Hollis' mom is the Cofounder of Owsla with Skrillex and is one of the most powerful publicists in Los Angeles. She represents everyone from the Weeknd to Migos to Daft Punk. Kid grew up learning how to produce from Skrillex, pretty wild background

Lol not surprised, some of the techniques used that I heard on all works given that they are relatively new did sound like 5-6 years of xp at least. The way distortion is mixed on the vocals (perhaps sidechained to lowend or something as well like a ringmod sidechain). Saw unison pads with insane sounding reverb and also just composing is good
man this tutorial is great, I really like how you explain your thought process. most producers on youtube are like mindless drones when making beats, very hard to learn from those types of videos
btw instead of making numerous automations for the sidechain, u can just make only one automation and link other sounds from different mixer tracks straight to that very automation!
So I'm an Ableton Live user, not sure how this translates, but I noticed that for your sidechain you automated the faders. I used to do that a lot, but realized it was really hard to go back and make mix adjustments after the fact because my faders were locked into automation. Is there a "utility" type plugin in FL? In Live, rather than locking up my faders I'll throw a Utility on and automate the gain on that - that way it keeps the automation intact even if I need to turn the whole instrument up or down. If this makes sense, hope this can be beneficial to your workflow.
Hey not sure exactly what you mean, if your talking about a midi keyboard it might be because it is pressure sensitive so you have ti press it at a certain strength and speed for it to trigger the correct frequencies. If you are recording in with your midi you can adjust the velocities after in the piano roll to get the preset to sound right
@@prodisaaczero I'm into more laid back editing styles, without the fast-pace subtitles and cuts. That's just what I like. If your editing style works for you and your channel, you should keep it! Thanks for sharing your knowledge
