- This one was different. I think this now tops the list of ships that took me the longest to test. First of all, it was a matter of figuring out how to make her work, and then, I had that weird experience that sometimes, she's amazing, but many other times, doesn't work at all, and I wanted to get to the bottom of this. See for yourself - I'm really curious to hear your thoughts.

I think is more Ägir/Siegfried kinda playstyle in fact I think is more comparable to to Ägir than anything else....
Ägir has faster reload (fewer guns), better torp range (I think Odin's, but not sure), thinner armour and is a T9. The setup is similar, but I think the style is significantly different. Ägir has some manoeuvrability, but needs to still play cruiser somewhat. Mecklenburg is in the weird spot that she's designed for long range gunnery, has the armour to support it, but in practice, needs to fight at mid-range to shine, and lacks the utility to create those situations in most cases.

I don’t have the Ägir and there might be some subtle differences between the Siegfried and Ägir beyond just the main guns, but while the Siegfried gets Odin’s autosecondaries it has the Tirpitz’s torpedo range.
Yes, I have the same targeting issue on my phone. Without the magnifying it's tough... old eyes😁 BUT I'm getting better adjusting my 'windage' while using Auto. Not perfect but it works, it's GREAT to know these dynamics though thanks to you & Slai47!🥳
At range on a phone I find it better to keep the auto aim on, once at mid or close range I turn auto aim off. Seems to work fairly well like that. At long range you tend to hit the deck more because of it plunging at thag point
I'm actually trying to stay locked on and just disable it when I'm about to fire, but I feel that it's more psychological at that point.

Sorry, I usually try not to dunk on other players, but firing SAP at a German BB does show a certain degree of inexperience.

The dispersion is good, and imo she would just need a little nudge to be great - give her two charges of sonar, allowing for aggressive play, and I'd be sold

Besides all the cons and you pointed that out very well, the precision is glorious, so satisfying to see the shells flying. 😂😂
Is that the most precise ship so far? How is it compared to the slava or incomparable?
Hard to say without explicit testing. I'd say Slava is definitely more accurate, and, of course, hits harder. Incomparable is too long ago that I can't remember :)
Always great to see a new German BB. I'm surprised that the German quadruple turrets are a bit better in dispersion than their French counterparts (then again it's not German lol), not saying they're very precise, but they are just a bit, especially with a PA II. A FDG hull in Tier X is good, but I'd say it would do a bit better at Tier IX, like the Pommern that if I'm not wrong also has a FDG hull. I'd like to get this ship as I play on a much bigger screen to help with my manual aim as well, as I need to practice that.
The French actually had issues with dispersion on the quad turrets IRL, the guns were very slightly out of sequence, so the shock from the first one was throwing the others off, if I remember correctly.
@@FunandGameswithTerry Yea I think some issues with the manufacturing of the guns, like the Italians with the Zara guns. But I'd also say that the guns might have been a bit too close to each other, which also contributed to their questionable accuracy. Drachinifel made a video about the Zara Class guns, and the Littorio Class gun manufacturer. I'm certain French guns had similar problems in their manufacturing.
Honestly that caliber gun, with that many of them I would play him in a similar style to Colombo. Destroying destroyers when they face me with HE shells.
The HE is pretty underwhelming, I think it's 700-odd alpha, get 5 or 6 on target, we're talking 3-4k damage, with a 20s reload. The AP might actually be the better choice at range, but definitely not close up :)
I feel like getting this ship but I have to wait for like another event or if there’s bundle for it
One question to ask, so does the T8 Brandenburg up tier to become a Mecklenburg or a Preussen? Just a sidebar but I find it very interesting cuz Brandenburg shares similarities to them both. I lean towards that she leads to Preussen since there is a Pommern there to bridge the gap.
Macklenberg is actually a HE spammer in PC just because of volume of guns
Not quite working out here, 9% fire chance and a very low HE alpha.

hey Terry, what are your thoughts on the Leningrad? you never made a video on it. I was thinking if i should take the Ise or the Leningrad in the current event.....

Yeah, sorry, that was an old video - been a very long time. It's not a bad ship, kind of a more smoke-focused Minsk. Ise is okay, but certainly not strong.

The numerous amounts of 'buts', 'ifs', 'provided', and 'ands' present in this review from start tp finish convinced me to again close my wallet on this ship. 😂
I really, really wanted to like this ship. I know some enjoy it, and I do - at times, but especially in early testing, when I didn't manually aim yet, it was painful. In the end, everyone to their own, but compared to something like Slava, I wouldn't outright recommend this - only for hardcore collectors :)

I saw you testing this ship last night in a battle against 4 destroyers...the Mecklenburg didn't last very long in that torpedo soup. 🤣
Yep, it's the lack of sonar that really hurts her. This was one of the recommendations I've given to WG, to give her at least two basic charges. The handling really doesn't allow any aggressive play otherwise, and makes her pretty useless in DD-heavy games
GK, Schlieffen, Preussen, Mecklenburg. Sehr viele 10er BBs, wenn man bedenkt, dass das letzte tatsächliche BB auf T8 ist. Auch auf T9 gibts Prinz Rupprecht, FDR (nicht der Präsident), Pommern. So viele BBs haben nicht mal die Amis im Spiel

Just for the record I'd take fault line over encounter any day, hate that fing map.
The Odin’s guns at t10 seem a tad… underwhelming. Especially for something that is presented as a long range BB. At least the Odin gets the GK’s secondaries.
The lack of sonar isn’t ideal, but I can live with it - I have the Cross of Dorn, which is the warhammer camo version of the Odin that doesn’t have sonar either, but it has forced me to learn to anticipate DD torps better.
I thought so as well, don't need sonar, but this ship steers like a brick, and it's T10, so Shima walls of skill galore. Playing against DDs without 150s and sonar is really frustrating.

Fair point - walls of shima torps is not something you have to contend with sailing the Odin.
And to be honest, if I was looking for a German t10 premium, would I pick the Mecklenburg over the Preußen? I don’t think so.
Edit: according to DFA’s stats sheets, the Mecklenburg’s DPS potential is a fair bit higher than the GK’s, so I may have been wrong about those guns… he doesn’t have the Preußen on it though, so not sure how it compares.

Oh dear. Don't say that too loud. The Superships still haven't been balanced.
No tier 11s here yet, same with subs or CV FPS. T11s I could imagine, but I feel like the other two would require too much work.
