From the all 3 Grand slams, that was maybe the most special one for Iga Swiatek. And while in both Roland Garros (2020 and 2022) she was in great form, in US Open she wasn't in that great form. Many people excepted from her to flop in US Open, because of her weak results in the previous north american tournaments (Toronto and Cincinnati). And for real, in her way to the title she got many obstacles (losing first sets from Niemeier and Sabalenka and losing with 1:4 but winning with 6:4 in the second set against Davis). But as i said before, the thing which kept her in the game, was her determination and champion instinct. The fact she won a GS, even without being in her greatest form, shows how big class is Iga Swiatek. And if she is capable to win GS with mediocre form, imagine on what she would be capable when she comes to her prime. Immensely proud of being Iga fan. A new era of women tennis is coming! JAZDA!

Winning a major without playing at your best level is exceptional. Everyone knows Swiatek in this tournament played nothing close to the form she carried during start of year but she somehow managed to beat her opponents which include three top 10 wins. This girl is far ahead of other wta tour as she has mentality to win against odds. This is something serena does winning tournaments without displaying her A tennis. Swiatek is most promising number 1 and has capability to win 10+ majors

Very impressive win by Iga Swiatek. One might say that Ons made too many errors in critical moments of the match, but none of those were really unforced errors as Swiatek´s game forced Jabeur to play at very high risk. The way Iga covers the court, turning defense into offense in a second, and her smart shot selection reminds me a bit of the young Roger Federer. Experts congratulate, admire until the next tournament and the situation repeats itself. It is the same with ordinary fans. Hardly anyone really believes in the extraordinary talent of Iga Swiatek. If Raducanu did something like that, it would become immortal for these experts and ordinary fans.

Well-deserved title from iga Swiatek, it was definitely an extraordinary tennis tournament for Iga, she went down on the history by becoming the first Polish tennis competitor who gained U.S. Open Tournament. From the beginning till the end, Iga has entirely demonstrated a resolute and perseverant performance against her adversaries. Even though she faltered in one or two appearances, there was no hesitation in my mind. My senses are forceful, it didn't get wrong. Again and again professional tennis gets more and more dominated by elite footwork. Everybody is commenting, Iga is special due to winning without playing on her highest level. That might be true, but it's not only her mental strength, it's mainly her footwork (just listen to the sound of her shoes when sliding on the court). Her agility is unique in female tennis and should be the role model for juniors and young players to get somewhere close to that.
Djokovic, Nadal and Alcaraz wouldn't be anywhere close their level without their elite footwork. Iga has that feature as well. If she can maintain her footwork and add a stronger serve and taking the ball more on the rise, she might get close to the alltime records of Serena, Steffi, Martina and Margret.

What a statement tournament for Iga - if she can win a GS with her B game, then she'll be a favourite of all incoming Grand Slams next year (maybe except Wimbledon).
Apart from serves her game is perfect, her defensive skills are amazing and mental toughness above all the rest of WTA.
Sabalenka and Ons had a great tournament, still not enough, they break mentally in the most important moments and you can't be a champion without that strength, I'd say it's more important than pure tennis skills, because they don't matter if you can't cope with the stress of big moments. It's the same with Sakkari, Kontaveit or Badosa, they simply don't have champion's mentality, the killer's instinct.
And Iga plays her best in those moments, her Finals record is unbelievable, and she's still 21, she has more GS titles than Halep, Muguruza, Azarenka or Kvitova. One more title and she'll get ahead of Barty. She deserves tons of respect.

There are 2 particular things that are very scary about Iga winning this tournament:
    1. She wasn't at her best throughout
    2. She's still improving her game.
Against Sabalenka in the 2nd set, Iga made 17 out of 18 1st serves and at one time in the match, hit 12 1st serves in a row. And in her match against Ons here she had a 85% to 90% 1st serve percentage. The serve is one of Iga's weaknesses and yet she pulled that off....in a MAJOR SEMI FINAL AND FINAL! She's only 21 and she now has 3 major titles. If she keeps progressing like this and improving her game along the way, she'll be one of the all time greats.
