Hello. You could either go from Battambang straight to Sihanouville via a bus or a taxi, or you could go to Siem Reap first and then fly to Sihanoukville. From Sihanoukville you would then have to take the ferry. You can book all of your transport here: visitkohrong.com/book-transport/

The island is beautiful, but what they don't show you is the pollution and garbage that surrounds this island. The locals needs to wake up and start cleaning up this place before it gets really bad.
the vast majority of that is not Koh Rong. I live here, there are no ancient temples, tigers, lakes or wide rivers
Was there before massive tourism spoiled the place.

Koh Rong would be much better if it wasn't covered in trash. I was there in 2015 and there beach was so dirty.
Hello, this is simply not true - Yes on Koh Touch (the main tourist area) it can get dirty, as with any popular party destination. But there are MANY other places on Koh Rong and on Koh Rong Samloem that are beautiful and pristine. Even on Koh Touch itself, just a little further down to the right of the main piers, the white sandy beach is beautiful and well kept. It is true. Even at Long Beach, the hidden beach you can hike to on the other side of the island, there was plastic trash on the beach and floating in the water. It is a shame because the island is so beautiful, but many of Asia's beaches are becoming polluted with garbage. I think I will just stick to Mexico next time. The beaches are incredible and clean, and it is closer to my home anyways.

we were at koh rong in march 2018, long beach, we were shocked how much trash was not only in waters but on the whole beach, that was really heartbreaking..
