Thanks as always! Just wanted to say that I prefer interior details. I find them a challenge and watching videos of someone doing it well is great inspiration. I’d like to offer a tip from the Gyeon guy, he really doesn’t like brushes near paintwork and swears by cloths instead. I’ve switched to this and it is really great. A plush Microfibre cloth is awesome around the windows etc - give it a go! I only mention this as you have a very careful manner.
Brilliant job Heather - the interior element was great too, really good to see the work on a 'normal' car where many interior detailing videos tend to be on barn finds or extreme cases. I'm inspired to get a steamer now!
What an excellent channel! Really calm and informative, such a refreshing change from all the hyperbolic, macho noise which usually dominates the detailing videos on here. Great stuff.👍
Anorher first rate result Heather 👏. The sporty UP looks tremendous......do keep the interior cleans on your channel, its a nice touch, even if its only for a minute or two of final footage...... I for one really appreciate the inside & exterior videos👌. Have a good week ahead Heather!
Thanks very much! I have to admit I’m finding interiors a little nicer now I’ve invested in some more equipment so I think I’ll show it a bit more on the channel. Enjoy your week too! 😊
@AutoCareHQ Thanks for the reply, Heather......the interior cleans will I think add to your channels content. The red UP fondly reminds me of my late grans last car, a 63 plate red auto UP 🚗......I think approx.£10,000 new back then. We kept the car as a run around and sold it as a 10 year old car, 2 months ago, full history, 32000 miles, and we received 6000 for Uma the UP 🙂 That was one very slow depreciating car! Amazing!
They really do hold their value well. Think the owner of this one has actually made about 1k on it since they bought it a few years ago with the prices of used cars surging. Not bad considering they've added about 10k miles onto it
@AutoCareHQ VW Ups are an exceptional, slow depreciating car Heather, I and the owner of the car you detailed can testify to this 🙂. BTW......Great recommendation thanks on the GT shampoo, I have been very impressed, so thank you 🙂
What sort of detailing brush are you using for the exterior? Is there a separate one from the grille to the windows? Watching this as I'm just getting into cleaning my own VW Up love your videos so far 😊
With the blo air dryer you may want to change the hose connection at the machine point, particularly as it gets colder if you use the warm setting regularly and at higher outputs the hose comes away from the collar leaving the metal end and hose coming at you and the car, it has no retainer like the other end. I have modified mine using the output hose end to attach to the machine with the retainer to prevent it happening again. Mine went through 3 hoses because of this issue...
You must have emigrated as I can see the sun in the last couple of videos... all jokes aside great job on the car and production.. looks like the sun is showing its face this afternoon so time to apply some glass sealant to the R. 👍
Some products that caught my eye there, Heather. The Yum wheel products look excellent and cost-effective. I also like the look of the Karcher steam cleaner for those slightly grubby upholstered seats. For anyone reading this, a blower is one of the best things I’ve acquired to quickly dry the outside and those tricky areas where water marks can deposit - around lights and insignia badges etc. I use a blower designed to dry motorcycles which is excellent. They are also quite rewarding to use. Excellent post again, Heather.
Once again a fab video.Thank you for producing such well put together videos with excellent filming and editing, the detailing here of this car once again is of the highest order. Your detailing videos are the best.
What a fantastic transformation, looks brand new, thanks for the tip on leather seats/steering wheel from your last video ( I do'nt suppose you remember)many thanks. Keep up the excelent content. 😃❤
Hi, American here. It's always interesting to see the different products that you guys get to use compared to what we have here in the States. I really would like to try that Mile Deep snow foam. I am curious what the pH is. I live in a more agricultural/rural area and I know after planting and harvest seasons the extra bite that the alkaline sided snow foams and shampoos offer makes the wash all the better and easier.
Thank you! Yep the IK sprayer has been used on every wash this year, even if it's just to pre-wash the wheels so I've certainly got my money's worth out of it
Great job Heather. Been a while since I've tuned in due to being busy with my own projects. The Valetpro shampoo looks the real deal, it's a pricey product but not one which needs to be used every wash so I will grab some of that I think. 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching! You've been putting out great content, really enjoy your reviews and tests. The VP Ceramic Shampoo has impressed me so far. It's ideal for maintaining protection especially as we're going into winter but I was surprised it left some really nice water behaviour behind on its own here!
Very, very nice work. I would watch both types of videos. Interior and exterior. I don't like interior work, so if I can pick up tips to make a job easier, im all for it. One issue I'm having is unclugging dirt from ceramic coated vehicles. Little frustrating. Thank you Heather.
