“You’re pissed off I understand.” That 2nd ump must have aced his conflict management classes.
Also, he probably agreed that the strikeout pitch was horsesh*t.
@@CytoplasmicGoo LETS GO
He understands
@@kermitwilson strike zone is not up for debate its always an auto ejection. you argue strike zone youre gone.
That ump switch was funny.
"Counsell comes out..." Sounds like they got lawyers involved

@@not-a-person Robo-lawyers will be arguing with robo-umps.
@@ShuffleboardJerk At least it'll get to judgement quickly.

Umpires try to make the game about them so they get camera time for their next gig.
Absolute trash. These bums deserve to be kicked in the nuts the second they walk off the field.
It was a HotDog.
The ollll’ Pick-n-Roll. Works every time.
Greg Pop would approve
The ollll’ dick twist
I could hear the Van Gundy commentary in my head on the replay: That's just a solid fundamental umpire play - he saw his teammate struggling to create separation from his man in isolation so he came and set a nice, hard screen on his man to create that space and give his teammate a wide open lane to roll right to the replay booth
Followed by Hubie: he was a little late getting to his spot, but still, ya gotta love the upside on this official
Malone had enough so Stockton stepped in.
James Harden special
Even though he wasnt able to snag the ball, that jump by the Cardinals leftfielder at the end was amazing.
Tyler O'Neill is one hell of an athlete
A freak of an athlete. Jacked af and the 13th fastest in the league. Hits for power easily and has a fast swing. Last year's Golden Glove in LF. Only his third year in the league too.
Definitely one worth watching.
@@donnymcjonny6531 Keep going i'm close
@@larl-earson 🤣🤣🤣
Tyler got high as fuck and not even a small mention in the vid lol
I love how that ump throws people out with an arm swing that looks like hes throwing a football in a Viagra commercial
How do people come up with such awesome jokes.. blows my mind
Yeah I’m stealing that joke at the appropriate occasion 😂
You see a lot of those commercials bud?
That Ump Switch caught me so off guard lmao
He popped into frame like a Dark Souls boss
"You're pissed off, I understand" is disarming. Pretty good!
classic first 2 steps of conflict de-escalation: listen and empathize

@@dexternegreanu4052 I guess he just wants them to pop him in the face rather than trying to descalate.
That was the most unenthusiastic throwing out of a player and a coach I’ve ever seen
As it should be. Why get emotionally attached to such a silly moment? He said some dumb shit, he's gone. End of event.
@@B3Band more specifically, automatic ejection for arguing balls and strikes. Whether or not the ump thinks that they should be ejected, per the rules they have to be. Which is why it was so half-hearted.
@@raf42 that’s such a bs rule. Umps need to be held accountable instead of throwing people out when they get exposed
@@Nonamegoodsir4332 I think its there to prevent the school yard argument and back and forth rather than being "exposed". If you could argue every ball and strike, the game would never end.
@@Nonamegoodsir4332 yelling at an ump on the field that you think he missed a call and that he sucks is not the way to hold the ump accountable. even if the ump missed the call, it solves nothing besides making the player or manager look like an unprofessional child. the fact that it's such a norm in the MLB is weird. on the field, if you think a call was missed, challenge it or formally protest the game if you can. if you can't, the call's not going to change no matter how much you yell and scream, so move on and focus on playing/coaching your best. if you have a real problem with an ump, address it with the league after the game
The ole switcheroo. That was smooth as butter, that creamy whipped butter that comes in a tub.
And it made it perfect that it actually worked! Like Counsell didn't try to go around him and keep yelling at the first ump. He actually started dealing with the new ump who actually defused the whole situation really well. That was awesome.
Wife immediately said “I have to see this” when she heard JomBoy laughing at his own breakdown
The 2nd ump could say, "You're pissed off, I understand." because he, the other two umps, and most of the people in the stands could easily see that the pitch was way outside. There are some very good ball and strike umpires in MLB but unfortunately there seems to be just as many poor ones.
Pitch was outside, yes. But “way outside” no way. Just slightly outside. I liked the call.
@@platypus842 I’ve never seen a mlb ump call a strike that outside in my whole life bruh!! You like the call that’s cuz you a cardinals fan, that was 3-4 balls off the plate hopefully your just being sarcastic tho
@@platypus842 Did we watch the same video? That pitch was so outside the catcher that when the catcher tried to frame it, it was still outside.
@@bleachy0399 Not a Cardinals fan. Still liked the call.
@@floridaman964 I’m of the opinion that the strike zone outside should be extended slightly further out from over the plate.
Lmfao Tyrone Taylor cheesing at the end. That's always how he smiles
Legit one of my favorite Jomboy breakdowns out there. The surprise of the new ref; the incompetence of the old one; the actual result. Everything!
