The word Solutions is very trendy and grossly overused. Some business owners think it makes them appear sophisticated. In reality it shows a lack of imagination and creativity.
Actually you will find that people can ask you what you are doing if you are acting suspiciously in a public area. If you work with the public in public places such as hospitals, stations, stadiums, arenas etc you are there to ensure the safety of the public. There is training that people go through if working in these areas and has been put in place after the Manchester arena bombing. I bet you and this video recorder would be the 1st to complain if someone like this gentleman did not approach someone acting suspiciously and something terrible happened to a member of your family or friend.
@musiclover9361 terrorists carries out surveillances in a public area to look for weaknesses such as layout and staff before deciding if to carry out an attack or not. Thiefs will do the same. Even those who have a grudge against a company may carry out a surveillance to work out best way of attacking a building. Plus if filming in a public area you must get permission from the person you are filming before you film them. Everyone has a right to privacy and not everyone wants to be filmed. You have to respect their rights before filming and if they ask to stop filming you have got to respect that and stop filming. There was a case a few years back regarding a video ring bell and someone on the street walking past who was filmed. That person took the homeowner to court and won. If you're ring bell captures videos of the street you must put up a sign warning people that they are being filmed. You will see signs up in public areas warning people about cctvs and those shop workers, police, etc who carry mobile film units on their body will warn or should warn you that you are being filmed.

Go to Buckingham Palace and film the Royal Family from a public place. Would you need permission? What about paparazzi: do they need permission? You don't know what you're talking about and it shows.

Most modern terror attacks are carried out with rucksacks - are we also going to stop all people with rucksacks and accuse them of being terrorists? Every person has the right to ask people not to record them in public and every photographer has the right to ignore that request. The video door bell case involved monitoring private areas of a neighbours property not the public walking past.

EMPLOYEES LEAVE THEIR PROPERTY TO EXPRESS THEIR WISH THAT THEY WONT ALLOW A DRONE TO FLY OVER THEIR SITE. THEY DO GET VERY UPSET BUT WITHOUT KNOWING THE LAW ARE ADIMENT THEY CAN DEMAND A CITIZEN IN PUBLIC TO DO AS THEY SAY EVEN IF THE AUDITOR IS DOING A LEGAL ACTIVITY.
So sad that in this day and age of technology and information right at tyour fingertips, that people still get things so badly wrong. Corporate procedures and policies driven in to them, day in, day out - they think that corporate policies apply to the general public too. Sad world we live in when people such as these display such ignorance of the law and try to enforce their own beliefs of what they think is the law. And even worse, they are the ones that in reality when they approach you as aggressively as Steve did, are in reality displaying aggressive behaviour in public and as such, breaking the law.
