I used a D to photograph for my HS paper (67). Shot football and basketball games with the D and a Honeywell Strobonar “potato masher” flash with a 510 volt battery pack. Used that D until I wore out the film advance. Fun times!
Hi, Alex. A nice video about an interesting subject. I started, almost 40 years ago, with photography. Well, it's a small format so not a square format. Now I photograph digitally and from today I will start with my "square format project". You show here that it is a nice format to work with. I have already watched several videos about the square format and want to start with it. I will also use various film simulations to get your feeling when taking a photo. I am disabled so what I always did in the "film era", developing and making prints myself, is not an option. But watching videos like this makes me a bit nostalgic for the time when I still had my darkroom. Good luck friend. Antoine. (Netherlands) PS: Yashica is an excellent camera. So "Poor Man's Rolleiflex" I don't agree.
TLR cameras are the best. I have a Rolleicord and a Yashica 124g. Love the form factor and the look-down viewing. Typically get comments from the public. “Oh, man, old school” or “What an awesome camera!”
Love this video my man! I recently acquired a Ricohflex TLR as well as a Yashica-A. Waiting for my film to be delivered so I can start blasting. Much love from Tennessee🙏🏼
Thank you so much! Hope your A treats you well. I'll have to make a trip up to Tennessee soon. I usually venture out to NC and SC but don't find myself in TN too often!
Just started binging your channel. Honestly, your compositions rock! Love the videos
Thank you so much!
I shot my whole HS yearbook in '66 with a Yashica D.

Thank you! Best of luck with your project, I hope it goes smoothly!
Yashica TLRs are brrrrrilliant! I sometimes pre-focus and the frame through the sports finder at eye level if its easier to compose😉😉
I'm liking your composition with square formatting ALOT!
Thank you!
Love the square format dude! Really want to try it out myself, but that shot of the truck door is 🔥
Thank you! And you should! There's so many affordable options to get into it with.