Thanks Kim! Have you tried using an alkaline or acidic shampoo? I've found that something like Garage Therapy Decon Shampoo is great for ceramic coated cars which get battered with traffic/ film dirt frequently. Acidic shampoos like CarPro Descale are great if the coating is clogged with mineral deposits too
I've honestly never tried it but I know some people use a mix of rubbing alcohol/ water to clean granite so possibly as I think Gyeon Prep is probably quite a similar formulation with some extras thrown in
Nice video. Couple of products I'd like to try from that collection, the Carpro tyre cleaner and the Shiny Garage Citrus Oil. Maybe next year 😊. All the best. 👍
Thanks very much for watching! I'd honestly love to upload some more videos but it's just tough to find the time as they take quite a while to film/ edit. Maybe next year I'll try and up the frequency to 3 videos per month :)
They did message me last month actually about sending Hard Coat to try out but I am just struggling a bit for time atm so will get back in touch when things have settled down a bit :)
Hi Heather I hope you are well so very good video and very impressed with citrus oil and retyre result, you have to try Carpro Darkside tire dressing is very good product too, Best from 🇨🇦🙏.
Hi Heather, The VW Up looked brilliant after your full detail, great work. Checked out the Rimmats and was shocked at the price (£53.99), will give them a miss at that price, will keep rolling my car to dress the tyres. Best wishes
Thanks very much Steve! They aren't cheap but I can see why they would cost a fair bit to make, completely get they're not for everyone but maybe worth keeping an eye out if they ever do any sales
Awesome! Great finish! I recently tried the new Infinity Wax SiO2 shampoo and found the same, really slick and left a great glossy finish, but was surprised by the lack of suds. So it's interesting to see that it's common with these kinds of products.
Thank you! Yeah it's an issue with most of them I think! It makes it a bit less enjoyable to use but as long as it's nice and slick it's not a huge issue for me
You must live in a bubble Heather, it's never grey or raining when you make video's unlike where I live. Great video, have you thought of getting the car higher to clean the arches/suspension more.
Haha I wish, it's been very bad weather here recently! I filmed this in September so fortunately it was still quite nice weather. To be honest I prefer to just take the wheels off if I'm going to that level on the arches, this car could do with it really, quite a bit of tar build-up in the rear aches in particular
love the content its so satisfying to watch , im going to give my golf a deep exterior clean and was wondering if you could give me some adivce ! my paintwork is quite smooth with the odd sandpaper texture here and there with light swerls i was going to intially use a clay bar but i am hesitant as i dont want to cause more light scratches ! what would you do in this situation , TIA
I do like detailing a red car and I guess I am lucky my Honda and one of my sons has a Red Fiesta so I am well catered for. That one looked particularly grubby but came up really well at the end. A steam cleaner is something I have never used on my car on the interior but I guess its a good idea and certainly worked on that car. My wife never uses her pull along one as she bought a dedicated floor steam mop so I guess I could use it but I think that will be saved for a Spring interior deep clean. You used some interesting chemicals there to good effect. I have seen those rim mats as used by Paul Dolden but they are a bit steep in my opinion when I could use my trolley jack as per Sparklean Autos top tip. I got a tip from Graeme at GM Details who cleans his barrels top to bottom and noticed you use that method also. It is not something I have ever thought about but does make sense. No sense in rubbing in contaminants that may fall from the top when you do the base of the barrels. That is something I will be doing going forward. I look forward to the next one.
Thanks very much for watching John! I’ve only just got this steam cleaner but it’s been very useful. I think I’d have really struggled on those hand sanitiser spills without it!
Brilliant video as always Heather. Are you going to do a 2023 round up video like you have done previously? Also if you were to just make a shelf on the garage wall all one brand, which would it be?
Thanks very much! I’ve not actually planned one of those this year but I’ve got a few planned for 2024 for different chemicals, equipment etc. I’m gonna make one in January just on my favourite winter detailing products so that’ll be the first one 😊 Hmm good question! It’s a really tough choice but I’d probably say Garage Therapy
Can't wait thank you. @@AutoCareHQ GT have you to thank for a big order coming their way then! I had narrowed it down to GT, Gtechniq or Car Pro. I have a lot of BH stuff left to.
Hi Heather as always great work, just like to get your thoughts on weather you should apply a citrus pre wash to the roof of a car especially in the winter months thanks
Thanks Nigel 😊 in most cases I don’t apply citrus to the roof, just the areas that get more battered with traffic film. There’s no harm in it though if you noticed the roof looking quite dirty
A fantastic turn around Heather. I like putting stripes in mats / carpets as its just a finishing touch. I’m in the market for some detailing brushes for cleaning - can you recommend a set?
Thanks Darren! Are you looking for some soft or firmer bristle brushes? I really like the Detail Factory ones for jobs where you need something very delicate. For a bit more scrubbing power I often go with just a standard unbranded hog's hair brush which works well on rubber seals, interior plastics etc
I'd go for these two: - Soft brush for badges etc: www.in2detailing.co.uk/products/detail-factory-grey-ultra-soft-detailing-brush?ghref=3377%3A53788 - Stiff brush for window sills etc: www.in2detailing.co.uk/collections/interior-exterior-detailing-brushes/products/set-of-2-boar-hair-detailing-brushes?ghref=3377%3A53788 If you shop around on In2Detailing you will probs find some kit options with similar brushes for a bit cheaper
Thanks! Yep it continuously steams, you can just pour more water in without having to switch it off and let it cool like with the SC2. I’m working on a review of it but it probs won’t be up until mid-late December. I’m very happy with it though so far
Great job Heather. Can you tell me what steam cleaner you used for the mats ? My daughter’s Mazda 2 requires a mega clean, seats as well. The mats you did there looked great once they were steamed. I’d like to invest in one.
