Cute sweater, I love how this yarn looks in a cardigan, I will try it. I've had major issues trying to use RHSS yarn on the Sentro machine, so much so I had to wash the yarn ahead of time just to use it... lots of dropped stitches or missed stitches. I don't bother using that yarn with my machine anymore. I even tried dryer sheets to try to reduce the static.

I would use some waste yarn to start and end each panel. The rib can be done the same way you do, with the waste yarn still on but with the knitted panel taken off the machine. When the ribbing is done, remove the waste yarn and finish the edge with crochet hook of the size stipulated on the skein band, using a slip stitch. It makes for a nice even and tidy edge. I do love the style of your cardigan though and I think you did rather fantastic considering how long you’ve had your machine for! 👍❣️🌹
Thank you! I appreciate your comments and suggestions. I’ll be making another cardigan and I will be using waste yarn - I have been learning so many techniques that I want to put together in a new summer weight cardigan!

And add a 1/2 width panel to the sleeves to add more width. Good luck!!
I didn’t see how you cast off, and what is a mattress stitch? ,,, please, what do you think of the “ authentic board multi knitting board”? Hope, you’ll or somebody answers me, Thank you, ,,your sweater is beautiful
I used Waste yarn to knit several rows and the just ran the machine with out any new yarn and the panels fall off. Using waste yarn keep the cast on and cast off stitches neater. I have a shorts video with the mattress stitch up close and easy to see. Look at the shorts tab here on my channel. I haven’t heard of the Authentic Knitting Board so I hope someone here can answer that part of you question! Thank you for watching and I hope you find my channel helpful.
Hi! I appreciate you watching! The panels were 45 stitches wide the ribbing was 16 rows deep )4 inches (10cm)) on each end and the plain knit was 40 inches (102cm) making the total length 48 inches long. I am 5 foot 2 inches (157cm) tall and the finished sweater hits me just below my waist. The sleeves were in the round 18 rows for the cuff ribbing and 50 rounds for the sleeve. I love that we can adjust the panels and sleeves to fit us! Have fun.
Great sweater design. I am an actual knitter. I keep wondering how to make the ribbing neater, like it was actually knitted with knitting needles. Every video I have seen, all look the same. Ribbing is suppose to be tighter than the actual knitted fabric. At least in actual knitting from needles. Do you have any ideas to tighten the ribbing? Thank you for your sharing.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and you comment. Yup! I’m a hand knitter first too. The ribbing being done by hand would be the best method to get a tighter rib. This was the first project I did after a hat on the knitting machine so I was challenging myself big time to complete a sweater on the machine from start to finish. I still love it but I’m thinking of frogging the ribbing and doing it over by hand to tidy it up.
I watched video few times. I would like to know how many inches long are the side panels. You do mention rows but I work with inches because I didn't use a counter when doing my sample.
Hi there my measurement on the body panels is 44” from cast on edge to cast off edge- I am only 5’2” tall and this cardigan hits me 6” below my natural waist. Make sure to do your own measurements to make it fit your body. Have fun!!
@@StephanieBCreativity thank you for responding to my question. I am also 5"2'. I did take my measurements and that's what I came up with also 22" front and 22"back. I draft my own sewing patterns and I have to take measurements also for fabric sewing.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I have a question though. I want to make a sweater dress size 3X .. is there a way to connect two panels without it having a harsh blunt line? The first panel I made isn’t wide enough for the front
I’m thinking out loud here- I haven’t tried this - maybe making the seams a design feature would be best- knitting the front and back with 3 panels - so you can have 2 vertical seams balanced so you aren’t running one seam down the middle from the neck to hem. Maybe making the middle panel full width and the side panels a bit narrower(to equal the size of the 2 back panels) to make the front of the dress. You could do 2 panels in the back with a single seam. Hope that helps get you thinking of ways to make it work.
@@StephanieBCreativity Thank you!! I appreciate your suggestion. I’m determined to figure this out lol. 😭 I’ve even tried attaching the sides of the panel loops back onto the machine in attempts to make it wider. It worked but not as neat as I wanted.
Great question! Yes, it does but the knitted fabric will be looser- you might try putting a touch more tension on the yarn as you are knitting. Experiment and have fun!
I wasn't meaning anything negative. How can we tighten it up via the knitting machine? I would really like to know how to do it. When using a sock loom and ribbing, it looks like it was hand knit. I wonder why the machine looks different.
I didn’t take it as negative at all. 😊 I think it looks different on the loom because we can more easily adjust the tension and we can knit and pearl as we go just like regular knitting. On the machine we have to go back and reverse the columns to the opposite so working on it he machine knitted fabric we are loosing the tension. There may be tricks that others know but I haven’t figured out how to keep the ribbing tighter.

Gracias, gracias 👋👋👋👋
You are so welcome!
Can a person make this on a 22 count machine
It would take making panels and stitching them together but I think you could do it.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!!
@DeliberatelyCreative haha! I didn’t realize I was logged in as my other channel. Thank you!
💖💖👍👍💖💖
Thank you so much! I need to figure out my way to do another easy sweater! I appreciate you watching!
Have no idea how you take the sweater off the machine
The sweater is made in panels you can use waste yarn or just pick up the stitches with a long tail of yarn on a yarn needle. Thank you for watching!!
Thanks for answering, what is a mattress stitch,,,
BTW, I love your sweater
@@hildebt7988 perfect question! I have a 1 minute lesson ruclips.net/user/shortsfcpcDxfCoko?feature=share it is an invisible seam when stitching together knit or crochet items.
Wow, that mattress stitch is awesome, thank you 😊
So what you expect us to praise you for machine knitting a vanilla sweater try some real knitting
It is a vanilla sweater and totally customizable. A knitting machine is a tool that many people have been using ing for years. I just got this 2 weeks ago and I am proud of myself for figuring out how to knit and assemble a whole sweater in under 8 hours. I hope you enjoy your own projects with your chosen tools as much as I did with this project.
damn Deborah who shat in your cereal?
Damn Debbie is your middle name Karen? This is a video about knitting machines. Where did you get confused?
I can’t knit but can do this! Sounds like you want to deprive those of being able to do this? I am 79 and now I can make scarves and beanies for my great grandchildren. You really owe Stephanie an apology for your rude attitude. To each their own, to their own capabilities.
@@StephanieBCreativityI apologize Stephanie, I don’t ever respond to negative comments, but I took this personally as you are only trying to help us do something that I, ** and I’m sure many of us older ones too ** , wouldn’t be able to do without you! “Dat-nab-it” ! 🙀😻
