Today, I came across Keynsham Police Station and decided to put my Drone up, but two police officers came up to me to find out if I was doing anything wrong!

@@petes1926To be fair, drones are kind of out there in the deep end of the murky waters of law. @AudunWangen very true, can't expect them to be experts on new subjects. But like you said, lacking such basic skills/knowledge is quite disturbing, especially when they have such little accountability for their actions.

I've got a theory. If police concentrated more on whether an actual crime is being committed rather than the 'personal' cars, police getting followed lines, and trying to just get personal details there might be a very slim chance of some actual crime busting police work taking place? Great video pal 👏 👍

I would have asked the grumpy officer if he'd like to apologise for his threat to confiscate the drone - so that we can shake hands, put it behind us, and part on good terms. They usually won't. The problem I have with it is that if you were not so clued up, you may have been coerced by his statements made under 'colour of authority' I now carry a statement of fees to hand out. Taking my drone will cost them 250 + 80 per day (or any part thereof) - and they accept by taking the drone without lawful authority. It's on a 30 day account, with 8% statutory interest (over the BoE base rate) for any fees still outstanding after that time. Obviously, should they turn out to HAVE lawful authority, they have nothing at all to worry about - the fees only apply where they DON'T have such authority. Then, just be very willing to comply with the demand on that commercial basis. It's amazing how quickly the police start to reconsider when you set up a fee schedule ; ) 330 quid just for taking your drone to check the ID. And it's commercial, so no need to prove any wrongdoing... they have to provide a defence against the commercial contract. There's no reason you cannot charge the full value of the drone, if they hold it - as you'd have to replace it in order to continue your lawful work. Suddenly they get really antsy - and the more happy you are for them to avail themselves of your 'services' - the more antsy they get ; ) Some coppers may be dumb as a bag of rocks, but they can still smell a trap being set XD

''may' is test. PA outfoxed them - with authority.
asking questions about the law --- YOURE PAID TO KNOW THE LAW
Nicely done. Two more that tried to enforce laws they didn't understand and again got it entirely wrong that you needed to give the operator ID.
Not 250 kilograms. That's quite a large person 😂
What is a pure audits. Is it something special.
The tall officer was fine, but the ginger one didn't want to let it go did he!
One of these days when the police arrive it would be hilarious to watch you sprint off !! The classic "what are WE filming the police station for ?" Well i know why I'm filming officer...how would i know why you are ?! 😂😅
They just dont know when to stop digging.
Reminded me , 76, of Radio Luxembourg donkeys years ago only the old ones will know.
In the 1950's and 1960's Keynsham became a household name due to the radio ads of Horace Batchelor, the self-styled 'football pools king'.
Strange how the police go to far more lengths to try to stop you or find out who you are when you are flying the drone over a police station.
Personal registrations?
There's no such thing, car registrations are government owned public information
