I played this for my mother on her deathbed in hospice this last August. I sang right along her side and it helped with the healing process of copping in her passing. So well done.
I literally cried when I heard this song the first time on my Colter wall Pandora station.... I knew I immidiatley had to buy the cd Providence... I cannot describe the connection I felt with a majority of the songs.. especially this song and hey mister. Thank y'all *Poor mans poison* for fully reviving my faith in music....and rekindling a connection. With all the crap on the radio I thought I'd never connect and "feel" music again... I can "feel"y'all's music on a whole other level... Thank you... Thank you a thousand times.
Karla Graham I just found this band a few weeks ago through Pandora myself. I've fallen madly in love with this band since hearing C'mon Down, Hey Mister, and Providence. I hope they keep writing, they're simply amazing.
Hopefully they get back together. I found these guys and Brown Bird about 5 years too late. Unfortunately, the lead guy in Brown Bird passed away so no chance of seeing them.
This song is what introduced me to poormans poison and I haven't listened to much of anything else the last few months 10 hrs a day at work. Hope yall are still together and making music, your talent for using real emotion isn't a popular thing anymore and I enjoy it.
I am a poor, wayfaring stranger I'm traveling through this world of woe Yet there's no sickness, no toil, no danger In that bright world to which I go I'm going there to see my father I'm going there, no more to roam I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home I know dark clouds gather 'round me I know my way is rough and steep Yet golden fields lie just before me Where souls redeemed shall ever sleep I'm going there to see my father I'm going there, no more to roam I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home I want to wear a crown of glory When I get home to that good land I want to shout down Satan's story In concert with the blood-washed band I'm going there to see my father He said he'd meet me when I come home I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home I'm going there to see my father He said he'd meet me when I come home I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home I'm only going over home
His voice literally walks down the road of my best and worst times. My days would not be the same without this band. Everything Poor Mans Poison puts out gets me through the hard times of divorce, death, abandonment, and betrayal. And through the highs of my successes, perseverance, and everything I work towards. And they'll never know it. Thank You "Poor Mans Poison." And Ryan.....you are an amazing storyteller. Every one of your songs is filled with emotion, and you can hear that every word is spoken from your own personal experiences. Which is a road I am walking now..... Fathers Day....Fathers Lament.....Black Sheep. Redemption.....these are all my life right now.
I'm going on vacation soon camping in the mountains and I downloaded every one of their songs to listen to while I'm there. I only discovered these guys a couple months ago and they might be my new favorite musicians. I love every single one of their songs and can't stop listening to them
Ive listened to this a hundred times on my vinyl but I had to revisit this video to finally see how impressive the guitar work actually is in this. Very subtle but very impressive. This song has grown to possibly be my favorite of theirs. Love how that happens :)
I thought BTS and the other sh!tters ruined music and that TikTok just helped that. My buddy sent me a video from TikTok with Hell's coming with me under it. I listen to you guys every morning and every evening. What beauty your songs are. They are more than music. You feel these words. They impact you.
I am simply crazy about your voice!! a big pleasure!! an atypical recognizable and very pleasant tone!! I love your groove, I never get tired of listening to your tracks in loops ! Thank you for these moments of auditory pleasure and that they are numerous still in the future! BRAVO 🤩
Heard y'all on Pandora and immediately went to your site to buy the vinyl! I sing along to this entire album in my semi about 20 times a win lol. My favorite album so amazing!
Please go on tour! I need to see you in concert before the day comes that I am no longer. I wish I could get more of your music because the last thing I have heard come out was "Feed the Machine" and it's sooooo.. perfect..
can you do more of these please? the timbre in your voice just echoes in my heart. Its very moving. the problem with electronic music today is they sort of clean things up. but the voice is like a fingerprint so very unique to you. and yours is special. i love PMP (don't get me wrong) but I also love this solo. thank you for sharing this.
In no way is this meant to be offensive but if you changed up your style (looks) I think you could make it you sing really cool though I like that style
Aight, I'm sorry man, although this is a good music I love the beat and all. But it's the lyric and the way he sing it bring out suicidal thoughts. Really the voice of a defeatist. I love the other song, but this one is a hard no for me. I'll send it to you who lost all hopes and look for nothing else but a sweet end.
I was like, “hey, this guy’s voice sounds just like the singer from Poor Man’s Poison. Oh, wait it is him.”
🎵Everybody tells me that I sound like CG5, probably because I am CG5🎵

Might have been "providence" actually.

This is the greatest cover ever! Why the fuck is he not famous!
I mean he does have a 100,000 check in the room
To be "famous" is to compromise.
Unfortunately he isn’t famous because society prefers Gucci Gucci Gucci Gucci Gucci 🤣🤦
I'd argue Betsy Lee's version was the best.
@CaptainScout100%
I love your voice, Ryan. It's very reminiscent of Layne Staley. You are so soulful and nostalgic. Thank you for sharing your gift, sir.

Not even close to Layne.

Just beautiful. Can't stop listening.
Speakers should be lucky enough to send your voice into the world. It’s what dreams are made of... ❤️
Love it. This is by far the best cover of this song. Period. That popcorn ceiling, though...ugh.
dude.... its him... its not a cover... its his song.
Bro, he may have made it his with this performance in but the song's been dated to the late 1700's.
The ceiling could be an acoustic isolation