I love the little look/nod catchers give pitchers after a bad pitch....like "it's okay buddy just settle down"
That attempt by that left fielder who tried to rob the HR was sick
soooo close too
The ump transition was INCREDIBLE!
I knew JomBoy would break this down for us today! Love how everyone just laughed it off and went with it.
The fact that jomboy lip reads everything just makes it 10 time better
That home plate ump has been in these breakdowns way too much recently.
@Harry Bagina found the racist
@@GiDD504 Yep.
@Harry Bagina do you really need to bring that crap to the discussion dude?
*you’re pissed off, I understand*
Lmao the second ump with the screen play! Counsell had no idea it was coming.
The great umpire switch of 2021. This day will be looked back on with reverence. At mention of the event, everyone will hear "say it again" in the distance.
Not as funny as you thought it was
Good de-escalation skills on the part of the pick-setting ump.
Video Idea: Jomboy, I think you should review Miami vs. Fiu in 2006. Since football season is around the corner I think it would make for a great video. 30 suspensions from the fight
Miami vs the flu? We call it "COVID-19" now.
College football? 🥱
I remember Michael Jordan vs Flu
lol this is a baseball channel not soccer
there's a google form in the description ya know
Lmao “look at Adames he’s all fired up he’s mad I think” hahaha
Excellent video as always, regarding the willy adames part of the video, he was definitely mad hahaha, he was cursing in Spanish, calling the ump "c**k sucker". 🤣🤣🤣
I use to love baseball. Thank you for making me remember that love. Keep up the hard work.
Agreed!
I was at this game. Never knew this convo even happened. It’s a whole different experience up in the bleachers. I do remember that home run though.
Umps are like parents. They get to make all the calls and if you argue with them they throw you out.
1:39 ...What makes it even funnier with the umpire suddenly popping into the scene like that is they both kinda look alike, at least their profiles. It's like looking into a mirror lol. It's like he's talking to his subconscious trying to calm himself down. " You're pissed off I understand...,just calm down Craiggy" lol
Counsell needs to be in more breakdowns, he's pretty amusing when he gets ejected.
He really gets into their faces which I love lol
I may add "Uh-oh, Ump Switch!" to fun terms to use when people argue with me now. Still laughing about it.
The "LETS'S GOOO"'S always get me. Lol
A 2 sport breakdown in one. Homeboy Jomboy has elevated his game on this one.
Love Willy Adames. Glad to see he’s rocking it up there
That was sooo smooth
Can we shout out the camera man for perfectly framing that up.
Jonboy should be hired by every MLB team to help read lips during mound visits, what a remarkable skill to have lmao
GO BREW CREW!!!! Love your videos Jomboy, love the sausage race one, COME BACK TO MILWAUKEE AND DO MORE BREWERS BREAKDOWNS!!!! We love it lol
Same ump just now rang up Votto on a pitch way outside too. Instead of bases loaded, one out, it's 1st and 2nd, two out
Easily my favorite channel lately
Lol you could see the ump lulling the guy to sleep, just letting him talk setting him up for the pick n roll lol
By the time the ball got to the catcher's mitt, it was way outside, but on its way there, curving as it did, it hit the front corner of the strike zone.
agreed, it was a nice pitch
4 breakdowns in a row??? 🔥🔥🔥
Always love to see games that I’ve been to
Love ur commentary
The pick and roll is so good it transcends sports
Every time I ride a roller coaster and we crest over the top of the lift hill, I can’t help but scream LETS GOOOOOO
That really was a great pick, the way it looks on camera it’s like counsell didn’t even see it coming
I remember this game. This crew was awful the whole series.
Great way of putting it.
they won 2/3 tho?
@@ericpatt9639 I'm a Cardinals fan, but they were terrible for both teams. Arenado had two check swings called actual swings, they were bad.
@@dankburrito8345 oh the UMP crew! I read it as "the crew" like the brewers nickname sorry. Yeah those check swing calls were parody levels of bad
@@gadbammit4736 I forgot they were called the crew, but I've seen these umps before in other games they were just as bad.
I would have turned and said to him, "Thanks, Angel."
I'd like to see an umpire pick endless loop where one ump does the pick but then the manager gets mad at him and he can't get away so then another ump has to do a pick for him, but then the manager gets mad at the new ump and it just keeps rotating through the umps.
I just love the camera work here
Ump Switch..Priceless
Freeze frame at :34 seconds. The ball is in the zone while crossing the plate.... it just had major movement after initially crossing the plate.
That's how I see it.
yeah it looked good to me
I don’t even watch baseball but these commentaries are gold. Jomboy will be recruited for police video evidence analysis as his lip reading is that good
He said “ese mamaguevo” at the end 😂
I blinked and there was a new umpire standing in front of Counsell.
