It is iga swiatek's fault. She wanted shedule to be more comfortable for jetlags and court changes, so, WTA desided to hold tournament somewhere in america, where the tournaments haven't been. Hello texas

Ons is a true show(o)man. I would love to see her in the final vs Świątek. Two totally opposite game philosophies. Colorful diversity and fun vs close to perfection murderous forehand execution. 😉

I love both Jabeur and Pegula! I honestly thought Pegula would win because of the amazing year she is having, but wow Ons played a great 2nd and 3rd set! I really would like Jabeur or García to win, I think they are the only ones that maybe could beat Swiatek :)

There were some federer castplays by Ons jabeur. She is also elegant.
She said in an interview that she really likes Federer play style
I literally saw trying (not always successfully) being a Federer. Tweener lob, his backhand, that looks like flower opening to the sun, clever dropshots. Also, it wasn't highlited, as peluga missed first serve, but she kinda tried to get serve with hand behind her back...
Her game is just easy and beautiful sometimes.

Well played from Ons. Just want to point out how amazing Pegula has been at net, I think all players should consider playing doubles to develop an all round game.

I think one lesson to Pegula this year might be to drop doubles, having two matches in a day sometimes can be a huge strain on her reserves. Just look how Iga exploded after ditching doubles this year :)

Ons is a top player but I have no confidence in her when she plays. The way she lost that first set was pretty bad. I didn’t think she’d find a way back
Problem with Ons is that she can produce amazing shots but she's clowning too much, like she's playing exo. But nonetheless she's fighter and doesn't give up easily.

Como pegula consegui perder esse jogo Primero set ons estava errando muito pegula só acertando ok 2 set as duas estavam errando mais ons consegui levar o 2 set 3 set ons acertando pegula errando todos nós sabemos que ons e muito nervosa msm assim nao se deixou abalar já a nossa calma jess conseguiu perder esse jogo agora será muito difícil de jess se classificar frustante estava torcendo para ela.

Ons Jabeur's first win in WTA Finals. Great job. Too bad, that JPEG won't advance to WTA Finals Semi-Finals. Ons Jabeur made impressive comeback win. This just shows how mentally strong Ons Jabeur is.
There is still a small chance for Pegula to advance, but it's not all up to her. She HAS to win 2-0, and then Sakkari cannot drop a set. If Pegula wins and Sakkari drops even a single set, it's Jabeur in the semis. There is a precedent for that and it's... Radwańska in 2015, who dropped first match 1-2, then second 0-2, then won the third one 2-0 and advanced- then took the title. So it's not over till RR group is over.

@@amele3367 well then you just have to root for her bc if Ons wins, she goes to semis, she could even still win her group if she wins 2-0. The only bad scenario for her is if she wins 2-1 and Aryna gets 2-0, then Sabalenka goes to semis. Of course if Pegula wins her match 2-1, then Ons might as well sleep through her own 😜

Jabeur needs to work on her serve and forehand if she wants to win major tiles.
Her forehand is pretty good already, it will be tough to improve. Her serve has more potential for improvement.
Good night l made that suggestion earlier this year with a good serve Ons will be performing a lot better.

the stadium is literally empty, it didn't help that an American was playing, total disaster, please move the tournament for the next 5-8 years to Europe (Italy would be the best, or Spain)

World number 2 against world number 3 in one of the biggest tournaments of the year and it's basically empty. This tells you something... you are holding tournaments in places where people don't care about tennis, your marketing is crap so people don't know it is happening, or your tickets are far far too expensive. Or possibly all three of these. It is embarrassing to see tennis in this state. If this happen go and hand out tickets for free in local high schools, anything. Just get people in there.

Pegula, you didn't play as confidently as you used to previous matches. You made too many unforced errors and your service is too slow probably because you are afraid of being defeated.

Terrible quality match because your fav play lost the game.... ons gave you a great show in the 2 and 3rd set but the problem is there's no crowd.... Texas is not the right place to play tennis
