Once again, nobody in the local/national media willing to ask the guy a serious question. Why is everything so surface level? Why nothing about him choosing a rebuild at age 55 with a 2 BE wins in 2 years team versus one that's made 8 of 10 NCAATs, S16, BET, BE regular season, COY, has great facilities, giving up on a chance to build around BHop/Carter etc.? Why nothing on him putting his house for sale on March 2nd? Is it right to make an unprecedented move to another conference school and to line it up during the season? Was it fair to the players? To the seniors? Why is everyone committed to having a good relationship with Ed instead of pressing him on some very basic decisions that he made
@@Willthethrill478 this is why I posted what I did. Way too narrow of a viewpoint to just say it's the $$$. You know he was paid as a top-20 coach at Providence right? A legacy program? In what decade? Providence had it going. Georgetown has been the 2nd worst BE team since 2013. A small pay increase lures you into a rebuild at age 55 with a guaranteed (pre BHop injury) tournament team?
@@DavidPinsonneaultTri Dave, I’m still a bit pissed he left but hate to say GTown is a better job then PVD, just is. Why do other college coaches leave good programs for a legacy program? Same, $ and facilities and possibly a shot at a Duke, Michigan or Kansas type job. Look at all the great coaches we’ve had here in PVD, they all left for greener pastures when team was playing at high level.
@@Willthethrill478 when was the last time a great coach left PC for a better job? 1998? 25 years ago? Georgetown has been the 2nd worst team in the BE since 2013. Maybe living in the past does a disservice to what our program looks like now. Things have changed

Ed, are you really going to talk about race? How many black coaches are there in NCAA basketball now? I'd like to think Providence hired whom they thought was the best candidate. Period. If race had to be a qualification, shame on them. And a coach who stays on for 12, 20, 25 years, etc doesn't necessarily means he lacks the "courage." By the way, if you truly believe you needed Jesus today, you would understand you need him EVERY day.
@@nolan9173 No, black coaches should absolutely be encouraged toward excellence but universities should never discriminate with hiring and shouldn't have racial preferences. Hiring a black coach is not ground-breaking in 2024, and thank God for that.

C’mon Dave, it’s the $$, he’s one of the highest paid in NCAA now in a legacy program, he can’t walk away from that.

With a new coach comes new expectations. PC was 8-12 seed, 4-5 (occasionally win BE) in BE, 1st weekend exits..... English about set ish up.

the answer is clearly not enough. People advocating for more black HCs in this sport should just stop?
