One of the most stunning exhibitions I've seen, only regret is I wish I could see it in person. Anselm is as monumental as his works. This walk through with music is one of the best filmed on RUclips, thanks for sharing.

I suspect, sadly, that most, if not all of these beautiful and monumental works are bought merely as investments and are locked up in storage facilities never to be seen again. I don't even now how you would go about painting something so massive. Pure genius. This is beautifully filmed. Thanks for all the detail close ups, it really gives you a feeling of the in person experience.

The scale of the work allows an abstract and a representational experience to occur simultaneously. Surreal and very real. Opposites coexist. Contradictions coexist. Such a powerful portrayal of life. And death. Don't hide these paintings.

My understanding is that Exodus is Keifer's narration in colors & textures of the Exodus of the Bible, with references to some other exoduses in the history of the Hebrew people, like the Inquisition or the Nazi's camps. I think he put himself in the skin of one the oppressed Hebrews, building pyramids for Faroah. I am sorry I can not travel to NYC, but I summarize this exhibit as painting with emotions. I know he bought a large property in the South of France, in Provence, where he built some towers, like the Babel Towers. I imagine he will not sell them. I wish him a long life, to be able to narrate many more biblical stories, having as a collective character the chosen people, the Hebrews. I hope I do not have too many spelling mistakes, for I've written this commentary for spite!

I've always wondered how artists finance exhibitions in countries outside of where they live. Especially this type of exhibition, with enormous pieces. You need to fabricate gigantic crates, hire special transportation from the studio to the ship, they have to be stored in the belly of the ship, I suppose, because they won't fit in a regular container, the insurance, the custom fees, etc. It looks to me that we're talking here of millions of dollars. I'm just curious.

A post apocalyptic building standing in an abandoned looking world. Grey and black tones of grief and sadness. Huge with lots and lots of impasto layers. And no living room that could accommodate it. Dare I suspect that these works are done for the market and investment purposes. Why else endure the tedium of scribing endless lines in thick paint?

If we're lucky, at least some of these paintings will end up in museums or loaned to museums, where we can see them. I love his work and love visiting the collection of his work that's on display at a museum near me. The size (and price!) mean I will never have one of these paintings in my living room, but if those issues did not prevent me from doing so, I'd be quite happy to look at one of these images every day. Not everyone likes only happy images.

I can see the ''reichsluftffahrministerium'' from ernst sagebiel in berlin here in the opening sequence. Very sad period of time for the world. It was later used by the GDR goverment. It seemes very architectural inspired and a walkthrough from neo classizism, architecture parlante/luis kahn and abandoned forced labor factories that where used during the second world war. One painting looks like it shows the inside from a hangar of ''tempelhofer feld'' flughafen in berlin wich was used as a refugee camp (notunterkunft) for escaped GDR citizens and for the ''rosinenbombers'' that delivered goods via the ''berliner luftbruecke'' to west germany. The hangar was later used again for the same purpose as a shelter for syrian refugees. I wish i could have been in your gallery to see it in real with my own eyes. Thank you for this video. I allowed myself to share some things that i could see here.
