In the video, I go over my experience with Google Ads Performance Max "Feed Only" campaigns and my recommendation as to whether you should use them or not.
The short answer is, yes, you should.
However, it is a campaign type to test.
It won't work on all accounts, as I have experienced, but for others, it works really well. (plus they are sooo easy to setup).
What is a Feed Only Pmax? - In short, it is a performance max campaign which has minimal assets included. This will mean only:
    3 headlines
    1 long headline
    2 descriptions
    2 images
    no videos
    and NO AUDIENCE SIGNAL
Your regular product groups from GMC
Why use a Feed Only Pmax? - The main reason I use feed only pmax is because having minimal assets in your campaign means that Google will have less to use for Search, display, and RUclips, and therefore, it pushes it more to Google shopping.
From my experience, Standard Google Shopping campaigns are dead, and I barely get a good ROAS from them. I now would only use a feed-only pmax campaign If I wanted to run a "dedicated" Shopping campaign.

Hey man. Would be great if you could do a video on how you determine which assets to use in your pmax campaigns, no one has covered this on youtube. A process of testing different assets and how and when to rotate them based on different performance indicators. Great content as always!

    Hello
Thank you for this information, can you please explain the difference between high and low demand? is it about the targeting or about the products?

    Hi Josh,
Currently we use P.Max as intended by Google and we have 4 separate P.Max campaigns, 1 for each major product type.
I am considering trying P.Max Feed only as I do believe focusing on Shopping only will give us better results.
I was planning to have P Max (Feed only) x 3 campaigns. High Performers / Mid Performers / Low Performers.
My question is, while I am testing this, should I turn off the original P,Max campaigns, otherwise they would be competing against each other / which would drive up costs / reduce effectiveness.
Hope you can provide some insight / advice on this.

With a new Pmax, campaign comes with a 2-week learning phase, depending on ad spend. Where sales don't come through steadily. Therefore, I recommend running them both simultaneously and slowly phasing out the old campaigns once the new ones are up to speed or you are happy with them.
The situation isn't ideal, but this prevents a steep dip in sales if you rely on ads significantly.
      I hope that helps!

Hi..Do you recommend putting in Audience signals in feed only PMAX or none at all? I have an e-commerce gifts store and I am currently running a PMAX feed only campaign without any additive signals. So I am currently thinking to use gifts & occassions and personalized gifts as Audience signals asking with “people who have visited websites like Etsy and Amazon”. Do you recommend this?
