Graham is an elite soldier that, in fact, relies on his friend to keep his equipment up to date. A better parallel would be Mu: A talented, experienced pilot that does a lot with very little.
Lowe loves his Gundam Astray like a builder loves his gunpla. Always looking for new ways to modify it to look cooler, and equipping it with new stuff he finds and customizes. He's such an awesome character, plus he saved Kira.

I just recently purchased the Hi- Resolution Red Frame Astray model, and let me tell you. It's a great adaptation to the Manga and this short video's counterpart. It's incredibly well detailed. The paint applications are amazing. The frame and armor depth, die cast in the feet and upper legs for superior balance, and its articulation points are off the charts. Easily surpassing even today's master grade models. I just finished assembling it last night, and I love it. Well worth the money.
+Daichi82 Production costs would skyrocket, since the story-line would need more than SEED+SEED Destiny combined in terms of episodes if it does cover ALL of the Astray Mangas alone (Red Frame. Blue Frame, X Astray, VS Astray, Destiny R and B, Out Frame and Raigo Portions).

Almost all of the Astray Series' storylines has more or less involved the role of the organisations that owns the Red and Blue Frame Units (Lowe Gule/Junk Guild and Gai Murakumo/Serpent Tail respectively) play in them. Recently there are new scenarios added for the Astrays in a new Photo-novel in Hobby Magazines.
Are all Gundam sidestories like this? Amazing and unique but no anime only manga? Maybe few have anime but are extremely short cutting down number of episodes and their lengths. My favorites being Crossbone, some of the 00 like 00F and of course Astray. I just wish they'll be animated sometime in the future...

Not much of a compliment when you consider that a pile of rocks would be more pleasant than 80% of SEED's cast.
