I would say "Can we just enjoy the music", but I've got to put sense to these ignorant comments. The Goo Goo dolls took music from One Republic? Not only is that stupid but I can tell the people who commented are not musicians. If the Goo Goo dolls took One Republic "Good Life", then you might as well say Adele took one Repulic "Secrets"
Being a muscians deals with chord variation, what you guys assume "stealing" is, only means that he's "Rebel Beat" and "Good Life " are in the same scale, the same key.
You can't play a D on the piano and an F or C at the same time and expect it to sound pretty. You can play a D and an F# and it sounds really good.
A lost of artist use the same scale, same key because that's what sounds good. So now, they didnt' copy, they are both wonderful bands/muscians that know music better than some idiodic people in the comment section.
In addition, the Goo Goo Dolls are legit, they're an original band . They're to good to go copy off of some other band.

I think this is a refreshing new style for GGD and i enjoy both sides of their music. Just because its pop-ish doesnt mean you should hate on it.

You can say what you want about "Rebel Beat" I felt it was manufactured also to engage with a younger demographic. However, ITS WORKING! And I doubt Goo Goo Dolls would sell out. If you still think they are sell outs listen to "Come To Me" I knew that was GGD even before I could confirm. Their sound is ageless and will be forever. BIGUPS! To the GGDolls

As a person who is around the same age as these guys, I have evolved over the past 20 years of being their fan, and would probably not still be a fan had they not evolved, too. This song is perfect, and I love and am honored to be a fan of theirs. I hope they keep rocking until their last breath as very old men.

I've been a fan forever but Rebel Beat is my all time favorite. Loved when they did it with the flash mob in the buff. Love Buffalo 🐃 and hate the way ppl criticize such a beautiful city. The architecture is unparalleled and the water front aka Canalside is fun and gorgeous. We love our sports teams. Screw all you critics. Don't like it? Leave.

This band still produces real music
I am a GGD fan, I came here to enjoy music, and I have noticed comenters about this sounding like another song by OneRepublic, sooooo I am sort of slightly going to defend them XD, but I am also a fan of OneRepublic, and you're right, I can hear the same chords. HOWever, they are not the first band/singer/music producer to do this, Vanilla ice with his "ice ice baby" uses the chords from "pressure" by Queen. The first bit where Train starts singing in "50 ways to die" is from Phantom of the Opera, and I'm sure there are millions of other musical groups who have done something like this. The reason they get away with this is because to the majority of the masses, the song the group "steals" from is old, and therefore not at the front of their minds when they go to listen to a "new" song, the groups hardcore fans are really the only ones to notice until they point it out to the masses. It's not the first or the last time this will be done, also, why not try coming out with a new sound yourself whilst there are millions of sounds out there, you're bound to have someone who sounds like you anyways.
