moreover, if the GDR refused to join the FRG, NATO would have invaded East Germany, because the USSR was weak and had almost collapsed by that time
@divan_politika228 Annexation? NATO was okay with the status quo. They thought the Eastern Bloc was going to Westernize with the Russians not retreating. Well, it just started to collapse after an Austrian picnic.

Можно нарисовать мультик про злое ГДР, где дефициты, гулаги и прочее, а можно нарисовать мультик про злое ФРГ, где все бедные, где в элиту вливали деньги по плану Маршалла, где повсюду красивая реклама и полные полки магазинов, но в кармане у тебя такая зарплата, что едва ли ты сам сможешь это купить.
И представить всё так, что Фашистская германия осталась в лице ФРГ, а светлые социалисты из ГДР всё пытались наставить своих западных братьев на светлый путь.
И ничто из этого не будет оригинальным видением авторов из Rammstein.

Что за бред?! Самый лучший период в истории Германии приходится где-то с 1871 года и вплоть до 1945. С 1945 года Германия переживала не лучшие времена, ведь она была раздроблена, но момента объединения и по наши дни, обстановка значительно стала лучше, хотя к сожалению не такой, как в былые годы от Отто Бисмарка и до Адольфа Гитлера. А ваши коммунистические бредни основаны лишь на пропаганде и не более. Мой отец служил в ГДР и я видел последствия на примере небольших населенных пунктов, вроде Родерау или Цайтхайна и немцы местами даже не стали возвращаться в эти поселения и теперь там руины.

Either way surely the "DDR with reforms" would be like any other democracy or current Germany now, just not a puppet of the East