"You’re pissed off, I understand" is me talking to clients when I know my colleagues have fucked up, but can't say it
Why can't people just be honest about their mistakes? ffs
👍🏾😆🤣😅😎 good ol’ UMP SWITCH‼️🧢👀😆🤣😂 JOMBOY YOU DA BEST❗️
The ball never lies
Breakdown needed some globetrotter music when the umps broke out the pick and roll
Jomboy's *"LET'S GOOOO!!"* would make a great text tone.
Was worried we weren’t going to get one in this time… had to wait until the end. High drama.
second ump appeared like in a horror film. Jomboy add the scary sound effect.
I got say : I love these breakdown. I lost interest in baseball after the Expos left Montreal but these breakdowns are bringing me back :)
Ball never lies.
This cracked me up so hard
This break down is so underrated 🤣
“Just a counsel session real quick, for COUNSELL! How ‘bout that!” Jomboy’s quick wit and gift of gab is the reason why he’ll never be cancelled.
The way the second ump came in had me dying
Love how the "pick" Ump just fat stares him down......... Hahjahahahahahaha
Jomboy is a national treasure. They should put some of his hair in the Library of Congress before we lose it all.
They learned that from watching the old "good cop/bad cop" routine.
1:27 The Great Ump Switch of 2021 😂
Side note: That left fielder who misses the HR at end has HOPS!
lol that was a great ump, tell the guy you understand while calmly ushering him towards the bench.
"Ump switch" 😂
They are really showing themselves to do really well.
The ol' switcheroo!
I figured at least a little comment on O'Neill's wall climb out there in left.
You could tell by the ump's face he knew he goofed.
Great video
2:06 let's not ignore the incresible attempt to rob that homer
Every time I hear him say “Let’s go!” I want to finish it with “Coastaaaal YeAh!!!!”
This was the best game I've watched this year
The umps did a pick-and-roll 😂
The security guards would be charging me to get back into the stadium if I was that far outside.
🎶 Feelings... 🎶 Nothing more than feelings....
If an umpire misses a pitch, he should stand there and take it. Humans make mistakes, but let the guy you just reamed let off some steam.
Well, Rule 8.02(a) and its attached Comment aren't exactly flexible on that. One this is blowing off steam, another thing is arguing the call AND demonstrating (i.e. pointing at where you thought the pitch was). I think he could have given him a longer leash, I probably would have personally speaking, but the rules are there and they have to be respected and enforced.
@@ChrysoliteTwo And that is the point. Change the dumb rules. ORRRR be a man and don't enforce dumb rules.
Counsell is a Diamondback and Marlin legend. Respect!
When players yell "Let's Go!", where do they want to go and why aren't they going already?
Home
Hell
Disney World of course.
Goddamn, that’s funny. Did you just think that up all by yourself? Have you considered quitting your job and becoming a professional comedian?
At the end, 2:30, I was trying to guess which mouth you'd end the video with... But you didn't do either 😆
Prime opportunity though lol
not every day you see a perfect backetball screen in baseball
"You're pissed off..I understand. Might I share with you some CBT techniques proven to help people preserve? Walk with me."
Incredible defensive read on that play
LET'S GO!!!!!! YOU SEEN THEM COMMERCIALS YET??? "(LET'S GOOOOO)"!!! WOOOO! you started that shit Jom!
I’ve often wondered how they know the pitch is outside from the dugout
Maybe professional baseball players that hit 90+ mph fastballs for millions of dollars know a thing or two about pitch placement.
If a crowd of 40,000 fans can correctly boo a bad strike call without the TV overlay, then a dugout of professional players can identify a bad strike call.
They have a bunch of screens on the dugout with different camera views one of them being the same one we see over the pitcher
@@B3Band I think the point is perspective. From the side it'd be easy for the dugout to tell high or low but virtually impossible to tell inside or outside a few inches.
They can see where the catcher sets up and then they saw his glove go even more oustide
In this case, 2 reasons. 1) Narvaez is a catcher and knows the zone in general and specifically because he caught all night with this clown as umpire. And 2) the StL catcher moved the glove two feet to his left to catch it. Even after framing the pitch it was STILL outside.
I have come to the realization because of these videos that " Let's Go!" is the most used phrase in all of sports.
It even cuts across languages and cultures. In this clip (link at the end) at about 0:40, the Italian broadcast commentator shouts "ANDIAMO! ANDIAMO!" which translates to "Let's GO! Let's GO!" ruclips.net/video/mEwHzaEU2SI/видео.html
That would've been one hell of a catch.
Why does this say 40 years ago
