Just discovered your channel last week and so glad I did. You’ve helped me take a much more pragmatic approach to my game and I’m getting a lot more comfortable rolling with the punches. Even if my scores haven’t seen the effect yet my mental game is so much better.
Hey Adam, great video as always. I do have to disagree with you on the idea of consistency. I don't think golfers mean that they always need to shoot within a narrower window. Hell, tour pros will have a big window too, anywhere between 63 on their best days, and high 70s on their worst days. I think consistency more or less means that we have more of a bell curve instead of a flatter distribution over our scores (where most amateurs are likely). So instead of a distribution of scores being 76, 78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90... they want something closer to 76, 80, 82, 83, 83, 84, 86, 90. They'll still have those good and bad days, but their averages days will actually be closer to an average. Keep up the good work, hmu if you're ever in Houston!
Would love to walk off 18 with an 80 after my ugly rounds. More likely to be 90+ due to penalties. Great attitude from start to finish and even when you tried to hit it in the water, you didn't succeed. Hope to catch you next time in the Bay Area.
Another great video Adam. I'd love to see you play at Silver Rock. I'm pretty sure it's in your area. I've played there twice and loved it both times. Keep it up, love the content!
Good stuff love the honesty. Great insights and it looks like you are not trying to boost your ego or prove that you are some sort of amateur turning pro because you have a youtube channel. Been watching a lot of golf on RUclips and for me it is easy to spot the fakes and appreciate the genuine golf. Keep up the content!
Nice video Adam! I guess our definition of good shots change with our handicaps. For me, a good shot is any shot I can find afterwards, avoiding stroke and distance penalty. So all your shots are good shots in my book!
I look at you and our ball striking is about the same. And yet I'm more of a 12-15 handicap. Your short game is very good - that's the difference. I made a triple on the first hole the other day after leaving it in the bunker TWICE! And my putting is poor even though I work on it. Anyway, at least I know I can get into single digits if my short game improves. Love the content.
Thanks man. And yeah, most of my game is comparable to a 10-15 hc but my putting is closer to scratch. Give me the putting of a 15hc and my own hc probably goes to ~15, too :p
Thanks for the video learning alot from you vid, I'm not a scracth golfer but you're right sometimes you will shoot your lowest then the next you play will shoot more than ten on your normal score. But golf is fun. by the way what app you use to edit your video to display the pars/strokes/hole number, is it a different program you use to put the pin flag on your video. I record most of my games but have not tried posting them in video, still trying to put the videos together and also filming while playing is very difficult unless yoou have a designated camera man.
Is there any explainer video on what exactly constitutes a green light vs red light drive and so on? Is it to do with how well you hit the drive, or how well you set up the next shot?
80 from the blues at Kings is pretty great, Adam. So many ways for that course to frustrate you - My best rounds there have always felt like an absolute war during the round.

Adam, was it King's Links that previously told you that you couldn't film, or was that another course? Either way, very practical lessons that I've been working to apply to my own game. Thank you
you should do a video on how iron yardages don't matter as much as accuracy. It's impressive that you still have a 7.3 handicap despite hitting 9 iron from 110
At some point that lenght is going to stop him from going lower. There is only so much short game can do for your handicap, before you have to look at getting a bit more distance via a better golf swing
Hey David. I have no background in photography/videography and have more or less been winging it. I use "Shot Tracer Pro" for shot tracing and they have a video tutorial of how to best set up the camera for shot tracing. I'd recommend checking that out.
@@NotAScratchGolfer thanks for the feedback! Do you usually let a course know that you are going to be filming or does it not really impede your pace of play enough to the point where you don’t think it’s necessary to tell them?

I'm a new subscriber. I really enjoy your outstanding video footage (I would like to get a laser tracker camera!) and thoughtful, reflective narrative of your game and strategy. I can't imagine all the work that goes in to producing such polished videos, which really reward the viewer. In viewing your swing, I am struck by how well you rotate around the ball, giving yourself a huge slot into which to drop the club on the downswing. You're doing yourself quite a favor with that rotation, and it's something I'm trying to emulate. Already, it is paying off. I am hitting the ball about 10-15 yards longer with just a bit more deliberate and well-rooted rotation! In listening to your narrative, I am reminded of the mental ups-and-downs of my own rounds. I'm a speedgolfer and play most of my 18 hole rounds in between 50-60 minutes. I go through many of the same mental gymnastics, but your slower pace has given me the opportunity to reflect more on my mental game. You are doing the community a great service with your channel. I have been terribly inconsistent in my play the last 5 rounds but my scores have been remarkably consistent (I am ashamed to say between 102-106).
