    Of all the gain staging videos I’ve seen on RUclips this is by far one of the clearest and most concise ones I’ve seen. Thanks, Maurice!

    woudl be nice if we coudl disable that 'analog behavior' from eth past and directly mix hot without first normalising to see something and then reduce teh gain again thats just stupid

    This is helpful information. I usually just turn down the volume directly on the plugin, then use the mixer knob to adjust the instrument sound to taste in context with the other sounds in the beat/song. You exposed some new techniques. I'll be watching this video over, until I understand what you were doing with the gain plugin and the peak and loudness. Can you do a mixing tutorial video? Thanks for sharing your expertise. Blessings and peace to you and yours.

    What's the key command to normalize region?

    • @chevaliermusic

      It may differ based on the version of Logic you’re using. Try looking under the edit menu in the main tracks view.

    Great video thanks. How does pre-fader metering fit in to this?

    • @chevaliermusic
      @chevaliermusic  5 месяцев назад

      Pre-fader metering is just a good way to see the level of the signal entering the channel. But it’s also important to check post fader metering to see what is exiting the channel and being sent to downstream processors

    Any tips on gainstaging instrument tracks that have Neural plugins or amp sims?

    • @chevaliermusic
      @chevaliermusic  5 месяцев назад +1

      There would be no difference. -18 full scale average would still be the optimal input level. You can then increase or decrease the input level a bit, to achieve the desired tone.
