Bro this video is insanely well-made. I really like Loader but I always felt like I was playing her wrong. This guide answered so many of my questions.
The one thing I am taking away from this video is how the grapple boost work, and that maybe I should try more charge gauntlet instead of thunder gauntlet.
Thunder gauntlet has ease of use, in exchange for bad survivability. As long as you aren't charging into certain death or on e8 it really isn't a bad option.
@@JesusChrimstThunder Gauntlet and Thunderslam make Loader's burst damage much more reactive and flexible, in exchange for Charges Gauntlet's range and piercing, and the Pylon's many use cases. I've killed single elite/boss enemies MUCH faster using her alternate utility myself.
this video was so much better than i could've expected. I went into it thinking like "ugh the title feels kinda clickbaity but maybe i can learn a thing or two" but my ass didn't even realize the direction you're looking in matters with the grappling hook, i've actually been playing loader wrong 😭 anyway thanks dude this helps a bunch :>
The three things I've learned is just how little the movement items matter for the Heavy affix, the grapple boost and the usefulness of the pylon. Thanks for this video.
I've been avoiding doing my loader eclipse climb for some time cause I didn't realize how the grapple boost worked, and I am so happy about this video, thank you!
I just started playing this game a month ago and fell in love with Loader and Artficer. I’ll definitely be looking to add these skills to my next game session.
man, seeing everything that I learned through out playing Loader in a simple to understand video is so fascinating, there are so many things that we learn and take for granted at the time without realizing that it's actually a huge deal and many people may not know about it. Even the small details can make or break your speed and to know that I knew all of that, but would fail to teach because it is all instinctual is so weirdly fascinating, amazing video
I’m happy I started playing and watching the gauntlet races at the same time so I never became a full fans loader but this guide helps even more. Console might mess with things a bit but learning these will help a bunch
I'm new to the game (got in on steam sale) and have watched a lot of guides on characters/items. This was by far the best one I've watched. Extremely easy to follow, lots of game play and practical tips. Please consider making more guides for other survivors
Another thing I love about the slam is if you're tethered already, you can also "bob" for damage. If you're high enough, it can also give a bit of length to your tether, similar to either punch @ 4:14 .
Little tip RE the items, a couple of wax quails and a harpoon can, in my experience, seriously boost your charge gauntlet damage. You're sprinting while charging anyway, so jumping right as you release the punch gives you acceleration from the wax quail, and if you make sure there's at least one enemy you can one-shot between you and your actual target you'll get the harpoon boost mid-punch. I haven't got any hard digits on it, but I definitely feel more powerful with that combo than without. I only know what I've picked up from playing, so I didn't about the finer points of grapple-based techs, so I'd love to see if adding a wax quail right before some of them boosts yours speed at all.
The quail one is definitely a good tip, it seriously boosts heavy damage. But the punch's heavy damage is decided on release, so harpoon actually doesn't affect it unfortunately
man, i really like the slam, even if it's not as versatile as the pylon, it's very satisfying to use and it's really fun "roleplay" as a tactical nuke falling from the sky at 3000m/s smashing anything unfortunate enough to be down there, like some sort of "hulk spiderman" fusion XD. so i guess i'll trade utility for cool factor here, although the pylon still looks like a lot of fun to use for cool mobility tricks. and sorry for my english and still i THANK you so much for this video it'll assist to improve my skills with loader and I'll definelly practice and use lot's of tre strats and techiniques you showed in your video m8
proud to say I at least had the basics down before this video. Personally ctrl is the easiest key to press on my keyboard in any situation because of rocket jumping muscle memory, and I prefer slam because it works better with big flashy teleporter boss instant kill setups, but other than that I've been doing basically all of these
Hey Cap! I don't know if you'll see this but you raided my stream today while I was playing RoR2 and I just wanted to say thank you! I've watched your content before but I had no idea it was you raiding me! You rock man, I really appreciated it.
Personally I'm a fan of comboing thunder punch with thunder slam, it allows me to basically non-stop bombard enemies with strong attacks by slamming, grappling into a punch, then by the time that's done slam is almost back, and the cycle repeats. I also honestly enjoy having to work my movement around this, as weird as that might seem. I treat the punch as a short mid-air dash rather than a long-range boost, and my slam as an airbreak. It forces me not to rely so heavily on any one ability.
As a redemption for slam, it can be properly combined with punch to control how far your charge fist sends your after hitting your enemy, as well as being an extra big damage attack you can cancel out of charge gauntlet. Alternatively, it is useful to stagger with punch as a strong ability to suplement when you have to take out some extra enemies after a punch and dont wanna get close (blazing elites are an example). Obviously this doesnt mean slam is better, GEARBOX GIVE ME HEAVY ON THUNDERSLAM AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!! But they both have their uses.
I always knew that the pylon could be grappled, but I just thought of it as something you could place down if you needed a grapple point in a specific position.
I found holding shift and control together anoying, which is why I always preferred thunder gauntlet, but I'll give it a try again after rebinding, thanks for the tip.
i think the absurdity of loader gets shown off with artifact of command i run spiked grapple, thunder gauntlet and the pylon additionally, stack back-up mags and focus on making sure the punch is *always* available here's where the fun begins find a huge target, grapple into them and punch you bounce back, allowing you to grapple and punch again- rinse and repeat it's not the best playstyle, but it's so fun turning loader into a paddle ball
I just recently got Ror2 and if any character in any game ever was made specifically for me, its loader. Years of titanfall 2 and Overwatch Doomfist lead to this character. I lot of this stuff already feels very intuitive to me but this video is amazing nonetheless.
You misrepresented thunder slam a lot. The data at 7:08 is misleading. You did an additional 240 damage with the thunder slam that you didn't factor in, which should've brought the total damage up to 667. That's a larger damage boost than the pylon example Considering that thunder slam charges 2.5 times faster and requires less set up than the pylon, it's at least better for combat
Loader movement on console is still very achievable. The biggest hurdle is using a controller, which is possible, but does hurt your fingers after a while.
i have 1k hours on loader, and i probably subconciously knew cuz i would aim at where i wanted to go, but ive never actually KNOWN about grapple boost, i just knew that where i looked affected the grapple
