AEW has a real problem making fluid stories that mean something. All the title changes and crossover matches and special announcements are pointless if you don't make them mean something.
He just signs people and puts no build to them. And surround himself with people who are real to him and ofc hire a real booker. But sadly TK won't do it as he is held bend on being the owner and booker of a wrestling promotion with different other designations.
Am I hearing this right that Bischoff and Disco are talking cordially here after Bischoff talked shit about firing him a few weeks ago? It's cool to hear, just making sure I got that right.
I suspect that Tony’s main problem is he is stretched too thin. AEW needs to be his sole focus if he is going to be this involved in the day to day operations
Tony doesn't understand how to book wrestling but he would never admit that even to himself so he will continue to believe that he is doing everything great but there's something wrong with the fans for not liking it.
Death matches are not to everyone’s taste and I think we can all get that, but they aren’t in themselves the problem. I will say I hate how AEW books them. Pentagon Jr vs Vampiro in LU is how you book it. Made sense for both the characters in the ring. Made sense in the story. Made sense that it would be brutal. Made sense in that promotion at that time. Did exactly what it set out to do, get Pentagon Jr, Vampiro and the promotion over, all in different ways. You don’t - for example - advertise you are having an exploding barbed wire deathmatch. That is already trash-tier booking.

Tony is running AEW the same way Vince ran WWE in the 2010s. Into the ground. Pushes starting then stopping out of nowhere. People getting over organically then made to change what they were doing. Wrestlers not being on tv for weeks or months. Too much blood on tv so means very little now. Refs letting wrestlers fight on the outside of the ring in every match and rarely doing a 10 count. Many instances of acts/things that should be used sparingly to keep their impact high are so common now they don't get the crowds to react anymore. Roster is too big does he even use half of it in a 1-3 month period
Dave always tries to prove he isn't bias in favor of AEW by saying "Everyone on the Observer message boards think I'm too hard on AEW." Well yeah, Dave. The only people buying your newsletter are AEW fans lol
AEW hasn't changed at all since day 1. This isn't a hot take but if you go compare the first Dynamite and you all all the mistake that were made (which is understandable because it was the first ever show) they're still making the exact same ones now. Normal people learn from mistakes.
I don't think Tony is beyond help, but he has to get rid of the Young Bucks. Their influence on the current product is blatantly obvious. Nearly all of the top spots are occupied by their friends, and most of the crap that is being done on AEW tv right now is the same kind of crap they did in PWG and New Japan. If Tony gets rid of the Bucks and starts listening to some of the professionals he has working for him, there is a chance.
This may be dramatic but I think I actually hate Tony Khan. Plus now all these stories are coming out that he's such a mark for himself that he shut down the EVP storyline because he didn't want anyone thinking that he wasn't running the show for AEW.
Aew as of late is damaging to the overall industry in my opinion. By having all the matches full throttle " bangers" and poor storytelling it makes pro wrestling look like nonsensical garbage.

I hate AEW as much as anyone else, but WWE also suffers from a lack of competition. They may be miles ahead of AEW, but that doesnt mean they can rest on their laurels.
But records don't make sense in pro wrestling. If you do a triple threat match there's only 1 winner. So the winner of that match went 1-0 in the match 2 people went 0-1.
