Toy story almost never got made because Disney just hated what Pixar was trying to do and kept rejecting storylines till it got to the point where they showed a horrible storyboard reel on black friday and it's just about killed Pixar/ shut them down and nearly laid off 200 peopl and the animators and directors of the film refused Pixar and disney made a deal of two week to return things around so they pulled the toy story storyboard reels for the movie in just two weeks and disney had never animated a movie before and wanted to stick to drawn animation

The title was correct toy story collection sells for 1,000$ easy so the pawn store scored big even outside the box. They practically robbed that guy. That Rex with the certificate outside box is worth 500-1000$ by himself. Google it.

If you have REX in the original box unopened. He is worth 900 bucks. Mr potato head in box unopened is worth 800 bucks. And Dolly in box unopened is SUPER Rare. She's probably worth like 1200. (gotta be signiture collection version tho.. Not just any version)

NGL, seeing all the toys from Toy Story sold to a pawn shop is depressing AF. It's worse than Andy giving the toys to Bonnie.
I actually bought my son a new Buzz Lightyear and Woody for his birthday today and I noticed both of them have Bonnie's name under their foot instead of Andy. Slightly heartbreaking. Its so cool to still have them around to relate to my son with, I remember the first Toy Story releasing around the time I was born, and seeing the 2nd Toy Story in theaters with my grandmother when I was only a few years old. Still have those movie theater tickets somewhere stored away.

It's not more 'reasonable', it's just that he knows he can stick it on eBay and it'll be gone in a week if need be. They say it themselves all the time, they aren't collectors, they're resellers. These people want cash immediately. If they wanted top dollar (and to pay 20-50% in fees), they'd put it in an auction. Or pay to advertise them in a collector's magazine and sell them that way.
People bag on this business model knowing little about it.
I remember having a few of these as a kid, specifically Buzz, Woody and the RC Car.
Holy, I’ve always wanted those Toy Story Collection toys when they came out, I remember watching videos on RUclips about them, Toy Story’s the reason i found youtube, this brings back so many memories of me sitting in the corner of the room with, slow internet, watching reviews and Amazon listings about these Toys Story Collection toys
The sad thing is I had almost every single one of these, and gave them away for about 20 bucks a piece at a yard sale

I'm a Toy Story collector and the most valuable item there was by a long way, Mr. Potato Head, even without the box. Lots of the items weren't scale versions which a collector with money isn't interested. I got £150 (about $200 US) from an Australian buyer on eBay (starting bid was 1 pence no reserve btw) for a spare "Disney on Ice" Lenny I had in the collection, about 8 years ago.

I was all about Mego superheroes and Kenner Star Wars for quite some time when I was younger but when I saw this episode I’m completely blown away especially with the Woodys roundup show in Toy Story 2
That is such a lowball. The RC and Mr. Potato head alone go for nearly &500 each, and the collector neglected to mention the cloud pattern collection and white logo collection that both predated the signature.

As a Toy Story collector myself the signature collection can go for way more than that, I know collectors have tried getting their hands on them regardless of their condition, the signature collection potato head alone goes for like $600!

Have this same collection that I began building in 2009. Have a limited edition HAMM made from porcelain and sized to proper scale.. found at a Disney store in 2009.
HOWEVER am Missing R/C, Rex and Lenny. Do have BOTH Buzz light-years including the impostor from Part 2. Glad to see I wasn't the only one collecting these

The expert hit the nail on the head, everyone is a collector now and buying toys in the hope that they will be profitable, so hard to judge what'll actually be rare in a few years.

So as a collector of the Collector series, the most valuable things in this line up was the Mr Potato Head and RC as they aren't produced any longer HOWEVER Potato Head is missing an ear and it appears that none of the figures have the certificate of authenticity. $325 is solid for both of those alone. Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Bullseye, aliens, and Green Army Men are all still produced you could go to Target right now and get these. And finally I could add that there is three versions of the Signature Collection series figures. The original ones from 2009 were just called Toy Story Collection and behind the logo was blue with clouds. The second wave was called Toy Story Collection but had a white background behind the logo. The third wave and still current is Toy Story Signature Collection with a gold background behind the logo. Your big money lies with the cloud logo figures mint in the box! Thanks for reading ❤️