Great vid, steamer actually made light work of the sanitizer. I've been using Bilt hamber Touch-on to protect between washes. How are you finding the valet pro citrus bling? Do you think its worth giving it a go over the touch-on?
Thank you! Do you mean Valet Pro Ceramic Shampoo instead of Citrus Bling? It’s a really good option, probs works out a similar price to BH Touch-On and from what I remember of using that product previously I’d say the VP Ceramic Shampoo was slightly slicker and left better water behaviour behind
@AutoCareHQ yes sorry, I meant the shampoo. The biggest problem I have with touch on is only being able to apply every 4 weeks. Can you apply the valet pro shampoo every week?
To be honest I reckon it's probably similar in that respect to Touch-On, however I don't think there'd be really any issue applying either of them more frequently really
woww omg. seriously that's just toooo clean. i so wish you could do my up! as well. sadly it currently has water ingress :( resulting in some light mould on the seats... such a disappointing problem to have on an otherwise great little car!
Thanks for watching! If you manage to get the water ingress sorted then using a steam cleaner or even just an anti microbial interior cleaner should help deal with the mould permanently
Another great vid. I've just had a look at your website. I like all the details and links to the various cleaning products etc. Is there any reason you don't use a stiff bristle brush attachment for the hoover on the carpets? I always find they do a really good job of agitating the dirt out of the carpet. *Edit* Ahh just seen the last bit of you using it on the matts.
With regards to the carpet attachment I usually find I lose a little bit of power when using the brush with it being a wider attachment. Sometimes I'll use it though, but often I'll just use the crevice attachment and then give it a brush and repeat if needed
Thanks as always! Just wanted to say that I prefer interior details. I find them a challenge and watching videos of someone doing it well is great inspiration. - Stiff brush for window sills etc: www.in2detailing.co.uk/collections/interior-exterior-detailing-brushes/products/set-of-2-boar-hair-detailing-brushes?ghref=3377%3A53788
If you shop around on In2Detailing you will probs find some kit options with similar brushes for a bit cheaper
@@AutoCareHQ ahh thank you so much for looking into this for me. 👍
Good job 👍🏽
Cheers!
You've done a grand job here, the sc3 steam cleaner does it continously steam the pressure or do have to waiting between the water heating up again.
Thanks! Yep it continuously steams, you can just pour more water in without having to switch it off and let it cool like with the SC2. I’m working on a review of it but it probs won’t be up until mid-late December. I’m very happy with it though so far
Love your vids girl! Keep it up!
Thank you for watching!
Great job Heather. Can you tell me what steam cleaner you used for the mats ? My daughter’s Mazda 2 requires a mega clean, seats as well. The mats you did there looked great once they were steamed. I’d like to invest in one.
Thanks David :) It's a Karcher SC3, I've popped a link to it in the description
@@AutoCareHQ Cheers Heather, can’t believe I’ve been reviewing a few of those this last week and you’re using one. Thanks again 🙏👍
Great stuff 😊
Thank you!
woww omg. seriously that's just toooo clean. i so wish you could do my up! as well. sadly it currently has water ingress :( resulting in some light mould on the seats... such a disappointing problem to have on an otherwise great little car!
Thanks for watching!
If you manage to get the water ingress sorted then using a steam cleaner or even just an anti microbial interior cleaner should help deal with the mould permanently
Hello Ladies ❤🌹 Super Video 😊👍
Thanks!
Thank you! And thanks for checking out the website!
With regards to the carpet attachment I usually find I lose a little bit of power when using the brush with it being a wider attachment. Sometimes I'll use it though, but often I'll just use the crevice attachment and then give it a brush and repeat if needed
Makes sense. 😀 @@AutoCareHQ
Hello love to watch all your car wash video❤
Thank you!
That looks amazing I wish you would come and do my car but you probably live miles away.
Thanks for watching Sam! I'm based in the north west :)
Lovely job Heather! May I know what pressure washer are you using?
Thanks! It’s a Kranzle K10/122 TS 😊
@@AutoCareHQ are the gun and the foam lance that you used also the standard ones that came in the box (Kranzle)?
Nope they're aftermarket ones, I've popped links to all the equipment in the description
Nice job
Thanks!
I forgot to say an incredible look of concentration on your face when working 😁 keep up the good work...
Haha I always notice it when I'm editing, looks like I'm in a bad mood but I am honestly enjoying the process!
@@AutoCareHQ Yes I thought that at least you didn't stick your tongue out like I sometimes do. Good to know you are a happy person. Keep smiling 😁...
Where do you get the white steam cleaner cloths from please Heather
It came with the Karcher SC3 steamer
