Years ago we bought a Maltese Dog for my daughter. After about a year we noticed that, before my wife had a seizure, the dog would sit and stare at her. It was easy to encourage this and Daisy became 100% reliable. Seizure prediction dogs are very hard to train and quite rare. When Daisy had her vest on, she never barked or acted up, even in the presence of a fake service dog barking at her. This is why professional training isn’t required.
The biggest problem we had was Walmart trying to say that we couldn’t have our 12 pound dog in a shopping cart, on top of my coat or blanket. My dog was cleaner than poopy diaper kids and birds pooping on them in the parking lot! By federal law she must be allowed to sit there because closeness to my wife was required for her to do her job, and being on the floor was very dangerous. I despise people who try to say that their pets are service dogs because they are “emotional support” animals. I reported dozens of them in stores and got many ejected. We bought her a vest because it cut down on questions. It wasn’t required for her.

It is against The Board of Health laws to allow a dog to ride in the cart.
You could cause the store to be shut down. If the dog must be close to your wife, you can get a body sling for your wife to wear. Many many tiny Service Dogs are able to work with "Four on the Floor" just fine as long as they are trained to heel and obey other commands. This includes Diabetic Alert Dogs and Seizure Alert Dogs.
Dogs can be trained to smell other parts of the body like the back of knees .
Putting the dog in the cart only encourages the entitled Karens to put their Emotional Support Dogs in the carts.
REAL Service Dogs NEVER ride in the carts, with or without a coat or blanket.
Walmart IS correct in this scenario. Your ALLOWED to have the dog in a sling but NOT in a cart.
Walmart and every other store has every right to tell u to keep ur dog out of the cart because by law in stores like Walmart dogs r NOT allowed to be in carts due to health and safety regulations.
The law does NOT require them to allow it dog to sit in carts.
Stop spreading misinformation and causing problems.
The dog can either walk next to u or u can carry her dog.
Also just because a service dog doesn't have to be professionally trained doesn't mean they don't have to be trained at all.
They do still require training which often takes on act around 1 1/2-3 years to complete.

So, how do we get HELP getting an attorney to sue a business that denied me access?
ADA has a phone number on their website for complaints
@bugshugs 1,000% YES! I want the ADA to levy a FINE against the business. They start at $75,000.
But, nope. The ADA law has no teeth! Unenforcable.
Attorneys won't take a CIVIL RIGHTS case without tons of money.
Google how many service dog handler complaints the ADA receives per year.
Approximately 2,400 per year.
Guess how many of those 2,400 disabled persons receive help taking their claim to court per year?
ONE! ONE PERSON!
So, YES!
I wantvthe ADA to grow fangs to sink into businesses that deny citizens of this country their CIVIL RIGHTS!
I hand out information cards to uneducated people & business owners. I've offered to give classes to businesses new employees so they get it right.
Businesses are going to continue to deny access to persons with service dogs until the ADA grows a pair & ENFORCES federal & state laws.

I should have gone to the local news with my story. But, I was so traumatized by the incident, it through me into a complete mental health crisis for a YEAR!
I'm going to make a long video about the incident. I'll go downtown, take Stella 🐕🦺 ... and walk viewers through the evening. My getting written confirmation from the venue that they CAN accommodate my electric wheelchair & PTSD seizure service dog. How the manager & his boss conspired to kick me out as soon as I arrived! Stating that they don't allow animal cruelty in THEIR establishment!
Go exercise your right to free speech when it doesn't break the LAW & deny the civil rights of a disabled person to use their medical equipment.
Yes. It's TIME to start suing businesses that deny people their CIVIL RIGHTS.
The problem is lots of people bring their pets to stores and try to say it's a service animal. The business has no rights now. It doesn't matter that I have serious allergies and will suffer for days
You first call Local Law Enforcement, even if you have to show them the ADA Website stating that they are required to allow an actual Service Animal. They can't ask you to make your animal task, but you CAN show them they're actually TRAINED for PUBLIC ACCESS... by how your dog ignores people and other animals, and how it obeys upon command.
It's also not required, but most places have Service Dog training services who will take your Service Animal after it's been trained, and test it publicly and give it a Certificate to show for the uneducated.
Your first CORSE of action should never be SUE SUE SUE, unless it's an Extreme issue such as you or your service animal is injured, attacked, and or, destracted during a Medical Emergency.
Note: A Service Animal in Training is not covered exactly the same as as trained and the disability tasking animal.
@@BittagritI filed a formal complaint with the ADA. After receiving a form letter denying me help , I Googled the stats on how many service dog teams are actually helped with ADA litigation. Ready? ONE case per year may see court. ONE. Simply disgusting. Why have laws that aren't enforceable.

Can cats be service animals? Because Service animals by ada law only dogs and miniature horses can be service animals.
I looked it up from websites that are trustworthy. And cat's CANT be recognized as a service animal unfortunately. But they can be a emotional support animal just like any animal. But emotional support animals CANNOT enter NON PET FRIENDLY PLACES. Hope I was able to help you! (: Don't fall for service animal paperwork, or registered cat service animals a service animal does not have paper work those are scams and could possibly end up getting you arrested! Service dogs are not allowed in food service areas, Hospital operating Theatres and animal contact areas within animal parks. Service dogs must also have a 6-foot non-retractable leash attached to them at all times

Tf you getting this from? I've had service dogs while working in the food industry many times, both me and employees.
In the last year and a half my dog has been to over 200 dr appointments to include the ER all while being off leash 😯

First of all, they can't be in good prep areas that r not open to the general public (so example kitchens at restaurants) they can however be in the dining area of a restaurant and can also walk through a open to the public food court.
Also, NOTHING in the law says service dog teams can't use retractable leashes, NOR does it say anything about the size of the leash.
Also PER the LAWS service dogs do NOT have to be on a leash depending on the tasks and or disability.
How? Veterans???????

@@msmakos1 our veterinarian has told me stories of dogs that had he put down, because of damage done to their airways. The owner kept yanking hard repeatedly over a period of time and the animal was damaged beyond repair.
@Bittagrit that's ONE dog, to be honest, sounds like a flat collar to me. But prong collars are correctional collars and BETTER than flat collars.
@@msmakos1 we will agree to disagree, and it was NOT just one dog harmed by a prong collar. There were MORE than one. My own huge shepherd was trained force free, using a reward system of a special toy, clicker and minimal treats. Not saying it’s one size fits all, each dog has their unique personality.
