Our artists are working with time - interview with Stéven Riff Gallery East

Stéven Riff came back to France after 10 years of experience in other countries. He started Galerie East in Strasbourg, because in that way he can be in the heart of Europe. The gallery shows a wide variety of works, some of them are based on an idea and in other cases the technic of creation is very important. Stéven explains that he love the artists who are not live in our time but in artist time which could be very different from a normal time. According to Stéven artists are working with time when creating an artwork.
We talked about Strassbourg where the gallery is working. Its a smaller city comparing to the big megapolises, but its very international and you can live the variety of Europe there. The river Rhine connects with the surronding countries.
I also asked the question how to approach a gallery if Im an artist. Stéven suggest that first look at the artists works what is in the gallery, and try to imagine your works in that surrounding. If your work doesnt match at all the style of others, most probably you are not fit into the style. Galleries are very happy when they see that the artist knows whats showed already.
