This last episode already left the end of season 5 completely defined. Ryan will play the role of killing Homelander instead of Black Noir as it is in the comics and Butcher will be the final villain, making the boys having to end him and Hughie and Starlight will have a happy ending, marriage, etc... Or maybe they make a way butcher kills Homelander and himlself in a heroic sacrifice so butcher wont be hated by The Boys fans...
Yeah it setup an ending similar to the comics but it will be different. Erik said it won’t be the comic ending. So I think your theory’s are pretty good.
I pray they don’t have butcher go out like he did in the book 🙏 Butcher is too good of a person in the show to have him take out other members of the boys l
Idk they averted expectations pretty well in the last episode, i really thought imposter annie would kill the pres, and then them getting caught up at the end of the ep and more. I think they still got a few tricks up their sleeve

It’ll be kinda like breaking bad. The big bad (homelander) dies and then the protagonists (the boys) will have to kill their former ally (butcher)
